Evaluating 93 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people found that there were discrepancies between advertised and final prices, and some even reported finding better deals by booking directly with hotels. Customers also frequently encountered issues with the booking process, including a lack of confirmation emails, incorrect hotel reservations, and difficulties with cancellation and refund processing. The minority of people were dissatisfied with the website's functionality, noting a lack of essential filters and difficulties in contacting customer support, often leading to unresolved queries and generic responses. I had a very bad experience with this…

I had a very bad experience with this company. The biggest blunder was that I booked a hotel called Pickalbatros Aqua Club in Marrakesh, but I received a confirmation for a completely different hotel. The worst part was that the hotel mentioned in the confirmation doesn’t even exist!

When I contacted customer support, they told me to reach out to the hotel directly to confirm my booking. However, the hotel team didn’t answer my calls, so I sent them an email — but I still haven’t received a response.

I contacted Trivago again to find out what was going on, and their representative asked me to wait 48 hours, saying they would email me the correct hotel name and address. It’s now been over 48 hours, and I still haven’t heard back. As a result, I had to cancel my booking and rebook with a different company, which cost me an extra £180 — all because of their poor service.

Appalling service

Appalling service! Still not received a refund from 4/8/25. I am not going to waste any more of my time on this awful company by providing full details here. All the negative reviews speak for themselves. I slipped up on this one. Lesson learned - always check the Reviews before booking.

Change the advert

It's the terrible, annoying TV advert featuring that ex-football manager and his new Turkey teeth. I cringe when he comes on. Apparently he's famous but perhaps now for the wrong reasons.

Don't realy on Trivago.

Booked a hotel in London for one night via Trivago. Arrived to find our booking had been cancelled. Trivago had used an agent called Ogoda/Olympia Europe, who had made the booking. They had told the booking had been cancelled, but the agent did not inform us. Luckily they had a late cancellation so we got a room for the night, at a premium, Trivago gave the hotel a 4 star rating, it would have been lucky to get a 3star!!

SCAMMED

I booked a guest house in Bristol through Trivago today and was robbed of £147. Richmond guest house, 14 Park Place BS8 1JP, was advertised as being 0.5 miles from Bristol City Centre. On making my reservation, I received a receipt via email for a booking at Richmond Hotel, 14 Park Place BS23 2BA, Weston-Super-Mare. I immediately contacted Algotels and spoke with an operator named Cris, who asked for evidence of the above which I duly provided, having taken several screenshots. Cris told me not to panic and informed that he would contact me via telephone in 1 hour. That call never came and over an hour later I received the following:

Please accept my sincere apologies for not being able to provide a callback as promised. I truly appreciate your patience and understanding.

Following your concern, I reached out to both our travel partner and the hotel directly. Our travel partner has confirmed that the reservation was made at Richmond Hotel, and upon reviewing their system, they found no discrepancy between the hotel listed during the booking process and the final confirmation.

I attempted to contact Cris again however he did not respond to my emails. I contacted the hotel in Weston-Super-Mare and they informed that they had confirmation of a booking in my name and had confirmed this to Cris. My heart sank realising that I had just been robbed of £147. I tried to contact Cris again via telephone however I was unable to speak to an operator as my booking code was no longer recognised. I went back to the original advert on Trivago and was met with a 'this deal has expired' warning. Thankfully I had taken many screenshots beforehand clearly evidencing my booking of Richmond Guest House in Bristol. I will be making a formal complaint. Please don't book through either Trivago or Algotels. Suffice to say this experience ruined my holiday

Extremely disappointed with Trivago deals customer service.

I’ve had an unresolved query regarding my hotel booking for weeks, and despite multiple follow-ups, I’ve received nothing but generic and vague responses with no real progress. Every time I reach out, I’m asked to “wait 24–48 hours,” yet no resolution ever comes.
It should not be this difficult to obtain something as simple as a hotel confirmation number for a prepaid, non-refundable booking. I’ve even requested to speak to a supervisor or manager, but that request has been ignored.
The lack of transparency, accountability, and urgency is extremely frustrating. At this point, I have serious doubts about Trivago deals reliability and would defo not recommend booking through them.

