Rated as low as the Post Office on Trustpilot
This outfit advertise as if they are getting you a deal. The best places at the best prices. Do you really believe that the best places to stay in England are in Premier Inns??? They say that other hotels are unavailable. In reality they are only unavailable with Trivago you can easily book direct. Take a look at their rating on Trustpilot at 1.7 its the same as the Post Office!!!!
Trivago
Don’t use this company!!!. We are in Spain on a motorbike holiday and booked a 3 night stay at Hotel Santa Pola, in Santa Pola. We travelled 300 miles to the hotel when we arrived the hotel was closed for renovation. We spent two hours trying to sort the situation without success and to make matters worse the following day the had taken full payment off our credit card. We have spent a week trying to claim our money back and we are just getting nowhere. Please, please think twice about using this company in the future.
Terrible Customer service
I booked a superior room at The Cavendish in Eastbourne.
On arrival, we were given a tiny room with no windows. I informed them that this is not the room I booked, they said this is all they had and showed me that the room Trivago had paid them for was this room.
I said that I would not stay in that room, they said it’s not their problem, even though I showed them how much I paid.
They told me they are only receiving £54.00 and I should complain to Trivago.
This I have done.
Trivago have been terrible in acknowledging the problem.
Eventually the front office manager told me she was (as a gesture of goodwill) giving me a better room, however they were still only honouring a the cheaper room and would only receive the reduced amount.
The hotel fixed a problem but told me I should write to Trivago as they are fed up with having to deal with these problems (also, it appears that Trivago are keeping the difference in the rate I paid and they received, approx 35% extra)
The Travelodge in Chelmsford needs to…
The Travelodge in Chelmsford needs to be looked at by their head office on lot of things It's the worst one I stay in sofar
There is no air conditioning in the rooms as it cost to much to fit And just spent money on a refit the bedrooms Restaurant Reception and other areas in the Travelodge Even in this heat the rooms have been like a sauna As the company could not spend money on air conditioning units in the bedrooms and even guests have checked out as could not stay there
They have put up the prices for a room even in the bar a can of Pepsi is nearly £3.00 And I was staying there for two weeks your room should have been cleaned as I was told mine would have be done And tge answer to that was No had to go down to reception and get clean sheets for the bed and towels and make my own bed in the Travelodge not good customer service My company has spent well over £1000 for two weeks not good customer service
Until they have nothing to do with…
Until they have nothing to do with Algotels, this company will remain thoroughly disreputable. You can't endorse payments to scamming companies and not accept your share of the responsibility.
Do Not Touch This Company
My horse was put to sleep yesterday, my mums brother has died and I need to fly to Dorset for his funeral on Tuesday. I have sent more than 20 emails to Trivago asking to get in touch to cancel this booking for Tuesday and they don’t even have the decency to contact me back. I have tried to speak to the hotel to make them aware but they say it must come from Trivago. Our family has had the worst week and they don’t have the decency to respond - disgusted!!!
I Will never use Trivago again
Booked a 3 night stay at Bonair Hotel in Paignton by using Trivago. Redirected to Agoda and the Hotel and facilities and pricing was not correct. When I booked it was based on what was described. When I arrived it was a DUMP. There was additional costs not disclosed by Agoda and many other serious/dangerous things at the hotel made me leave immediately and find a hotel elsewhere.
Trivago must be aware that Agoda are doing this to multiple customers yet they still allow them on their site.
I 100% blame Trivago for this lack of protection to their customers and I will never use them again as a result.
Customer service
Hotel was booked and we spoke directly to the hotel who agreed to cancel and wave any charges due to a duplicate booking.
Trivago didn't contact the hotel and cancelled the booking with no refund despite promises they would and hotel asking them to contact them .
Great deals as long as you don't have to cancel.
The emails received are at best design to be off putting at worst intimidating.
Trivago use Agoda who are appalling and Trivago know it!
Trivago use Agoda as of their provides when you search on the Trivago site. Agoda are appalling and the details about the hotels are never accurate with surpise hidden costs when you arrive at the hotel. The hotel will also not be as described and if there is an issue AGODA will do nothing. YET DESPITE THE APPALLING REVIEWS AND EXPERENCES OF CUSTOMERS TRIVAGO KEEP USING THEM.
