Didnt check or fix my sharp tv.
Sent them my 6 month old sharp 4k tv, went without tv for a week. Returned it with same fault saying they had reloaded SW and tested fine. Engineer was Liam and Aimee was agent. Appalling service.
I returned tv to argos who gave an immediate refund.
Customer service is a joke
Customer service is a joke, took my contact details, but chose not to use it to contact me to inform me that tv was been returned at 8.40am by there courier APC.
Spoke with one of the most unhelpful person (Jenny), who rather than try to sort the problem, decided to remind me the there's a pandemic going on, (is that the reason why no one contacted me to update me on the status of my repair.
I also asked to speak to a manager, but again due to the pandemic, "no one is available"....
I have emailed there customer service, waiting reply.
Good customer sevices. Aimee B was best
I would like to say thanks you to SHARP customer srvices for sorting out my TV fault even though I had lost the proof of purchase but still they agreed to do it on a basis of a good will. I can't be more thankful, specifically Aimee B. She was the best.
My grand daughter bought a tv from…
My grand daughter bought a tv from Sharp 4 months ago through my Argos account. It’s developed a number of issues very quickly (model number 40AJ2k). 1st of Argos refused point blank to take the item back for repair. I then had to contact UMC UK myself only for them to tell me they won’t do anything over the phone and I needed someone to email them all the details. Repair was finally booked when I had to get a family member to sort out emails to and from and I was told tv would be collected 2 days later between 9-5, I arranged for someone to be at home the full day and collection company did not arrive, at 19.30 that evening a guy wrapped the day to pick up a parcel without packaging that UMC said they would send so tv couldn’t be removed even then. After cmcintacting Aimee once again at UMC I was ignored, still no reply to my emails to this day. Eventually tv was collected the following day which was just luck that someone was at home. So a week later I’ve emailed UMC for an update on the status and guess what? They can’t find any fault despite the tv making knocked noises and switching itself on and off randomly. The faulty tv is now being returned back to me (god knows when as there delivery company leave so much to be desired). I’ll be be setting a webcam to capture the issues this week and fighting tooth and nail until this TV set it either repaired or replaced. Should you be thinking for buying a tv from this manufacturer I would seriously reconsider and pay just a fraction more of a brand that will look after its customers and stand by it products. This has been my worse buy and experience in years of buying TVs almost every year. I feel extremely let down and liable to my grand daughter for showing her what I thought was a good deal at the time of her 4k bedroom tv.
Customer service TERRIBLE!
I bought a TV From this company and a cable that It states on the Quick start guide is supplied! Was missing!!
I Called them immediately, the Lady?? I spoke to on the phone was rude, unhelpful and intimated i was lying and that it didn’t state on the guide that the cable was supplied!
Now sent them a complaint and a photo proving them and her wrong.
judging by the reviews on here not hopeful of a reply!
Dangerous
Contacted them regarding Blaupunkt tv falling off wall due to rear casing being of inferior quality and cracking. Therefore 3 of the 4 vesa screw inserts failed. Said that i must have overtightened them. It had been mounted on wall for over a year and failed due the extremely thin quality of its mounting. Said they could offer a fixed price repair of £79.99 but i was not confident it would not happen again so refused.
Terrible customer service
I would go for a zero rating if there is an option.
My son's Alba tablet was totally dead, called the technical support, I guy was really abrupt and argumentative through out the whole conversation, basically saying I am wasting his time for not telling him what I have done to try to resolve it at the start of the call which I definitely did, but then he said my opinion differs from his "technical point of view" which of course does asi would not.need to call him if I have the same skills.
Really bossy tone as well.
Not polite at all, over all very disappointing experience.
useless bordering on fraud?
My 77 year old mother tried using UMC warranty. They sent her an email offering to send a link to access complex ( for most users let alone a 77 year old non computer user) tech instructions to complete a software upgrade using a pc (she doesn’t have a PC). In any case other reviews suggest that UMC’s software upgrades have caused further damage and are a device to generate more money via dubious repair services.
Do not use this company!!!!
Do not use this company!!!!
They are apparently the recommend repair service for sharp.
However I don't believe they are using correct manufacturer's parts.
My tv was 3 months out of warranty when my fault occurred.
On enquiring via the sharp website they referred me to Umc.
They charged me £69 for a fixed cost repair.
The exact same fault has now occurred 6 months later, which they are refusing to fix as the repair is only guaranteed for 90 days!! I have asked for the serial number of the part used and guess what?? My request has been ignored.
Whatever you do, do not use this company!!!!
Dont use this company to upgrade a Technika TV's firmware !
I used this company's website to download the new firmware update for my 50 inch Technika LED TV and followed the instructions on the web page to the dot but the update did nothing but damage my TV's main board and now it wont power on. In fact it wont do anything apart from flash the power indicator light red and blue.
Upon ringing the "Support" line it transpired that the instructions on the website needed amending. The reason given was that if you leave the USB stick in after its finished flashing the firmware - you don't even know when its finished the update however as it doesn't tell you - then your TV's mainboard gets damaged and you then conveniently have to pay them to fix it.
(Anyone who's flashed a BIOS before know that's not correct, once its finished its finished, you don't destroy the PC's BIOS by leaving the usb key in for a while longer afterwards).
With regards to the instructions on their website that killed my TV, they added that they would then let the website manager know that the instructions needing changing and would amend them asap so people in future didn't have the same issue as me and kill their TVs.
No help to me though with my TV now dead. When I pointed this out they simply gave me the phone number of a company who would fix my TV for a price.
Not happy at all with this situation I said I will report their company and they just said fine, then hung up on me. Within a minute of the support person hanging up on me I received an email to say that my support ticket had been "resolved" with the resolution that the TV was now faulty and I would now need to pay for a engineer to fix it...!
umc-uk.co.uk claims it is a UK based company?
UMC-UK.CO.UK claims it is a UK based company. But, it is probably run from abroad. Most likely in Europe. A quick phone call will ring another country. We sent them our television just over 1 year old. The tele has suddenly lost pictures. The television brand name is UMC, initially because they carry the same name, one would think they are authentic. They asked for 79.99 for carriage and repair. After 2 weeks with no communication or acknowledgement, suddenly, there was a phone call saying they cannot repair our tele. But, they can refund in full the money paid to them. Logic: It they are the manufacturers of the unit, they must have all the spare parts for the television. The suspicion is they are a fraud and crooked. They are collecting and selling on peoples' televisions and presenting themselves as a repair centre. The truth is they are not. Just another Rip-Off company. You are warned.
