Review of Unite Students Accommodation Birmingham (Aston University).
I stayed in Unite Students' accommodation throughout my university experience. While my first and second years were relatively good, my final year was truly a nightmare.
In my final year, I faced multiple safety issues, including aggressive behaviour from flatmates, several incidents of theft, a malfunctioning fire door, students setting off fireworks aimed at accommodation blocks, flatmates smoking indoors, ignored maintenance requests, random people entering my flat without permission, lack of support from security guards, and much more, the list goes on…
Despite numerous complaints to the Unite front desk from me and several other flatmates, we were ignored, talked down to, and even laughed at on multiple occasions. Some parents intervened and complained, but the issues remained unresolved. We were told we would be able to move into a new flat after Christmas, but this never happened, despite repeated reminders.
I strongly advise against staying with Unite Students in Birmingham. The staff's appalling behaviour compromised our safety and significantly impacted our quality of living, which in turn affected my ability to study. Paying extortionate prices for a tiny room and receiving such poor quality of service is absolutely outrageous!
I also want to mention that there were multiple rats in the communal outside bin area, throughout the entire year, and the lock to my accommodation block was broken for weeks on end, allowing anyone to enter.

I recently had multiple issues with my booking and the room I had to check into. I reached out to the help desk and I was assisted by Mariam who went out of her way to make sure my issue was resolved, helping me to settle in without stress. I’m thankful for that.

My daughter has had the best year as the first cohort of Urdang students at Cross Court, London. Desmond looks after the students well and really cares about them all. The location is excellent and the building is safe and secure. They are also in the process of creating a rehearsal space for students to use. The walk to Urdang takes 10-13 minutes and Islington High Street, Angel station and the canal are nearby. Make sure to book extra weeks at the beginning and end as the initial contract is for a standard university year.

I recently encountered an uncomfortable situation in my student accommodation when my door lock stopped working. I reached out to the Unite Students Helpdesk and was promptly assisted by Mahsa. She quickly understood the urgency and arranged to have the battery in the lock changed immediately. Mahsa's fast and efficient service resolved the issue, restoring my security and peace of mind. I am grateful for her professionalism and the excellent support provided.

In the past couple of years, Unite has gone horribly wrong regarding communication, services, and even bits in the contract; please book elsewhere and look out for more recent reviews online.
Especially Grange Lane and Leicester, you'll have to fight for the basics, things you paid for, all the time.

Disgusting place that I Wouldn't recommend anybody to stay here. Even though it is cheaper than most acoms it is really not worth it. Before moving here you are offered a choice of which gender you want to live with, this is ignored.
On arrival my bathroom had mould leaking out of the toilet and sink, this issue stayed the whole time living there. We had a flat of 5 young girls and 1 older male. This male had harrassed us, recorded and took pictures of us, banging on our doors in the middle of the night and was threatening to all of us. We sat down and had a meeting with laura the team leader in the office and tom who is another member of staff. After explaining the issues and saying how uncomfortable we felt in our own flat, we were met with awful attitude from the staff. The staff talk down to you and are patronising, they offered no help and accused us of being in the wrong for bringing the issues up. Laura and tom were both extremely rude which many people have agreed with in other reviews.
Whenever you need help from the office the staff don't seem to care, they will ignore requests and log them as sorted. The bins are right next to all blocks of flats. This led to the blocks having mice in the building. The staff tell you there is nothing they can do which is disgusting considering you are still paying alot to live there. The building is not safe, there was an incident where a man was walking around the site meaning security had to check all flats to make sure he hadnt got in. The road is also not safe, cars outside of the accommodation were getting smashed and broken in to every other night. If i could go back in time i would never have picked to stay here my experience was awful and id recommend people to stay anywhere else.

Terrible company. Astronomical prices for terrible conditions. Small room, the mattress is not brand new, kitchen is old, not functioning properly, fridges are too small, as you share them with 10 members.
People leave trashes in corridors, they are 2 lifts only 1 work.Staff is not interested in anything to improve the facility.
There are plenty of drug dealers - staff is aware of this.
Contract which punish you, as you have to take 51 weeks.
The worst company I have ever seen, disgrace to mankind.
I have been living at Stratford One

I met a terrible staff named Saiful at emily bowes court. When the elevator stopped but I had to carry 40kg luggages, I asked him for help, but he refused me. It's hard to imagine that a strong man refused me because“He couldn't lift”and let me carry the luggages as same weight as me to the 9th floor alone. Another time, I forgot that for some reason, he found an excuse to refuse to help me and yelled at me. At first, I thought his hearing was low, so I answered him loudly as well. But he asked me why I shouted at him. It's ridiculous. Obviously, he yelled at me first, and he is a staff, and I was a student resident of the apartment. I don't understand why he disrespects me. I feel that I have been greatly wronged and insulted.I also dare not tell manager, because he knows all my details and my room number. I believe that the management of unite is strict, but I dare not gamble on my own safety, which is also a way of self-protection. When he asked others to write a good evaluation for him, I knew his name. I hope my evaluation can attract your attention.

We had to find a hotel for 2 nights when my son moved in as the room was filthy - even though we had an email stating the room had been inspected and was fine, maintenance admitted that they did nothing to the rooms once someone moved out unless the next person put in a complaint!!
I have photos showing how awful it was and would advise anyone to look elsewhere.

Campbell House is excellent, it has great amenities as well as super lovely staff. Wei Cong and Syed Imran are the two staff members I’ve had most dealings with and they are unbelievably friendly and infinitely helpful, although this goes for all members of the team too. Couldn’t recommend more.
