Skip the Line ticket for St Mark's …

Skip the Line ticket for St Mark's Basilica worked perfectly. Just two minutes queueing with the other ticket holders (and those trying to use the wrong queue😐 and we were in. Service from Veneto inside was great. Voucher delivered promptly via email & sms to my phone.

St. Mark's basilica

We booked to skip the line at St. Mark's basilica, it was very easy. We printed out the voucher and follow the instructions, as we where carring a back pack we went to Ateneo San Basso to leave it, the instructions are very clear on the voucher and also on the additional information that they sent, then we went to St. Peter's door also following the directions on the voucher and we've got in in a second. Higly recommend on high season when lines are very long.

Instructions are wrong

Was able to get into the Doges Palace with a lot of chaos. Instructions on validation ticket they send you after buying, is not in any way correct. I bought this ticket on vacation- on my phone, and had absolutely no way to print the validation ticket. The instructions say you can take it to the ticket office at the Doges Palace and they will print it off for you- wrong. They don't print anything. They tell you to go to the tourists office, which I went too, and the lady there told me that they don't print tickets- so I was sent to another location 5-6 blocks away. And if you know Venice, 5-6 blocks is a recipe for getting lost. I eventually gave up, walked into a Hotel, and kindly asked them if they would print my voucher for me. They did, and I was on my way. Overall, the Doge's Palace is absolutely worth every penny, but the instructions on the voucher are completely wrong. Save yourself some time, find a printer somewhere to print the voucher before going in because they do not accept it through your phone.

Dear Bergenn Hedrick,
thank you for your review. Actually it is not clear to us where you read that your voucher will be printed at the Doge’s Palace… Neither the voucher nor the confirmation mail stated such a wrong information! Both online, in the useful info section of the ticket, and on the voucher it is clearly indicated that the voucher must be printed and presented at the ticket office of the Doge's Palace or at the Correr Museum in order to convert it into the ticket valid for the admission. The confirmation email with the voucher attached said ‘The voucher is the only valid document and you can present it to our staff either on a paper copy or on a mobile device (smartphones, tablets or other devices) according to instructions specified on it’. We would appreciate very much if you could tell us where you read this wrong information in order to correct it immediately! Thanks for your help!

Best regards,

Vouchers must be printed

The email confirming the booking for the Doge's Pallace stated:

"The voucher is the only valid document and you can present it to our staff either on a paper copy or on a mobile device (smartphones, tablets or other devices) according to instructions specified on it."

II presented the voucher on my smartphone and it was refused noting that they required the document to be printed. The attitude of the ticket agent was also very unfriendly.

Dear Charles Stephens,
we are sorry you did not read carefully all the instructions included on the voucher, otherwise you would have been warned about the necessity to present a paper copy of the voucher at the ticket office. In fact, as indicated on the voucher ‘The VOUCHER proves that the booking has been made successfully and it must be PRINTED AND PRESENTED AT THE TICKET OFFICE of one of the museums which are included in the Pass in order to convert it into the ticket valid for the admission’. We apologize, as for the bad behavior of the employee at the ticket office, but actually we are a reseller of these tickets only; therefore we will submit your feedback to the Human Resources Department of the Vence Civic Museums.

Used prepaid Voucher in Venice for St. Marks Tower as well as St Marks Church in Venezia. Well organized and could skip the line who was waiting for buying the ticket. If you have the short time visit to Venezia, surely recommend to use this.

Don't Use!!

Very simple booking just for a private water taxi from the hotel back to Marco Polo. After a couple of confusing emails (but no problem) we settled on being picked up at 3 hours before departure and that was fine at 10:10 am

We arrive at the hotel and we have a notification that the water taxi will be with us at 9.30am. Of course the offices not open at week-ends until 9.00am on a week-day so cannot even contact anyone over the week-end to query it.

Well it turns out the "Private" water taxi has another pick-up and they were flying out much sooner than us so we have to go 40 min earlier and it cost me €64 for two people. On top of that it was raining on the way back and the luggage got wet as no good place to put the luggage except inside the taxi and there is no room for a large case as it is designed for people.

Take my advice and use the public service - much much cheaper and though a bit slower is actually a better journey and your luggage won't get wet!! We stayed very close to St Marks and the Public service stops there anyway.

