Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Honestly, to put it lightly, you all saved our Lennies life this weekend. After Vets4Pets didn’t help Lennie very much and he became so weak we really thought it was the end but you all sorted him out. I couldn’t more highly recommend all of the vets who looked after the cheeky chappy even if he was a bit of a pain for you at the end!

Very helpful over the phone before I attended, explained the prices, as it was a Sunday £302 consultation... something needs to be done about these out of hr prices...

I would describe our experience as great under the circumstances but the care, attention and sensitivity of the vat and staff was excellent and couldn’t be faulted.

All the staff at Vets Now Newport surgery in Langstone were efficient, understanding & explained clearly what treatment our cat needed & received.
We were even given tea & coffee while we waited & the receptionist apologised for the long wait which was due to several emergency cases being treated.

My dog was seen immediately and had a thorough check and everything was explained to me. He was given pain medication there and then and I had some to take home with us. He was treated very well whilst there which helped his anxiety at being ill and at the vets. I was given lots of information as to what to do with him at home. I would thoroughly recommend these vets.

The vet was really helpful and all the people there really sweet.
The fees, however, were extortionate and the meds were disgustingly overpriced. The same medication that I could buy online for £12, cost me over £80. And they charge to prescribe, when they have already charged £302.50 just to be seen.
All the local vets use VetsNow for their after hours care, so they have a monopoly and they are completely taking advantage of this and bleeding people dry.
This will only stop people from bringing their pets in and causing suffering in animals.
For care I would give five starts, value for money I would give -5.

We were concerned that our guinea pig so called out-of-hours. Our call was answered quickly and an arrangement was made to see the vet within an hour. Everyone was friendly and efficient. The vet saw our guinea pig straight away gave a thorough examination. She showed genuine concern and talked us through possible causes of the problem. Medicine was prescribed and good advice given which was reassuring to hear.
