Glad to be rid of it. Parts fell off the first motor when I took it out of the box. It's been unusable for both summer cruises---the charger failed. Last summer was at the beginning of a 3 month cruise. Your service people couldn't send a replacement to us along the way---it had to be shipped to our home address. We bought a gas outboard to get us by---the Torq just sat in the bottom of a locker as ballast. Just sold the thing as almost new, the truth is it was almost unusable. Sold it for a $1000 loss; good riddance.

My torqeedo ultralight motor and battery were ordered on April 25th. The motor arrived in late may, but battery was in limbo. UPS lost the package. That's an issue since they have to ship via ground due to lithium battery being hazardous for air shipment. So, might take another week or more if they have to send a new shipment. I sent 2 emails, apparently to the wrong account ( replied to email address received for the order). Their order tracking is not great. You basically just have to call if there is an issue and its on you to realize that there is a delay. Sales is polite on the phone but will look to transfer you to product support/service ASAP. I'm not sure going through a dealer instead of direct to Torqeedo would have been any better.

I will say that there product support team was speedy and helpful and answered the phone. So, not all bad and the motor is awesome on my kayak so far. Just not a confidence inducing experience.

We bought our Torqeedo motor for a 1969 Morgan 25 foot sailboat. It is so much easier to use and more reliable than our old gas outboard. It never stalls and can hold that boat steady in current and wind while we wait for local drawbridge to open. It weighs so much less than our old motor so is easy to remove for storage.

Still waiting for response to my ticket about opening in shaft, they mentioned dealer in SC but that's it.

Part arrived on time and worked as it should.

Communications with Torqeedo were very good with prompt replies and responding to my request to use USPS instead of UPS. UPS's high charges for customs clearance and other charges added another 20% to the items ordered. Customer satisfaction is obviously a high priority for Torqeedo.

Fast, reliable, priceworthy!

The motor worked well, but yesterday I lost the motor when the screws loosened while in high wind in my sailboat. I had the motor in the water but it was off. I really needed a safety strap that would hold the motor in place if it worked loose again. Do you sell a safety strap or have a suggestion?

The smooth quiet operation was great. But the solar charge seemed to not work properly. The charge percentage would drift and eventually while it said 80-90% it would drop to 5-6%. Next the control panel seems have gotten too wet and stopped responding to button touches or doing random button activations. This has rendered the unit non-operational.

The most important part of the experience is using the motor on my kayak and it’s been wonderful. And the installation was pretty simple

The support has been good has well. While Torqeedo has a very structured system for seeking customer support - it does work well - and the response times are quicker than I expected

I would offer five stars but only being to update the controller with a ‘windows’ based computer is a serious flaw. It’s like saying we only want people that drive chevy’s but not fords.

Torqeedo do has to fix that! I love my Torqeedo but had I known that my Apple based computers, phones, and tablets were basically MOOT, I might have made another purchasing decision.

PLEASE FIX THIS.

We used our four stroke dinghy engine so infrequently it was simply unreliable. Our torqeedo "lights up" every time we need to use the dinghy. Our torqeedo solar panel helps us keep the batteries charged when we are on a mooring. Effective and reliable.

Unit was not suitable for marine use. Tiny pins in cable connection easily damaged and difficult to plug in on moving water or dim light. Plastic prop damaged when torque was applied by motor. Battery very quickly discharged when driving boat against tidal current.

The product is good and service excellent; had some issues with a battery that was damaged in shipment that was replaced without issue. Still sufferring from "range anxiety" using a Travel XP on a 3,300lb Sailboat. Despite advertisement I don't think it is equivalent to a 5Hp gas which I still use for long deliveries.

The Torqeedo 6.0 replaces a 4.0 I previously had. This has been a very reliable motor that is well designed with great functionality. The power is amazing. I have it on a 21’ freighter canoe.