Reply from Venetoinside.com

Dear John Baxter,
thank you for your review.
We would like to note that you did not book a private water taxi but a shared one, as you should have read online, before booking. In fact, you paid €64 for 2 people only, private taxis are much more expensive! This is the reason why the transfer stopped to pick up other people…
Before your reservation, you had an e-mail exchange with my colleague Alessia who clearly explained you that the pick up is authomatically organized 3 hours before the flight depature time (this is the standard procedure for all the transfers to Venice Marco Polo Airport). Therefore, your voucher stated that you will be picked up at 10.10 am. Unfortunately, due to the large number of departures scheduled after Easter day, the organizers were forced to move up your departure time at 9.30am. We apologize for this! Anyway, the voucher you received after the online booking procedure includes an emergency phone number to contact while offices clousure. We are very sorry you did not took advantage of this service in order to ask for clarifications about the time change.
As regards the luggage room, we would like to inform you that no water taxis have it! However, you can bring your suitcases with you in the taxi cabin, but only if there is space enough, as a matter of fact, usually luggage has to be left close by the taxi driver, or rather outside the cabin.

No compassion

Buyer beware. VenetoInside has a no cancellation/rescheduling policy and they mean it. In April 2017, I reserved a time to "Skip the Line" for entry to St. Mark's Basilica and entry to the Doge's Palace for July 2017. Unfortunately, I clicked the wrong date for the tickets (note that the graphical interface for their weeks begin on Mondays not Sundays) and purchased for a day we will not be in Venice. I realized my mistake minutes after making the purchase. I immediately asked for a reschedule for the correct date or a cancellation. They responded that it's "it's not possible to modify these bookings" and "both reservations are not refundable". Even after I bought new tickets for the correct day, they were unwilling to cancel my tickets for the wrong date. Even with pleading. 77 Euros wasted. I can understand having a policy that disallows refunds after some period of time or within X days/weeks of the event. What I do not understand is having no grace period and no consideration for the fact that I am booking 3 months in advance. They have no compassion for their guests who make simple mistakes and try to fix their mistakes immediately. I can't believe that they would like to be treated with such disdain and such a lack of grace when they travel.

Dear Mark L,
actually we don’t think to deserve such a bad review… Because of your mistake! We are transparent in informing our customers about our cancellation policy. Some products, such as tours, transfers, …, can be cancelled up to 72 hours prior the service without any penalities; others, such as the ones you booked, unfortunately cannot be modified nor cancelled, but we are clear and transparent in notifying this important information to our customers before they book! We can assure you that we have compassion and great consideration for our customers and do everything we can to meet their requests. Unfortunately, it is not always possibile, especially if you ask us to refund a NON-REFUNDABLE service.

VERY GOOD SITE

VERY GOOD SITE. BUT IT WAS HELPFUL IN A FEW PLACES THAT I SPEAK SOME ITALIAN AND COULD GUESS WHAT THE SITE WAS REQUESTING. SOMETIMES THE ENGLISH WORDS WERE MISLEADING. FOR EXAMPLE, AFTER ENTERING THE PAYMENT DATA, A PAGE WAS DISPLAYED THAT HAD THE WORD "CORRECT" ON IT. AT FIRST, I ASSUMED THAT THE PAGE WAS INQUIRING IF THE DATA SHOWN ABOVE WAS "CORRECT". SO I CLICKED ON THAT, ONLY TO BE PLACED BACK ON THE PREVIOUS PAGE FOR CORRECTIONS. HERE THE WORD "CORRECT" WAS USED AS A VERB INCIDATING THAT A CLICK ON IT MEANT THAT YOU WANTED TO "CORRECT" THE DATA. IT WAS NOT AN INTERROGATION AS TO WHETHER THE DATA WAS CORRECT OR NOT. i WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU REPLACE THAT WORD WITH THE PHRASE " MAKE CORRECTIONS", WHICH WOULD MAKE IT SIMPLER IN ENGLISH TO UNDERSTAND WHAT WAS BEING INDICATED. OF COURSE, THE "CONTINUE" BUTTON SHOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD CLUE. BUT I WAS CONFUSED FOR A BIT.

BUT ALL IN ALL, AN EXCELLENT SITE.

We booked skip the line to Dogenpalast …

We booked skip the line to Dogenpalast 11th of April 10:45 - but we have to stay in the line abaout 60 min. (When you take the meeting point ime 10:30 to the door it was 1:15) This was due to bad organization. You can not term all different groups at one time with a maximum of peopel in one group. It is clear that more then 150 persons in skip the line again produce a line - this was really not our understanding of a good service.
The following was OK. We do not claim the performance of the guide!! Only the performance of the organization, so the boss!!

Dear Egon Swoboda,
we are pleased you appreciated the guide despite the long waiting time before accessing the palace. After getting your complaint we contacted the staff on duty at the meeting point on that day and we found out that there had been some inconvenience due to the large number of participants. We apologize about that! If you read the other reviews published on our portal you could realize that it has been an isolated incident since this tour runs always regularly and our staff always do their best to guarantee our usual quality standards.
