X formerly Twitter is a failure & disappointment

Where is the X platform on here. I’ll leave it here for now. It’s no longer Twitter! X has become a major failure & disappointment to say the least. It’s pretty clear that the latest move to use algorithm programming to combat ‘negativity’ on the platform is just a way to control any negative criticism of X or him. X is ineffective in so many ways. This is manipulative social algorithmic programming to control people & it’s ridiculous. Free speech not guaranteed reach - well it isn’t free & the reach part is not guaranteed definitely because anything I posted on my profile apart from my pinned post, there was 0 traction even though I had about 5,500 followers which was clear they had done something with the algos.. it took a year to build another 1,000 followers, I called Elon out & it went back up to 6,500 followers then 2 days later back down by a 1000. Clearly playing with your follower account. It is pretty clear they use algorithm control to help their narratives. The reason they say not guaranteed reach is for information control, so X decides who is visible & who isn’t to help control public perception. I put in complaints to their ‘customer service’, which is a bot service only. None of the complaints were dealt with properly & had me around a loop. I still was left with a non satisfactory service. There should be a proper customer service & escalation service. I often gave feedback but you just get ignored. It’s a disgrace. Only 10% of the app works for me. Their monetisation is impossible to attain if they keep you hidden & for some reason their method of paying you was not available in my area….. clearly preventing me from being monetised. Some accounts have great visibility over others & nothing is explained to you why. I see the same high influencers on my feed, even though I didn’t ask to have them there…. X is not transparent. To say this is a free speech/truth platform is hypocritical considering the algo tactics used. Many people have started cancelling their subscriptions to X due to what is being seen. The division created between non payers & payers by Elon altering who can communicate with him ie only paying subscribers is a way to create division. Some people can’t afford it. So that is some of what I say are problems with X. If people can’t be honest about their experience on the app, then they need to leave actually reviews outside the app of their true experiences, because sooner or later this will affect the reputation of X. The negative situations in the world are negative mostly and need to be talked about. X you need to do better. Majority are focusing on finding other ways for expression / other platforms. This is not a quality service at all.

Musk & Co. a Desaster

A so called Brilliant Brain obviously lost the Reality, just like Zuckerberg. Earning to much, selling for too much.....Result "RUBBISH". I really hope, people would just leave this idiotical Platform - which will never happen.

Disappointing Turn for a Once-Great Platform

Twitter (now X) used to be a vibrant platform fostering free speech and meaningful conversations. Unfortunately, under Elon Musk’s leadership, the platform has taken a troubling turn. By openly supporting a fascistoid presidential candidate and promoting outdated nationalist parties abroad, Musk has steered X into the realm of right-wing nationalism.

This shift has made the platform nearly unusable. Constructive discussions have been replaced by toxic polarization, which now seems to be the primary currency on the network—unless, of course, you’re just there for cute animal pictures.

To make matters worse, blue checkmarks, once a symbol of verified credibility, are now mainly associated with payers and right-wing voices, creating an unwelcoming environment for diverse perspectives.

As a result, I can no longer support X. I’ve found Mastodon to be a fantastic alternative, along with other decentralized networks like Bluesky. These platforms offer spaces for genuine conversations

Goodbye, Twitter. You’ve lost your way.

Zero!

If I could rate this app a zero, I would. The platform wouldn’t even let me through with selfie verification—like, what’s the deal with that? Total nonsense. I’m done even trying to sign up for this thing

I would leave 0 stars

I would leave 0 stars. The platform is flooded with right wing creators, hate speach, bots and unregulated misinformation. I have been subject to the most horrendous things said about me and my family. It is a platform for anyone with an axe to grind at marginalised people.over run with bots. They claim it's a platform for free speech. But had a past review removed for stating facts they did not like. Freedom of speech only applies to certain people.

