Tumblr is a site that completely censors artists and writers but allows admitted pedophiles to encourage other pedophiles and groom kids and people to promote hate crimes. Nothing is done about this but they will immediately censor anything that looks like female skin.

I have been a user on Tumblr for around six years now. I have used it as a blogging platform, a place to share my art, my writing and to speak with other fans of similar movies, music and books and to exchange information. Since the company was purchased by Yahoo, it has begun to decline and right wing, and nazi propoganda run rampant and unchecked throughout the site making it difficult to operate as I once did without coming upon what I consider offensive blogs.

To combat a sudden onset of pornographic related blogs, and to save itself from being pulled from the apple store, Tumblr hastily imposed a sudden NSFW ban which banned all photographic of sex, and nudity. But bizarrely specified 'female presenting nipples' which I found borderline transphobic.

As tumblr is considered a safe haven for those experimenting with their own bodies, and explording gender and sexuality freely without judgement or control, its a sad day that these blogs are being purged, but even worse, my own blog, which is decidedly not NSFW (it's devoted to writing for goodness sake!), was incorrectly marked as NSFW and was blocked from being viewed! After submitting an appeal I was greeted back with a rather immature '<3 tumblr' message which told me it was being looked into. I have since gained back control of my blog, but sadly many friends have not had their blogs (which are very SFW) unblocked.

All of this for profit. Its a disgrace!

RIP Tumblr. You'll be missed.

What a shame, a truely shameful app with the removal of nsfw,
Used to be so brilliant I am thoroughly dissapointed, there was already an option to hide nsfw? Why take it away completely.

Tumblr made a terrible mistake in late 2018, which was restricting the freedom of expression for its users. An improperly imposed porn ban leads to hindreds of SFW blogs getting deleted. MOVE TO THE PLATFORM THAT RESPECTS YOU AS AN ARTIST

Boring website! I've never understand why this one is exist!!!

Well, as an Artist I had a show exhibiting my work (in a very Puritan State). I had two pieces taken from the wall and turned backwards, so no one could see them. My pieces challenged thought and involved nudity. Tumblr, is now another “online” community turning pictures around so voices and messages cannot be seen or heard.

Considering all the balls I've seen on tumblr, it is ironic that the company has none. Even 'female presenting nipples' is PORNOGRAPHIC SMUT designed to entice pedophiles...??? TgT

Staff does not know how to run the site and instead of terminating pedophile blogs, they instead terminate all sex related art.

their solution to paedophiles using their service isn't to ban paedophiles and respond to reports, it's to mass-flag and delete all kinds of content on their site, from pictures of fruit to their own post regarding the matter. Yes, their automated system flagged THEIR OWN POST about how the system is working and good for the site.
A horrible site and I will dance on its grave.

I Do not recommend Tumblr to anyone. They have banned a number of blogs, NSFW content and are actively working to stifle free speech. Please use one of Tumblr's competitors instead.They no longer consider their community's best interest at heart because they prefer to pander to Oligarchs like Apple. Please use one of Tumblr's competitors (pillowfort, reddit, etc) for free speech and freedom of expression

Tumblr is going away. They gave in. They will now become an internet memory. Do not bother checking it out. Don't let the hype going on now lure you in. In 10 days this will be a bunch of blogs owned by uptight Catholic house wives dealing with their repressed guilt issues, and trying to tell everyone the latest trend they saw on Kelly and Ryan. NOTHING TO SEE HERE.

Coming from a teen using Tumblr, it has taken far too long to restrict adult content on here. I am on here to blog books! Not to look at child pornography! This is a complete disgrace to all blogging websites. You are uncultured swine! You are so insecure that you add disgusting pictures to a website. This is completely awful! I am sending you a virtual slap in the face right now! Maybe if you try really really hard, you can become at least semi-cultured swine! My teen-hood has been ruined because of you!!!!!!!

The policy change to prohibit NSFW content is discriminatory and without any good reason. Nobody should support this action which makes finding a common community more difficult, especially for those of us who are “different.” I hope the company bankrupts immediately.

This website is no longer safe for artists!!
The website is rapidly deteriorating, they are flagging all nsfw related things but I guess that includes most artwork too, whether its safe for work or not. Artists on this site are getting hit hard, but horrible people like nazis don't have to worry about a damn thing, they are safe and aren't getting flagged.

Terrible. Took down all NSFW blogs. I've been using the app for 7 years now and I have no use for it.

Jeg må på det kraftigste advare forældre om at holde øje med deres børn, teenager om de har denne app og få den slettet med det samme, det kræver kun en mail adresse at oprette en profil.
Dette medie er meget samfunds skadelig og det på verdens plan, håber ikke at der er nogle børn / unge der tror at sådan skal det være, at de skal finde sig i disse modbydelige mænds syge perversitetet.
Har nu taget skærm bilieder at de værste profiler og vil kontakte YAHOO som er ejer af dette medie og der efter politiet

Creating profile, choosing the 4 interest areas, food, men-fashion and photo, admits that I looked at big breasts, but then there seemed to be suggestions for photo pages that turned out to be child pornography, violence against girls / women and last a snuff movie where a woman is killed
I strongly advise parents to keep an eye on their children, teenagers if they have this app and get it deleted right away, it only take a mail adress to make a profile.
This media is very very harmful to society and at world level, hope there are no children / young people who think that they should find themselves in the ill-perversity of these abominable men.
