Great experience getting EVLT done at North KC clinic. Dr Horng and all the staff provided excellent care with all my ultrasounds, surgery and post-op visits.
Highly recommend!

The staff and Dr. Johnson whom I interacted with directly over 4 separate appointments in the past 6 weeks at USA Vein Clinics on N 44th Street in Phoenix, Arizona were kind, professional, and genuinely pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately, that is only one half of the overall experience.
The corporate management, billing structure, and oversight side of the organization has been extremely inefficient and disconnected from patient concerns. Dealing with centralized call centers was frustrating, follow-up was poor, emails to billing went unanswered, and there appeared to be little practical advocacy available once payment had already been collected from a non-insured patient.
I willingly prepaid, as per corporate policy, for bilateral full-leg laser vein treatment (EVLT). The first concern arose when I was verbally quoted $1,900 per leg by the physician but invoiced $1,950 per leg at the front desk. As I was not provided with a superbill — only a credit card receipt — I initially assumed the additional $100 total may have related to the two single-leg thigh-high compression garments I received but later I was informed that they were included in initial fee. It took multiple attempts both on the offices part & then myself to obtain a super bill for my first 2 appointments. I have yet to receive one from my 3rd so more follow up required again on my part.
During that third visit, once on the procedure table, Dr. Johnson first confirmed the scheduled treatment using ultrasound. Throughout the assessment there was open discussion between the doctor, assistant, and myself regarding the findings. At the same time, the assistant completed the corporation’s required recorded verbal acknowledgment of the scheduled procedure on a tablet.
During that ultrasound assessment, Dr. Johnson confirmed that the previously treated primary vein on my right leg from years prior remained successfully closed, as I had disclosed during my consultation. This meant portions of the originally anticipated treatment were no longer required. Instead, accessory branches near the ankle were identified. Treatment of those branches was offered, and I accepted the modified approach for both preventative and wellness purposes.
During the procedure, some veins were also determined to be too small for the standard catheter-based laser approach, and foam sclerotherapy was used in certain areas instead. This was explained to me in real time, and I appreciated the professionalism and adaptability of the medical team. My care providers acted appropriately and in my best medical interests throughout the procedure.
Unfortunately, when I later respectfully requested a billing review given the altered treatment scope, I encountered significant red tape, repeated failures to respond, and very little meaningful transparency from the billing department.
Additionally, the corporation’s own hold messaging advertises self-pay discounts for non-insured patients, yet despite discussions with multiple billing representatives and a supervisor, no one meaningfully addressed this discrepancy or advocated toward any reasonable resolution.
Again, the in-clinic staff themselves were professional, and that is ultimately the most important aspect of any medical experience.
However, my billing concerns with USA Vein Clinics remain unresolved. The corporation’s billing practices, communication failures, and lack of responsive patient advocacy once payment has been secured from non-insured patients leave me unable to recommend them with confidence and would encourage others to carefully explore alternative provider options for overall peace of mind.
UPDATE May 27, 2026
Thank you for the response referring to HIPAA. Not sure corporate billing & administration policies fall within its jurisdiction? However as documented I took steps to have a productive discussion directly utilizing in person, via phone, email as well as your websites online chat forum prior & is exactly why I chose to share experience.

Front desk professional ✅ ensured my insurance and billing was preauthorized, although there was a delay with initial pre-authorization they made sure it was correctly processed in order for me to get the the correct out of pocket before moving forward. Dr. Ball and his staff were awesome, procedure was a little painful, but he was careful and had a great bedside manner! Everything was explained for aftercare and follow up in the next steps in the process. I came in nervous and left satisfied!

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO TO THIS COMPANY. After attempting to pay my bill online three times with my credit card and the website indicating to me that my payment failed all three times, I then called to arrange payment over the phone. That payment processed immediately. Three days later I logged into my credit card account and it showed that those three payments that the website indicated failed had actually gone through. When I contacted them to have this corrected, they said the only option was to send me a check sometime in the next 10 to 15 business days. I am still waiting. Meanwhile my credit card payment is due and my credit rating just dropped 47 points simply because their website had a technical glitch.
Update: This is about a bill. No medical information is being shared. I ALREADY contacted you at wecare @usaclinics.com. My issue is still not resolved. Told on April 24 I could not get a refund to my card because my old card expired and only option was a check, which would take 10-15 business days. After I posted this review someone called to tell me the check was mailed on April 27. I told them I had not received a check and they said they would have someone call me back. No phone call.

I was hesitant about getting the vein treatments advised. I had heard from a number other ladies that theirs had not produced noticeable results. So I looked at online reviews of the various businesses and searched about effectiveness of such treatments. That led me to try this clinic. I am happily surprised at the changes in my legs even though I'm not quite finished with my visits (two more to go). I can recommend this clinic as being worth the treatment and the efficiency of the office. I've got nothing but praise for both doctor and his assistants.

I have dealt with varicose veins for 3 decades, as my mother did. This vein clinic has been an important resource to manage progressive symptoms, from compression stockings to vein infusions. Staff has always been professional and personable, with my best interests as a priority. Both medical stabilization and cosmetic appearance have been monitored and treated effectively. I am grateful for the excellent care I have received here and I plan on using this valuable resource.
