Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I had an emergency appointment out of hours early hours of monday morning. The staff were great and treated my dog with care and respect considering the animals condition and kept me updated. They did their upmost but unfortunately his condition was not great being old and too sick would recommend this veterinary service

Vets Now responded well to my initial, web based enquiry about treatment for my cat. I was able to bring him in immediately on a Saturday evening, which I was relieved about. Impressive, thorough examination followed, with medication and plenty of explanation given.

Completely mis diagnosed my dog on new years eve! Admitted her. Drip blood tests. Ultrasounds. Sedatives....
Sent her home next day saying gastro issues. Took her to my normal vet within minutes found a broken tooth. Vets now bath hadnt even examined her mouth and completely wrote her symptoms down wrong on medical report our normal vet provided us with.
Have recalled payment through bank as a dispute for failing to provide services offered.
Also involving vet ombudsman.
Awful service
Ripped off
Dog suffered!
Our vets today operated and removed broken tooth without ripping me off

Very good manner and precise advice.
Confirmed in a good email summary. Fully aware of signs to look out for which would necessitate a visit to our vet.

Was seen quickly. Vet very informative. Explained everything very clearly. Only downside is the very hight cost when you have no choice.

You have a virtual monopoly for out of hours services and take full advantage of that in the ridiculously high prices charged. That is not the basis for a fully happy relationship. The vets were of course fine and did a good job as they usually do. After all that is their job.
The admin was a bit better than last time as vets now contacted me to start the claims process with my insurers. I still though had to pay and claim back as I didn't have all the insurance details to hand. In an emergency your concern is for your pet not the admin. Shame you don't retain details from previous claims to enable you to claim directly against the insurers.

They were thorough but the consultation fee of £300 is extortionate £100 would be acceptable for out of hours!
We had to look up the problem they diagnosed as we were not sure of the prognosis. We had a further consultation in normal vet hours to establish what we should do with regards to treating our dog

They were so kind!! I was so stressed when I got there with my Guinea pig who’s been unwell and it was quite late in the evening and both the receptionist Tonia and the vet Anna were so kind and reassuring and gave me peace of mind, they treated Butch so well and have offered a temporary medication and stimulants whilst we wait to see the day-time vet next week. So grateful for the service. Many thanks!

Terrible service all round.
Call centre was a slow and tedious process, when clearly out of hours vets are used when people are worried, it should be quick and easy. Vet forgot to weigh pet before prescribing, so then had to redo. Medication initially given was 4x the strength needed, so this had to be reissued. Vet didn’t send notes to reception in order for me to settle the bill, so we had to wait for her for to return to do this. Reception then overcharged me by £26 even though I told her I would initiate the claim directly with my insurance company, she still charged me a fee to do this themselves.
Every step of the process was poor at best.

We were greeted by a friendly caring reception team, that despite handing over on a shift stayed to help us with our dog in our emergency. We didn't wait long, the vet was thorough caring and explained everything really well.
Would definitely recommend this surgery and team to friends and family with pets.

The vet care was good but absolutely ridiculous cost!

I cannot really fault the vets or support staff or even the admin as it was all excellent. But the prices charged are extortionate. Nearly £300 for an out of hours consultation. Drugs supplied at many times their market price. Even a £25 injection fee. You are at their mercy because your pet is in dire straits. Also in our area Vets Now is the only OOH service available. I am glad the CMA is investigating and I urge all users of vets now to fill in the questionnaire.

My dog was rushed in with sudden seizures - the team stabilised and treated him amazing! The team were able to reassure and calm me also explaining everything they were doing and what needed to be done.

They saved my dogs life. I can’t thank them enough. They kept us informed throughout the whole ordeal.

The vet was very competent. The prices are, however, astronomical. £586 for consultation and a blood test (Rosemary Lodge, Bath).