X is the best

After the endless censorship and bans on Twitter, Facebook and all the other major platforms, it´s really nice to have at least one mainstream platform where you can actually say what you mean and not have to think extra hard about if it´s allowed or not. If you just follow the law of the land, you´re good. People who say X is full of hate and misinformation, obviously don´t ever venture outside their bubbles on Facebook or BlueSky or wherever. I´ve seen so much misinformation and blatant hatred on Facebook and BlueSky and reported a ton of it, without any action being taken by the platforms. An example is the endless scam advertisements on Facebook, it´s never ending. Fake companies, with fake names and fake adresses, selling fake things with fake reviews. Facebook doesn´t care because (I guess) these "companies" are paying for the ads. SoMe is a cesspool of bullshit anyways and X is absolutely no worse or better in that regard. X allows sarcastic jokes and dark humor, while BlueSky and Facebook will punish you for having what was considered normal humor only a few years ago.

Avoid X like the plague

Avoid X like the plague, and NEVER give them your money, phone number or your real date of birth. They called the platform freedom of speech, but they got my money and stopped me from expressing myself without proof. For almost a month I keep asking for proof of what they accused me of, but answered with case closed. Not worse the time of claiming!! They make me feel like the worse person on earth.

Freedom of Speech not Freedom of Reach?

I have never encountered a more abusive and dishonest business than X anywhere in my life.

I have been slogging away trying to build up a professional news channel for 3 months. But my account is constantly being put under restrictions without any warning or notification.

I have a strict editorial policy to ensure the professionalism of my channel, and I spend a lot of time sourcing, researching and verifying the accuracy of my posts, and I don't post violence or abusive material, yet my account is constantly being restricted.

Their policy is the absurdly Orwellian "Freedom of Speech not Freedom of Reach". Think about that for a minute.

I have found the platform to be almost malevolent.

Large channels post the most gratuitous violence, hate, images of death, and vicious personal attacks, without restraint or any disciplinary measures ever being applied.

It seems that their algorithm (called "Tweepcred") is deliberately set to PREVENT the growth of small accounts.

I have found trying to build a business on X akin to being in an abusive relationship. They use exactly the same methods of control as an abusive partner does.

They will free up my account every few days keeping me on the hook, allowing some "reach" and a small amount of growth, making me feel good, and that the problems are over, and finally I can get this business up and running, and then BAM without any warning restrictions are put in place again, and I am once again wondering why I am allowing this mafia like platform to do this to me?

And I have X Premium, so I actually PAY them to do this.

And don't even bother contacting Customer Support. You will wait days for an idiotic answer from a low grade AI. There IS no support, because they do NOT care about their customers.

Imagine being treated like this by BMW, or Toyota. Their businesses would collapse if they treated their customers like this.

X is not a "town square", it is a prison where some inmates have special privileges, some are stuck in solitary confinement, but most are in the yard aimlessly kicking stones around.

Mostly it's only purpose is to gather information on the personal and political views of it's users and forward them to intelligence agencies.

So don't fall into the trap that I did.

Avoid X like the plague, and NEVER give them your money, phone number or your real date of birth.

This app has turned to pooh

I had been on X / Twitter for a relatively short period of time before leaving recently. Despite being on there less than a year it became obvious that its owner was deliberately fanning the flames of hatred and allowing misinformation to spread freely under the guise of freedom of speech.

Too many trolls & right wing propaganda

Dreadful social media platform which appears to have deteriorated beyond recognition & now seems to be used mainly by trolls, crypto bros, white supremacists & Temu. There is no moderation which is fine if you enjoy being ritually screeched at by knuckle dragging dimwits but I'd advise any other platform. It's quite clear that this platform was purchased for the sole intention of pushing right wing & US Republican propaganda.

Ever since Twitter was sold to Musk

Ever since Twitter was sold to Musk, it's gone massively down hill. The hate, obvious racism, the threats of violence have increased ten fold. The S** bots taking over every tweet. Don't bother reporting any of the above no matter how vile certain comments are. Nothing happens to the user and the account is free to continue with their hate. The amount of misinformation is alarming too, especially from the owner of Twitter/X himself. I don't recommend.