SO TRIVAGO IS ENDORSING A COMPANY THAT WILL LET YOU DOWN.
I WILL NEVER USE TRIVAGO AGAIN!!!
I booked a hotel for my family and…
I booked a hotel for my family and myself for a weekend break. When we arrived, we discovered that the hotel was also hosting two different weddings at the same time. It was overrun with drunk guests and loud music continuing late into the night.
Due to the disturbance, we decided to leave after just one night. However, we were refused a refund because the company listed on Trivago stated that the booking was non-refundable. I explained that under UK consumer rights, I am entitled to a refund, but they insisted that UK law did not apply to them because their office is based in South Africa.
Unlike Booking.com, there is no way to contact Trivago directly for assistance. Wouldn’t recommend this site
AVOID AVOID AVOID
I foolishly booked 2 double rooms in London at £119 a night each, for August, saver rate, so not refundable. Checked afterwards directly on hotel site and the same rooms are £63. Mis-selling advertising. Total rip-off. Too late for me, but if I can save anyone else suffering same fate, it’s worth this poor review
Arrived at hotel and was not expected.
Arrived at hotel and was not expected.
seen a deal through trivago and booked, and got conformation email. Only to arrive at hotel, and no such booking was made. Complained to stayforlong who would not engage in correspondence and ignored me. Trivago said nothing they could do. Had to complain to AMEX to get money back. Never again
100% Bull💩!!!!
100% Bull💩!!!!!
This company sucks!!!!!
Horrible experience! Got to hotel with confirmation in hand and hotel had no booking at all! Panic for about 3.5 hours then was told they can’t even help find something close and was offered refund plus 5% off future travel. Never will I trust Trivago again!
Booking not found by hotel
Reservation made, confirmed & paid in full on 3/1/25.
Booked through Trivago / Algotels months in advance . Arrived at the hotel at 11pm and the hotel did not have a reservation for us. The receptionist even said that someone from Algotels called the night before to check if a booking had been made under my name and she could not find it then either and told the Algotel agent, though they did not once email me or try and contact me. They took my money in advance when booking was made. The hotel was fully booked so i had to book another hotel at great expense very late that night. Do not book using the Trivago booking company Algotel as you will be left high and dry with no way of contacting them late at night. They have not responded to my email requesting an email so will be claiming it back through my CC.
Beware extra charges
Booked hotel and when confirmation came it said two single beds I chose one double got in touch with trivago they said they could change for me but for a charge of £34.73 a bit steep I thought but I paid it two days later am email asking for another £28.86 as they say prices change day by day this means they would be charging more than booking with hotel direct. Help line asking for all information then tell you someone will be in touch within 48hours by email I now have five replies all saying I have to pay the extra but I cannot speak to any one to put my side be very careful when using this site

Not happy with Trivago
Have booked to stay at the Travel Lodge in Newquay for one night. Through trivago It has cost me £58.99, Through Travel lodge directly it would have cost me £31 for same accommodation. Not impressed with trivago at all. Definitely will NOT use again.
I'd give no stars if it was an option
I'd give no stars if it was an option
The prices bear no resemblance to those shown when clicking through to the "offer".
Needless to say, trivago is lower (30% in this case) than the price actually available. Just loved having my time wasted by these unaccountable, unreachable, unethical timewasters, while I'm stressing about finding somewhere to sleep. Avoid and tell everyone else to tell everyone else to tell everyone else to boycott.
Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware)
Caveat Emptor (let the buyer beware)
I searched on Trivago & booked a hotel on the site that Trivago advertised, Algotels
Reservation made, confirmed & paid in full on 3/1/25.
I arrived at the hotel @ 01.30am after a long flight only to be told that the booking had been cancelled around the 9/1/25 by Algotels / their appointed agent. I had not been advised of this and had to find alternative accommodation @ 01.30am.
Thankfully i managed to get alternative accommodation, however this cost a lot more not to say the mental anguish.
