Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Only use if no choice. The vet gave medication that may have helped but had to give injected form of drug orally as they didnt have any of the oral medicine. Filthy consulting room. Vet very brusque considering the news she was giving.

On first glance, vet was no help over phone and was telling me to pull a stuck puppy out. I wasn't risking that on my girl or her puppies on getting to vets now all vet wanted to do was sort paperwork out and get payment details. While my girl was in pain with
a puppy stuck in the breech position.
After what seemed like ages she finally went for a emergency c section.
Luckily she is insured as the bill was over 2000 pounds.
Could have lost a puppy,

I found the insurance claim process confusing. As far as I was concerned I had paid on the night. I would suggest that the process needs to be more clearly explained while at the Vets. At a time of worry and anxiety it is hard to take in especially in the middle of the night. The vet was ok. However, I will not use this out of hours again even though it is the one recommended by my own excellent vet. I will use another local vet who has an out of hours service who I have visited before.
The receptionist was friendly.

Prices are ridiculously high.and I feel if they were lower pets wouldn't get neglected. However staff were ok.

I visited the vets now in wolverhampton on sunday 7/4/2024. My dog had some tests done and a scan that showed blood in his belly. we were told that my dog would need a operation at a cost of £6,000 to remove his spleen and told he would lead a normal life after this. Vets now wolverhampton told me he would be better off having his operation at the willows vet hospital in solihull for 24 hr care. vets now wolverhampton still took just under £600 from me before i got out the door to take my dog to solihull. On arrival to the willows solihull we were seen by another vet. This vet explained to me that if my dog has this operation he would live approx 3months to 12 months because of the risk of infection and any other findings with the spleen operation. A different story to what the Vets now team told me . The vets now wolverhampton are a money taking game and in my eyes do not care about pets. My dog was only 8 years old and sadly we had to have him put to sleep. if i had been given the correct information from Vets Now wolverhampton, i would not of travelled to the willows solihull. The willows vet was very honest with me and my wife compared to the vets now wolverhampton. we as a family are devasted with the outcome of the loss of our dog. We will never step back in the door of the vets now ever again and cannot believe they took just under £600 from me for 30mins of their time, shame on you
Tried emailing the address given on reply from my review but the email keeps coming back as a postmaster failure .... .............

The vets were there for us, and were very considerate of our sadness, helping us to make decisions on our pets treatment.
I will just say that we had to phone again to get someone to the desk, as we were left standing for a while. But on the whole, we have no complaints.

Upon arrival, service was quick and efficient. Lovely staff and lovely receptionist and great care was given to him ant his overnight with the vets. Unfortunately Eddie didn’t make it and deteriorated rapidly upon returning home and passed away.

Honestly the worst experience I've ever had with a vets! Reception staff wearing vet clothing... yet the vet my dog saw was sat the in some addidas tracksuit like it was a gangsters meeting at the end of the street! She then proceeds to tell me that my dog has a collapsed throat and needs to have a camera down her throat, she even went as far to tell me that my dog may pass out from lack of breathing but that's fine (yeah because that's normal) and sent me on my way with my dog! Obviously after this crazy unprofessional disgraceful experience I didn't trust a word the lady said so took my dog fo my normal vets soon as they were open... to find out that in actual fact my dog had kennel cough.. which is an extremely common respitory illness in dogs (bit of a dif from saying my dogs throats basically collapsing and stopping her from breathing)!! Ofcourse after this I've refused to pay them £285 for such a crazily inadequate service and complete misdiagnosis of a simple very common kennel cough! That's not where it ends though unfortunately, after speak to people there I filed a complaint (to which I'd accidently sent to incorrect email) however when I called to ask about said complaint the lady turns round and tells me they dealt with the complaint and still expect the funds, this was a bare face lie as after investigation I'd realised my complaint hadn't even sent to them! Honestly if you want to be conned then go visit vets now in Wolverhampton! They are utter crooks! Have finally made my complaint to which the lady I spoke to was very apologetic at what had happened and said the complaint would take 35 days! Will update with thier reply! I have even gone as far to explain I will happily go to court with them regarding this amount and show plenty proof of their pi** poor service and how said vet should be struck right off

Very expensive for an emergency vet’s, was only in there 5 mins. Didn’t seem to know what was even wrong with my pet, threw out ‘could be’ didn’t even offer any medication nothing. Still had to take my pet to our vet’s the day after and pay again. Rude service from both vet and reception, a ‘can’t be bothered’ attitude. Didn’t reassure me my pet was ok. Overall, would not recommend.

Great customer service but checking in needs to be quicker especially if an animal needs to be seen ASAP other than that excellent 👍

A first class experience from reception, right through the treatment process, making a traumatic event that little bit easier. Couldn’t say anything remotely negative!