Pretty good for most of the bookings &…

Pretty good for most of the bookings & useful to compare prices. The real issue is the daft set up for doing searches. For some reason if you ask for a hotel is St Malo, France it tries to take you to a B&B in the UK. It then will only take you to one Mercure Hotel in St Malo. Overall annoying & less than helpful. Sadly what happens when folks use AI rather than decently written code. It's also impossible to contact them to highlight the issues as all that happens is you end up in a loop that ultimatum leads you to give up & go somewhere else. Maybe the CEO might care to comment as little doubt they loose lots of business simply due to poor software and hiding being hind the poor software. When the system works it can be helpful, when it doesn't you might want to punch the computer........................

Trivago double booked a room

Trivago double booked a room. Today I thought I had booked a room for the 14th of September, I was very surprised to get 2 confirmations one for the 26 of August and one for the 14th of September. I went through to Trivago and was told I would have to sort out with the hotel, duly spoke to hotel and found that the 26/8 was booked through Trivago Deal and the correct one through the hotel. Hotel couldn't cancel the incorrect one as this came through Trivago. Spoke again to Trivago who again said I had to connect hotel, when I repeated what the hotel had told me they admitted it was through their travel agent, so asked for number and was told they deal with it, asked them to cancel they said it would take 48 hours to cancel (that would make it the 28/8). I asked how this could happen, they referred me to Terms and Conditions which states that in case of wrong booking Trivago is not responsible...yet one of the providers is Trivago. I hope they do the right thing, but make sure you know who you are booking through

Your company is very misleading and…

Your company is very misleading and customers should never purchase from your company. I spoke to several of your representatives who told me my trip can be modified to later find out that your company will not issue me a new date but keep my money. I filed a complaint with the business bureau and as soon as the document is received, I will move forward and file a law suit. The hotel stated they did not have my information on file to stay for the date. This company should no longer be in service and I pray that it happens. There is no way many customers have experienced what I experienced and you are in business. However I will say you have the right one. I will request all recordings to show the lack of service and misinformation which is poor for your company. I will be moving forward to seek compensation because there is no way your company will keep over a $1000 of my money for service that was not rendered. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A TRUST WORTHY COMPANY. YOU WILL NOT FIND IT FROM THIS COMPANY. Within time I know they will be shut down. The ones that experienced this issue we should contact an attorney and file a class action.

Don’t use Trivago

We recently booked the Normandy Le Chantier hotel in Paris through Trivago and paid for 3 nights room only. However, when we checked in we were told by the receptionist that our room was ready but no payment had been received. To be able to stay we had to make a further payment to which we were naturally not very happy. During our stay the hotel very kindly contacted an agent in Greece to chase the payment. The money was received but with Hotel action which they should not have to do. We were not pleased with Trivago and will not use them again. They should stop their fancy advertising and concentrate on improving their service.

After x3 weeks of contacting trying to…

After x3 weeks of contacting trying to get my booking date changed, the dates were auto selected and I did not realise until I completed my booking.
I immediately contacted on the same night I booked to try and get this rectified.

I received no call back and no emails, after waiting for x3 days. So I called and went through the route of wanting to book and I was finally able to get through to someone. Spoke to advisors who said they’ve raised my request someone will be in touch within 24-48hrs, no one got back to me. I called up again they said they’d escalate for me, still I received nothing but confirmation emails.

This went on for x3 weeks until the wrong date of the booking arrived and I called again only to get an email after my call telling me about their no refund/amendment policy. I was so livid, the biggest mistake I made was not reading the reviews. Don’t fall victim like myself, DO NOT USE THIS AGENCY!

I’m sorry but the company/agency sucks their service is completely and utterly rubbish, disgraceful even. I’ve literally been dragged me along for x3 weeks thinking they would help my situation but clearly I was being fooled.
