Very helpful staff
Unfortunately now it's credit scores which determines loans etc,I didn't require a loan but wanted to enquire as to why I was ineligible. This was explained very clearly by a very pleasant member of staff.
Also, I was a victim of fraud a few months back and the bank handled this very professionally and paid me the cash I had been swindled of.
Never have a problem with this bank in over forty years.
FROZEN BUSINESS ACCOUNT FOR NO REASON AGAIN.
Frozen one of my business bank accounts AGAIN. Because I paid an overseas contractor. An Overseas contractor that I've been paying for YEARS. All of a sudden it's an issue and I need to go through the hassle of getting a solicitor/accountant to "Certify" invoices just so I can get access to MY MONEY.
Shocking. This account isn't used to pay staff etc as I opened super efficient business accounts with TIDE in the last couple of years but it's shocking they're not letting me access MY MONEY because I have simply been conducting business.
Typical of a failing bank. AVOID THIS bank like the plague. Once my account is unblocked, I will be lifting all of my funds and moving to another bank.
I have a mortgage with this bank for…
I have a mortgage with this bank for over 20 years with a separate account for a service charge of a set amount deducted every month. Never made any transactions other than deposits, never use debit card, online banking, ATM or a branch, this account is only used for direct debit. All was good until I received a letter informing me fraud had been detected. Once I received my statement, three unauthorised transactions was made going to Microsoft. I called Ulster Bank customer service, all questions were answered until he ask me to call up Microsoft which I have no dealings with nor an account with them and that's when I felt his intentions were not to help but to pass on to another company to get my refund back. Bear in mind the bank statement only list the transaction going to and the amount taken. I'm not going to be made a fool and call a company I have no dealings with and waste mine or their time. I told him his suggestion was ridiculous and he accused me of having an attitude!! Really? When I've lost over £60 from the bank? Eventually he started the process of getting my refund and if I'd like a police investigation, too right I would. Overall, it lacks customer support and the guy on the phone should've paid attention as his system should state a call will be expected from a customer if a letter was issued stating the said cause.
Shocking customer service
Contact only via telephone, taking hours. Social media team answers every question with a question and the next person 'answering' asks the same question again. No email address, no chat function, not even a postal address. Absolute catastrophe.
Horrible Experience with Ulster Bank Fraud Dept
Horrible experience with their Fraud department.
1) I set up a new payee account using their card reader (multiple passwords, etc).
2) I then sent a payment to the new payee.
3) I then received an e-mail from their Fraud dept claiming they tried to contact me to let me know they were blocking my account.
4) I did NOT received any earlier notification.
5) I then called their Fraud dept. After 51 minutes, they answered my call. They did not want to verify my identification. Instead they sent me a link to an app to upload some photos to verify my identity.
6) I am now calling their Fraud dept again. They still have not answered my call after 43 minutes.
7) I have now lost 3 hrs of my time dealing with this CRAP !
8) I am glad I am leaving this Bank.

Absolute disgrace of a bank.My kid went to uni in liverpool, was there 5 days on freshers week and got cornered by a group of lowlifes who forced him to open his banking app at 4 in the morning outside a nightclub and transferred 700 quid into one of their accounts. He contacted ulsterbank next morning and the fraud team did nothing.Couldve called that money back or contacted the other bank and got the scumbags account frozen. They refuse to reimburse him because he had logged in to the app.Was he supposed to risk his life on his own in a strange city..disgusting service from ulsterbanks excuse for a fraud team.
No customer service in Terenure
I called into the branch at Terenure this afternoon at 4.20. It was quiet, no customers. I waited for the assistant to do finish off some cleaning and then she announced that they didnt do bank transfers in the afternoons - they were just in the business of shutting down accounts. "Come back in the morning" she said.
Absolutely dire service.
Been Both A Business And Personal…

Profiling team Incompetent in the extreme.
Incompetent in the extreme.
The profiling team are disorganised inexperienced and incompetent at carrying out their tasks as well as a fundamental lack of understanding of business or banking.
They are a danger to any business. Stopping accounts and as a result businesses being able to function.
If they are working from home they need to wake up and get to their office 5 days a week and stop this hybrid working nonsense.
The profiling system as with UB IT systems are poor and serve to obstruct business.
UB are a hindrance to any business even with good positive balance and cash flow they are intransigent and obstructive.
Steer well clear.
Been with UB for 30 years with 6 accounts under one account name umbrella but yet one set of profiling does not suffice.
The staff have no clue about running a business.
This needs investigated and a complaint to the banking ombudsman.
Cannot overstate how poor the system and those who administer it are. very frustrating.
Ok so your moving out of the irish…
Ok so your moving out of the irish market.... so please answer your phone so I can arrange my account to be transferred to another bank.
Shockingly bad customer service
Shockingly bad customer service, I will be changing banks as a result.
Take your money out now.
If you have money on deposit with this bank take it out now, they will not close our account and we have no access, nearly 10 weeks now, lots of apologies and excuses, no money, our money. Something very suspicious, should be investigated by the central bank of Ireland.
This has to be the worst bank for…
This has to be the worst bank for customer care, especially now when people need their help whilst going to another provider. The credit card team are useless and even the credit card has 2 Helpline phone numbers on the back which are out of service! How useless is that? The sooner I can get away from them the better and they dont deserve any custom for the way they have mistreated people...
They don't support the most popular…
They don't support the most popular smartwatch payment solutions. I would have loved to not walk around without a wallet. Oh well...
You kind of get the feeling that they have one of those dinosaur CEOs that dresses the part and speaks somewhat eloquently but can't remember whether he washed his hair this morning, and takes the credit for other people's ideas. You know the kind that doesn't want to retire otherwise he has to hang out with his wife...
Horrible experience with the Fraud…
Horrible experience with the Fraud department holding up a bank transfer payment, on the phone for almost 2 hours tonight, extremely arrogant person on the phone, I honestly felt he was delaying everything as he could sense I was getting fed up answering all the questions, I'm shocked he didn't ask for my shoe size, I feel it was a complete invasion of privacy, il be calling back to put in a formal complaint. il be leaving UB as soon as I can, the bank has terrible customer service in general.
Only good at putting you on hold and…
Only good at putting you on hold and passing you off to different departments
Did like this bank
Did like this bank. Had good experiences with them over the years. Whenever I had an issue, called them and got professional help/assistance. Feel sorry for those who will lose their jobs.
Poor exp:
Not at the races in terms of mortgage offering. Credit card issues too and got a patronising manger with excuses.
I wore a review last night
I wore a review last night
About how good Ulster bank were-well I take it all back. The people I were tanking to last night were really lovely but I phoned again tonight and was told a completelymdiffenr story.
Ulster bank have no intention whatever of gibing me my money back. They are a bunch of thieves and I very much recommend people stay away from Ulster Bank
Just close already
I have come across to useless companies in my life but this bank has to be the most horrific set up ever. From blocking my card to saying they haven’t blocked my card! To making me re register for internet banking even tho I already had it. The stupid calculator thing to send money. Absolutely prehistoric banking sooner they close the better for everyone!!
Had an excellent relationship with…
