Fake company

I did a review on the site about the grand hotel but they wouldn't put it up as I mentioned about police always being there TripAdvisor obviously doesn't like the truth being put on there site and I think 90% of the reviews on that site are completely fake and TripAdvisor is a fake site who gets paid by hotel owners to put fake good reviews on their site

We went to GW Boutique Hotel and…

We went to GW Boutique Hotel and Restaurant in Rotherham for an Afternoon tea which was bought for us as a Christmas present and we were not disappointed it was really lovely.
The owner welcomed us and made us very comfortable. The food was plentiful and tasty. I would definitely like to go again.

Business owner being harassed by a member of the public

I'm not sure what has happened at TripAdvisor. There is an individual who keeps posting nasty reviews about myself personally on my restaurant account. He visited once in May 2023 and set up various accounts under different names in order to pursue his hobby of writing nasty reviews about me.
Several reviews were removed in the past when TripAdvisor used to always listen when I complained about him. Now they don't bother responding to me at all.
They are keen to say that they will help members of the public who review and then get harassed by business owners, but what about business owners who get harassed by members of the public?
I have now been harassed by this individual via my restaurant TripAdvisor account for just under 2 years. He has posted under various fake names although he has now removed some of these himself, several still remain.
The latest has a title that reads "Hooray its up for Sale". How on earth can this be acceptable? And how on earth can posting nasty personal comments about a business owner who has successfully run her business for 25 years be acceptable? Especially when the business has had a number 1 rating for several years.
These types of comments can be very detrimental to both the business and the human being that is being targeted.
SHAME ON YOU TRIPADVISOR.

Tripadvisor fake reviews

We have been planning a trip to India over the last few weeks and it's become quite apparent that way the majority of reviews on Tripadvisor are fakes easily spotted by the mark one human eyeball. It therefore beggars belief that tripadvisor can't create an algorithm to spot these. That said, in a sense it's ok as the bad reviews are never fakes and I guess these are the most important. Still – a real shame that tripadvisor clearly have no interest in sorting this out – kinda undermines the whole thing.

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!!
They owe me £250 and have been promising me a refund for 3 months and I have not seen a penny!! They have made it so awkward, trying to force credit notes on me, after 2 months they offered me a partial refund even though my flight was cancelled. After 3 months I eventually tried to accept an 80% refund, and they are now saying they will neither refund nor issue a credit note for a CANCELLED FLIGHT which was out of my control. They owe me £250 and also refuse to accept a dispute filled by my credit card. TERRIBLE customer service do not reccomend to anyone if you actually want a service to be provided. Do not use.

Cannot be trusted. Reviews and scoring are highly suspect

Recently booked accommodation for the weekend at a hotel through TripAdvisor. The reviews were glowing but the reality when staying there was hugely different.
My gripe is that I gave the hotel an appropriate review via TripAdvisor as it is simply not fair on other potential guests to deceive them.
I noted my review did appear and also several other negative reviews. My review and the others have been removed and yet again the hotel in quesion looks amazing.
TripAdvisor is completely pointless if it selectively removes reviews or empowers hotel owner to remove them. Would never use again.

I regret using my email for this sham site which is so outdated for the most part. I get dozens of emails per month and when I try to unsubscribe, it shows that the option is not available. COMPLETE INTRUSION OF PRIVACY

DO NOT TRUST Trip Advisor. It is SO out of date

Not worth one star.
Almost all information is out of date and the whole site needs a built-in moderator removing entries more than 12 months old.
I tried to give an honest up-to-date update as the entries appearing were wrong. Trip Advisor refused probably as it would make all previous entries redundant.
Whenever I do a search on travel a sponsored Trust [untrust] entry comes up. Often 9 or more years old.
The world has moved on, but not Trip Advisor. DO NOT TRUST Trip Advisor it is SO out of date

Excellent Dinner

Had dinner at Langton's, we were served by Christina, the service we received was excellent she was just lovely. The food was very good as always. This is one of our favourite places to dine. Looking forward to returning.

I want to share a very frustrating and disappointing experience I had with KLM. I traveled with KLM from Vancouver, Canada, to [Finland], with a layover in Amsterdam. I was traveling with my three children and multiple checked items, including some Milwaukee toolboxes containing expensive work tools.

At the Vancouver airport, KLM staff inspected my toolboxes carefully, checked and tagged every item, and even noted that the boxes contained valuable items. I also paid $200 for excess baggage, which, as the KLM supervisor later mentioned, was unnecessary. The supervisor assured me that upon arrival at my final destination, I could file a request to get a refund for the $200, and they even noted this in their system.

When we arrived at [Destination], I realized one of my Milwaukee toolboxes, along with its valuable contents, was missing. I immediately reported this to the KLM staff at the airport. They assured me they would locate and deliver the missing box to my address within 24 hours. However, 48 hours passed, and nothing happened.

The staff told me that if the box was not delivered within 48 hours, I could file a claim online, which I did. This began a long and frustrating process involving 12 emails exchanged between me and KLM’s central office in the Netherlands. They asked for all the details: the missing items, receipts, and travel documents. I provided everything they requested.

At one point, they even questioned why I didn’t get a receipt for the missing box at the airport. I explained to them that their own staff at the airport told me to file the claim online instead. After much back-and-forth, they finally agreed to reimburse me and requested my bank details to transfer the compensation.

I sent them my banking information, but after that, KLM completely blocked my emails and stopped responding altogether. It has now been nine months, and I have received no compensation or even an acknowledgment from KLM.

I also contacted a local third-party agency in [Finland] for assistance. They tried reaching out to KLM’s central office in the Netherlands, but KLM has not responded to them either.

This entire experience has been extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Losing an expensive toolbox full of work tools is already bad enough, but being ignored and blocked by KLM after they promised to compensate me is unacceptable. I expected much better from an airline like KLM, and I feel obligated to warn others about their lack of accountability.

If you’re flying with KLM, please be cautious, especially if you are traveling with valuable items. My experience shows that they do not take responsibility for lost luggage and will go to great lengths to avoid compensating their customers.

Weird business agenda. Time wasted.

Wrote an honest 5 Star review of Travelodge Manchester central. Trip Advisor has blocked the review. Received a complicated email listing reasons it could have been blocked.

In short, I wasted my time.

Such strange behaviour...never again!

Deceptive and misleading layout on Tripadvisor website

I thought I would see whether I could book Alton Towers Hotel on Tripadvisor. Alton Towers Hotel images are shown under a title: Alton Towers Hotel. To the right of the title 'Alton Towers Hotel' there is a figure of £149 and an yellow oval saying view deal. When you click on the deal you are taken to other hotels in the area. This is very deceptive practice.

the whole truth?

Somewhat surprised that my review was rejected and one of the possible reasons listed in their policies is:
• Unsuccessful attempts to contact a business.
We do not consider unanswered calls or emails to be a valid description of the service provided by the business.

I consider that to be relevant information that I would want to know before making a hotel booking as I would certainly think twice about it if I might not be able to make contact in the event of a problem.
