For a business based on providing IT services you would have thought that VM Business would have a seamless way of contacting them and getting thru to the right department, so stage 1 a dreadful experience. Hours and hours being transferred around from pillar to post every time, attempts to contact them by phone. The automated "ask us a question" is completely useless and from an end user point of view frustrating in the extreme.
Stage 2 upgrading a business router, which VM insisted upon, necessitated by a change of business name apparently, resulted in no landline for a week! A totally unacceptable business interruption.
Stage 3, promises of phoning back to make certain things were operational, never fulfilled.
Stage 4, with the installation made 10 or more days ago they still haven't made arrangements to collect the old router.
This is an ongoing matter and I suspect there will be more examples of dreadful service. I bet they attempt to take payments from our old bank account!
I will certainly be exploring an alternative provider in the future.
The scores on Trustpilot says it all without any care from VM it would seem, talk about take their customers for granted, there is zero customer service so beware.
Virgin Media small business does not even deserve one
star. I give them no star. I got connected on 28/02/2025 i have no steady connection since the connection, i complained 15 times
they showed no interest in providing me a good service or fixing the problem instead they are trying to sell me a booster 12.99 a month
They want send a engineer if I pay 25 pound fee.
Worst broad band provider ever
I cant tell you how much i regret using Virgin Media.
There customer service is the worst I have ever received.
Customer services keep calling up all gleeful expecting to close the ticket as the issues is "fixed" but as has been explained over and over its not that the broadband is down, it is the fact the 1gb service is connecting to most of the internet at less than 10mbps.
Its clearly an issue with the static ips but they keep treating it like it's an issue with the coax line to the local cab which does have a lower than idea signal but that's not the fault we are bothered about.
And let's not discuss ipv6...
I signed up for Virgin Media Bussiness (with a 7 first month discount promotional offer), while having an existing contract with Virgin Media (i.e. the non-Bussiness). I was told that there will be no early termination fee over the phone because it is the same company. On the agreed day of installation the technician from Virgin Media Bussiness came and completed the installation and took the old (SuperHub) modem. They messed up with the installation big time as they sent the wrong technician so they had to rebook. In the end, they also never let me know of my customer number so I had to cal them over the phone and ask.
On the first month, received bill for my old Virgin Media account (the supposingly closed one). I called them on the phone and they told me to ignore the bill as it takes time for the changes to take place. I said, please are you sure? They said, yes dont worry etc.
On second month, I keep on receiving bills plus now an overdue note from my old Virgin Media. The e-mail support from Virgin Media Bussiness is a joke as they literally never reply e-mails no matter how many times you write to them. I received a bill from Virgin Media Bussiness today that is without the promotional discount offer for the first 7 months, as it should be based on the contract.
I am completely teriffied by these people. I just can't believe this company is real! Someone please help me. I wish I could go back in time and never choose Virgin Media Bussiness.
So bad it is unbelievable.. what the hell is happened to Virgin media.. I've been trying for weeks to get through to them and I end up talking to someone in the Philippines. That can't even talk English. I have now cancelled my account with them and I will be going with a different company.. please do not use this company
Appalling customer service. Failed to turn up 3 times on the trot just to do a site inspection to fit fibre broadband. I honestly thought BT weren't up to much, but this lot take the biscuit! Avoid!
Shocking service and the broadband constantantly goes down. If there was a lower score, I would give it! I am at the end of my business broadband contract and have rang up three times to cancel and three times I have been put on hold by the agent as soon as I mention cancel. Through the contract, we have lost internet multiple times weekly and they cannot seem to fix it. I am sat waiting again for someone to just sort the cancellation out (34 minutes in to the fourth call and counting!). DO NOT EVER GO WITH THIS COMPANY FOR BUSINESS BROADBAND
Do not switch to virgin media we have had problem after problem please do not use their services
Supposedly a smooth transition from 02 Consumer to 02 business - don't believe them, 8 days without any service and no sign of that changing. You can't run a business without a phone - avoid at all costs, certainly wish I had!
I have had an absolutely terrible experience with Virgin Media.
My business custommer number : 312355501-001
It took them six months to move my broadband connection, during which they kept rescheduling the installation over 30 times via text messages. After half a year, they now want to add a phone line with a number that has not been working for the past six months.
To make matters worse, they charged me £48 per month via Direct Debit for six months, despite the fact that I had no internet service during that period. I made numerous phone calls, sent emails, and received no resolution. I eventually had to file a formal complaint with Ofcom.
In November, my business broadband contract for 2 connection ended, and I submitted an online Disconnection Form for second place. I received confirmation of the cancellation, yet since December, Virgin Media has been trying to charge me twice (£48 x 2) and even after I cancelled my Direct Debit, they are now threatening me with letters.
The worst part of this experience is their customer service. The agents I spoke to had such strong accents that communication was extremely difficult. It is clear that Virgin Media has outsourced its customer support to a budget-friendly overseas call centre, and unfortunately, this team has no coordination whatsoever with the department responsible for installations and broadband connections.
