I’ve experienced multiple issues

I’ve experienced multiple issues, including funds being deposited into the wrong account, repeated calls with no one answering, and having to leave multiple messages without a timely response. I ultimately had to visit the bank in person to resolve the issue. The service at the Williamson branch has been very disappointing, and overall customer service has been difficult to reach and slow to respond.

Impossible to contact

Probably a niche customer, but I have a Truist account and am based in the UK. Because they ONLY do telephone support, I have no access to any of their customer support. VERY poor, in the 21st century.

Chinese customer service

When I call customer service I get somebody from china or Korea that I can’t understand. Although they are very nice if I don’t know what they are saying it’s very frustrating. This has happened on multiple occasions and am know forced to get a new bank, which is a real pain because I have set deposits coming from government.

I agree with the overall average of one…

I agree with the overall average of one star for Truist bank. Lightstream by Truist is an online lending branch of Truist bank. A scammer called me with caller ID of Lightstream and stole all of my money and put me in great debt with Truist, and there’s very little caring on the part of Truist bank for the thousands and thousands of dollars that were stolen from me. The people at my local branch were very nice until this happened.

SCAM online banking promotion

I opened an account with $100 and a few days later the account was locked due to suspicious activity. I called and they said they had no record of the account number given or my SSN. They sent a bakk card that was fake and no record of the number when I tried to activate. Very similar to other reviews. I wish I'd read the reviews prior to this experience.

Locked account -refuse to give reason and refuse to return funds

They were marketing for a promotion that I signed up for- they opened my account took my opening deposits and my first direct deposit (no other transactions were made) and they said they were suspicious locked down my account. Refused to give legal reason and also refuse to return my funds to me. They are a fraudulent banking institution- they cannot legally hold funds without due reason. I have never been turned down for a checking account- if they do this to several 100 customers a month how much interest are they making off of those deposits ?

hate this bank. worst ever in my opinion. get out if you can

they bought my old bank BB&T and my financial life has been a nightmare ever since. I deposited a check from an attorney trust account and asked them to validate the funds so I could access the money. They held all my money for ten day and then they bounced my house payment with a large balance pending. The local branch manager did not return my calls timely, said she did not have the authority, did nothing to help me. I also believe that they post debits before your direct deposits. No one there is local or cares. I believe that they wrongfully held my funds 10 days to validate an attorney trust account check from a local bank is abuse of power.

I called to let them know I would be 5 days late on my loan payment. They assured me that they would note my account. They didn't. Phone call after phone call telling me that I'm late and to make arrangements. I will not ever us them again.

Treated with dignity when I needed it most

“Many banks offer good rates to their best customers, but Truist proved they offer something rarer: integrity and respect. I recently went through a sudden, severe financial hardship. I was ashamed to ask for help, but when I finally did, I wasn’t transferred to a collections department or treated like a number. I spoke to real people who respected my history as a well-qualified borrower and offered me excellent rates and solutions rather than judgment. If you want a bank that stands by you when life gets ‘hard and fast,’ this is the one. Truly extraordinary service.”

Less than a zero. Run, run, far away from this company.

If I could rate Truist at less than a one, I would. A Truist customer was able to fraudulently deposit a check for our business into their account. After working my way through a voice mail system designed to prevent you from reaching a customer service agent, I finally reached a live human who was completely disinterested in the situation and said I should contact our customer and have them file a fraud complaint through their bank. Truist accepted no responsibility for accepting the check.

Holding money that isn't theirs!

Holding money that isn't theirs! So, my boyfriend sent me a payment through Zelle (to avoid the withdrawal fees associated with Cashapp). Truist decides to put a hold on the payment AND block his online access! But they didn't have a problem when I SENT him money through Zelle. Furthermore, (you know men don't listen) 😂 I told him to call them immediately. He calls the next morning knowing that he had an appointment at the VA. They keep him on the phone for over 20 mins! Needless to say I'm looking for him another place to bank.

Bad service, employee with an attitude

I am a regular customer and most all employees in this branch know me. I went in on the morning of January 27, 2026, to the Altamonte Springs, FL, branch near my office to make a large deposit to one account and check on a different account. I was the only customer in the bank. There was one teller (Elisa Cancel) and a number of other officers (?), four (4) of them, sitting in their offices unoccupied. After I made my deposit, I requested from Ms. Cancel a print-out of my other account. She told me that I would have to take a seat in the lobby and wait for someone else to assist me. I took a seat. After a few minutes went by, another teller came to the desk (Jasmine) and asked me why I was waiting . I told her and she immediately printed out my account summary in about ten (10) seconds. I have experienced a bad attitude from the same employee (Ms. Cancel) in the past. Additionally, on at least two occasions in the past two months I have gone in to this branch and tried to get cash. I was told that only Ms. Cancel had a key to the vault and only she could access the cash, but she was out sick. They offered to send my to a different branch if I really needed cash. I have been a customer at this bank since Colonial Merged with BB&T and BB&T became Truist. Several years ago I moved all of my business accounts to another bank because of the bad customer service. They really must want to get rid of more customers.

Worst bank ever

Worst bank ever! Their door indicates they are open until 5 p.m. I went to the bank at 4:30 to deposit a large check, and they're closed! There's at least 5-6 employees in there chatting with each other. If a bank cannot honor their posted hours, the should be closed down!

Never notified about loan information.

I purchased a new car at the end of December with the unfortunate experience of having Truist assigned as my finance company. As of 1/27/26 I had not received any loan information. Via US mail nor email. I had no information about my loan, payment procedures, nothing. I had intended to pay off the balance of the loan as soon as I could. This resulted in an unexpected amount of accrued interest that I wouldn’t have had to pay if I had received the information in a timely fashion. This is entirely poor performance and therefore would recommend not to use this banking agency for anything.
