Do not buy with this company! Have been trying to get a refund or delivery of stairs which were part of the order and still nothing months later, they also sent the wrong thickness of wood which were also owed a refund for.
Initially had a positive and seamless experience so have given them the benefit of the doubt but this company is not to be trusted.

Very dissapointing service, would not recommend.
We ordered 16mm ash wood flooring, but they delivered 13mm instead. When we complained they said they didn't know how this happened, and offered no apology or refund for the difference in cost. It was only after countless emails they acknowledged they had sent our floor to someone else. Again, no apology or compensation. They rarely reply to an email, their telephone number doesn't work, and their lack of care for their customers is disgraceful. Please do yourself a favour and avoid this company.

Marcus and his team were brilliant, communicated really well, and did a great job. They had a lot do after a horrid flood and literally transformed our house. They were polite and clearly enjoy their job. I will definitely use them again.

We were asked to provide a review for UBW, a company we have engaged with on three separate residential projects. We were originally referred to UBW by a local architect, and since then, we have had consistently positive experiences. As small developers based in Edinburgh, we place a high value on quality workmanship, and UBW has consistently delivered on this front. The parquet flooring installed on each project was of exceptional quality, and the fitters demonstrated a strong work ethic, often working long hours to ensure the job was completed on time. Based on our experiences with UBW, we would not hesitate to engage their services again for future projects.

Not even worth the one star. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not use this company. So many promises and a totally failed delivery of an engineered wood floor after 5 months of waiting, and they let us know literally the day before. We had put the kitchen company off so many times. So many promises month after month, and then we had to fight to get the money back, and after that a further fight every week to get the promised compensation from the costs incurred from storing the new kitchen, because it turned out that UBW didn’t actually have the money to give us. We did eventually get it after daily phone calls. UBW then threatened us if we wrote a bad review.

**Both people we dealt with have requested their names be removed from my initial review (which I have now done) but that also tells you everything you need to know about this company. You will note from their response that they are wriggling out of every complaint. THEY OFFERED to pay the compensation incurred (that we were out of pocket for) on the first delay (that went on for months) but we then had to wait 5 months with almost daily phone calls and in the end threats to Trading Standards. Interestingly though their response to this review was less than 24hours. They are honestly sharks. DON’T go there-PLEASE!! Look at all the terrible reviews first.

The product I bought “Spring Honey” European oak herringbone parquet is fabulous. It went down nicely and looks stunning, I liked the idea of UBW using eco friendly materials to stain their flooring. It’s hard wearing and reasonably priced. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. Nice showroom and knowledgeable guys.

The downside, the leading time of 6 weeks and order was delivered 1 week late, it was worth waiting.

We ordered Nordic Winter engineered chevron parquet from UBW, very knowledgable staff. The ordering process was easy and smooth. Samples delivered within few days with some sweets 😊

Unfortunately the order was delayed and that is the only reason why i am not giving 5 star review. UBW offered 50% discount on installation which was accepted. The fitters worked really hard and long hours, guys where clean and very polite. We absolutely love our new chevron, great quality at the reasonable price.

As a result, they turned a difficult situation into a positive one.

Having never had anything other than wholly positive experiences with tradespeople in the past, I was complacent when hiring Unique Bespoke Wood and did not complete due diligence beforehand or pay attention to their other reviews.

Do not be like me.

I paid a deposit of over £7000 for parquet flooring to be installed in my house in June 2022. We agreed a start date of August 4th and I was told that installation would take seven days.

UBW cancelled late on the evening of August 3rd because apparently the wood had not arrived. After repeatedly chasing them up, we agreed a second start date of August 25th. They cancelled this second date again the night before. Following on from this, there were several similar cancellations, including one where they told me the wood was on a lorry that had been delayed but was about to arrive, but strangely then didn’t materialise.

Installation finally began on September 16th. I was overjoyed. Except UBW only installed the plywood preparation flooring and not the actual parquet. The repeated cancellations started again. I was informed of ‘definite installation dates’ which were then proved to be not definite at all.

I can hear you asking why I didn’t then cancel the project entirely. Only a fool would continue with such a company and allow so many repeated last minute cancellations and obfuscations, right? Well, I did tell them I wanted to cancel. They asked for one more weekend before a start date of October 10th. I am that idiot who agreed.

On October 10th, somebody came! Oh joy, oh rapture! I was told the parquet installation would be complete by October 15th. By this point, I’d been living in disarray for weeks because of the plywood installation so I was delighted even though they didn’t have the house keys I’d given them previously. I am self-employed and work from home and getting any of my own work done was proving nigh on impossible. But the end was in sight. Hurray!

Except … on October 11th, I was told the installation would be finished by October 16th. On October 12th, nobody turned up at all. That was okay though – UBW told me there would be two people from October 14th. There was only one. They told me there would be two people from October 15th. There was only one. They told me they would likely work over the weekend. They didn’t. And there was still no sign of the house keys I had given them. When they didn’t turn up the following week but posted beautiful photos on Instagram of their hard work at other properties, I gave up. Finally.

The project is less than half finished. My garden has been filled with rubbish for 4 weeks which I will have to pay somebody else to remove. There is no sign of my house keys and I am going to have pay somebody else to replace the locks. I have to pay somebody else to finish the work. UBW have completed roughly a third. I have one door off its hinges. There are holes in a wall where skirting was removed. The plywood prep flooring is impossible to clean properly and growing grubbier by the second. I have experienced more stress than you could imagine mere flooring could ever create. I’ve lost money, time and quite possibly my sanity.

As I said, do not be like me. There are other companies out there. Read the other reviews – ALL of them. Believe them. And walk away very, very fast.

If UBW had told me when I ordered the flooring in June that they couldn't do it until December, I'd have been fine with that. All I wanted was to happily pay someone to do a job and who would turn up to do it when they said they would. Another joiner has informed that the wood flooring is 20m squared short of what is required.

Great choice of parquet floors on display and really helpful and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend if you're not sure where to start with looking for a wood floor. The fitters very professional and clean, very happy with new chevron parquet downstairs and planks upstairs.

DONT EVER DEAL WITH THEESE PEOPLE. I have been waiting for my floors (promised 3-5 weeks delivery) for more than 2 month. Only excused day after day. They dont controll the factory, but just working as a selling agent. As everbody else says, all positive reviews are fake (all positive reviewers only did 1 review totally). We lost a huge amount on these amateurs and from my point of view they are scammers. I will personally make a website about them with highest rank on google (couldn't care less about the price) and slash them at all possible facebook pages. I stop the day the company are burned to the ground.