After six months, my connection was finally installed, but now they keep pressuring me to accept the service and contract—I refuse to pay for a phone line I do not need or want. Today, I received yet another bill for £48—but for what? I have no active services with Virgin Media. One contract ended on 25th November, and the other one is invalid because Virgin Media failed to fulfil their obligations.
On top of that, Virgin Media does not provide true fibre optic broadband. The quality of their connection is terrible. I switched to Hey Broadband, which provided me with a genuine fibre optic connection delivering 920 Mbps symmetrically—that means upload and download speeds are the same. Meanwhile, Virgin Media still offers a miserable 60 Mbps, which is not even 10% of the speed I now get with another provider.
Dear customers, I highly recommend avoiding Virgin Media. Instead, check out providers like CityFibre, Hey Broadband, and others. Just search for "Fibre Optic Broadband", and choose anything other than Virgin Media. 🚀
If only you could choose 0 Stars! 7 days into the stupidity that is Virgin Media. #F011694085 is my job number and I have been trying to get these people to join the dots between their departments for 7 days. All they need to do is replace 1 length of cable and I can have the service they sold me as an upgrade. I have actually had 6 years of near perfect broadband from Virgin and they installed an upgrade pack and it has not worked since. For me, no tills, no credit card machine, no voIP phones and no functioning accounts system or emails = they are putting me out of business.... Or they would if I had not installed an O2 4G network from their partner company. The levels of script reading stupidity adopted by the Virgin technical teams is on another level. Run away from this company, even Richard B would not use them!!
YES IT IS!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! PLEASE, AVOID IT, AT ALL COSTS!!!
FIND ANOTHER SUPPLIER AT ALL COSTS!!
Terrible policies, terrible service, terrible customer service, terrible terms, overpriced. Everything combined makes it possibly the worst company to deal with.
Currently at work using my mobile data to write this review. Constantly drops out, multiple times a day for a minute or so. Not reliable at all. Much better than the days and hours the phone and or internet was down repeatedly for about 6 months just over a year ago. Customer service will hang up after an hour and half and unless you threaten them with ofcom for a recurring issue you won't get a case manager to resolve your issue. Absolutely shocking on so many levels of and they'll offer you a tenner a day compo for their stuff being down 😂 we had a dongle as a backup that never worked too despite 3 engineers coming out for that alone. When the internet is working it is very fast but it's so unreliable it's pointless, try another company as I fail to see how they can be worse. Virgins poor service has easily cost us thousands in lost revenue as a small business. Joke of a company
Very disappointed in service.
I'm new customer and installation cost me headache even i paid £50 for it.
Engineers make a mess with a cables, never secure it, just left it on the walls and floor.
Landline number transferring it's next level quest. i still have to pay 3 month payments to old provider. Just because Virgin never contact XLN to port my number. I have sent 3 times Port in form to the Virgin.
This company is a pure nightmare, problems all the time. Starts with pure organization of the installation, phone number not transferred from previous location, router needs to be restarted twice a week otherwise will just lose Wi-Fi and alarms looses connection. The customer support is a bunch of *****. Completely disorganized. Idiotic rule about 3 months notice no matter if you contract ended, so i have to pay them for another 3 months and they are not willing to move the internet connection to another unit i am moving, i have to sign in for another 2 year contract. If you can get your business Internet from anywhere else, you will regret it. I had the same painful experience with private internet when it came to moving, problem to disconnet, emails about how i do not want to return the old kit even though they failed to collect which they said they would. Bad joke. Virgin never ever again.
Excruciatingly bad service. Signed contract for bundle 21/11/24 still no business o2 sim 2 months later. Despite >14 hours on the phone trying to draw blood from a stone. Customer service terrible as undermined by incompetent call centre staff, internal processes must be in serious difficulty. Can see I am not the only victim! Wish I'd have checked Trust pilot before getting into bed
Virgin Media Business are without a doubt, the worst company on the planet. I would very strongly advise that you do not trust them with your business requirements as, you will regret it. Read the reviews. We can't all be wrong.
Virgin Media's promise of a "seamless connection" clearly fell short, especially when it mattered most for your business. Backup solutions like a 4G dongle are meant to offer peace of mind, but when they fail, it can lead to significant disruption.
The lack of effective customer service only adds insult to injury. A long wait for support, coupled with navigating automated menus and an unresponsive chatbot, is unacceptable, particularly for a business customer paying a premium for reliability.
Canceling the dongle seems like a reasonable immediate step, and exploring other providers who offer more robust support and reliable backup options could be wise. Additionally, you might want to look into alternative 4G/5G backup solutions from providers that specialize in business continuity.
I have been a business customer of Virgin Media for several years and the broadband works fine - as I would expect and is the same for all providers I've had.
My business is highly reliant on the internet and so I pay more for the provision of a backup 4G Dongle for "seamless" connection. Which today, when I needed it, nothing happened. After a Google search I found that it is the correct colour... there's just no internet. Seamless this is not.
So I tried contacting their customer service. Calling was utterly useless with a myriad of automated menus so I then tried the website Bot... And I am still awaiting support "shortly" after 90 minutes and trying to make do with using my phone as a hotspot.
I'm going to cancel the Dongle today and seriously going to rethink whether moving network is the best option.
