Don't use Vodafone in Italy if you don't speak Italian
In September 2023, we purchased a vodafone SIM card in Bolzano, Italy. We wanted a local Italian phone number for ONE month. This SIM card did NOT work, so went back to same store the same day and had to sign up for NEW SIM card with the assurance that the charge for the NON-WORKING SIM would be reversed. THE CHARGE WAS NOT REVERSED. Secondly, even though we explained that our use for Vodafone Sim would be for ONLY ONE MONTH, after returning home and checking credit card statement, Vodafone is now charing us for another month of usage. Vodafone.it web site does NOT have an English translation, so I am unable to contact Vodafone or unable to process a request to stop charges. Had to file a dispute with credit card company to attempt to get recurring charges to stop. We've had nothing but problems with Vodafone in Italy. If you don't speak Italian, don't use Vodafone Italy.
Company is a legalized SCAM
This company is nothing but a legal scam to target tourists into thinking it is a ligitimate cellular phone company provider. Purchased what was supposed a sim card for 120 GB for 65 euros at the airport in Rome on arrival. Was not able to use the cell phone or text messaging. Many dead spots. Data quit working at 484 mb. Even though they are selling to tourists not from Italy there is no way to contact customer service in any other language other than Italian. My wife purchased thought Wind, a seemingly legitimate company 2 weeks prior and had Zero issues. I will be returning to Italy on a longer term basis in in near future and will look for a different provider and advise everyone I can to not deal with scam company
No comment!
Got SCAMMED with Vodafone tourist SIM
They are absolute scam artists. I got a tourist SIM card for 3 different prices in one day. 35€, 40€ and 50€!
I bought a SIM card from a Vodafone store for 50G for 50€, which I finished in a day.
The next day I went to another Vodafone store to recharge my plan. The guy said it was not possible and I needed to buy a new 50G SIM for 35€.
So I went to the first store to ask the guy why I was charged more (also he said it was rechargeable, which it was not). He denied he said it was rechargeable and he said I needed to buy a new 50GB for 40€. And once I told him he sold the SIM card for 50€ the day before, he got aggressive.
I started recording him for my protection. And then another staff member locked the door demanding me to delete the video. I passed the phone to my partner who was outside of the store to keep recording and call the cops.
Long story short, we did not get anywhere, no refund, no conclusion. 1 hour later I passed a third Vodafone store and they said the 50G SIM was 50€. When I asked how is it possible the other store was saying 40€ and another one saying 35€. He said I don't know go and buy from them.
I had the store card to contact and lodge a complaint but the website is not vodafone.it and even the email address on their card are not working (although all these stores have the Vodafone logo and cards).
Conclusion - Vodafone Italy is the biggest scam I have seen. I just emailed vodafone.com to see if I can get anywhere with this issue to stop other travelers from getting scammed.

I would give negative stars if…
I would give negative stars if possible. We closed our wifi account at the end of May. Spoke with someone and followed all the procedures. It took them 3 months to close the account and we were charged for the whole time. There's no way to get in contact with anyone to help. We finally got in contact with someone who was the rudest person I've ever spoken to in my life. He wouldn't answer our question, yelled at us the whole time, and HUNG UP ON US. Honestly.... never ever had I experience such horrible service.
Money parasite!!!
It’s not the worst company. They are legal scam, it’s not only their services do not work properly as promised, there is no way to solve any issue with customer support, they send you bills with non existent charges, they send you bills after closing contract with them, they charge you fees for not paying in time and there is no way they refund there mistakes or stop billing you. A parasite!!! Never ever do anything with them.
Vodafone Italy is the worst internet…
Vodafone Italy is the worst internet provider in my life!
All technical support answers are “to restart your router!”
Thank you, but I already know that your router works terribly, and when asked to change it, the company manager says that they cannot do it, because they they see no damage on their part.
But every day I see it, and I have already sent them about 50 photos as evidence.
Гавно internet for 25 euros a month.
Totally worst experience in my life !
3Mo prepaid ended in 3wks!
I prepaid a 3 month high data plus foreign calls from anywhere in Europe plan.
First, the store that activated my phone gave me the wrong phone number for my phone.
There were so many times that I could not connect to the internet unless I got onto a restaurants’s wifi though my plan that supposedly includes complete internet service everywhere. I’m not tech savvy, but I know enough to ask someone to help me and each time those people couldn’t figure out why I couldn’t have connectivity either.
Then, just 3 weeks into my service I got a text message from Vodafone that I’ve used up all my data (WHAT!?) and will now be charged €0.22 per megabyte. I’m a 59 year old and not at all tech savvy (don’t use the phone much) so it’s not possible that I’ve used much data at all.
The so-called customer service line they provide, as many of you have no doubt discovered, does not work so there’s absolutely no one to help you. Their ChatBot doesn’t answer questions even though the specific questions it says it can answer it doesn’t , and refers you again and again to the customer service line that does not work.
Huge ripoff with no customer service at all. If you’re lucky enough that it works for you for three weeks then consider whatever you’re paying is only good for two or three weeks. Don’t pay for anything more than that if you can’t find another cellular service.
THIEVES!!
I was at Mediaworld, and i spoke with a vodafone representative about a new phone and plan.. Everything went well, i chose the phone. They took my 99.99 euro, And as soon as that happened the system crashed.. No phone, No contract. And its been 1 month repeated phone calls and documents sent showing i paid them and still no refund.. What a Useless thieving company.. ANd the emplyees on the phone, have got to be the most incompetent humans on the planet. Im leaving to another company.. good riddance
Why is there just nothing good to say about this company?
This company is just horrible! And here are just a few reasons why:
1. The worst customer service: Besides that they are not available via mail (as a company providing internet...), when you call them and made your way through a ridiculous long annoying questionnaire with their bot, you are rewarded with long waiting times to finally reach someone (that much being said about a company offering phone service to people...).
2. No italian cellphone number? - No internet contract possible! It might seem absolutely absurd for a international phone and internet company and is really sad, it is unfortunately true: Vodafone Italy is not capable of providing you with an internet contract for your home without you having an Italian cell phone number (sorry but are you guys an international company or what?!)...
2. The customer service in the local shops in Trento.. It took 2 months for Vodafone to finally install internet in our appartment. As you can imagine, this makes working from home definitely challenging. Therefore, during these 2 months we were constantly chatting with the local shops via WhatsApp and going there in persons multiple times. I cannot believe that in the end it 8 weeks were needed for them to finally instal the internet box in our flat. And at first they sent us the wrong box which was of course to be expected... I guess...
3. Cancellation takes long and please don't think that you may return your VODAFONE box to a VODAFONE store. No, if you would like to avoid paying a 70€ fee for the box and a 20€ fee for cancelling your contract in person, you'll need to cancel you contract online and bring your box to a TNT store. It is IMPOSSIBLE to rentun the box in the store to VODAFONE employees..
4. Reliability of the internet. It really has its phases of fast and slow internet so that streaming is rather dependent on vodafone and the weather not your free time. Sometimes it is just really slow and other times it gets slow when it rains. What can say.. 5G for the win..
Overall, the food news is that I have not made a worse experience with a different provider before and there are many other companies to choose from. Even compared with Vodafone Germany (which was not capable of cancelling a duplicate contract for 6 months..) Vodafone Italy is an absolute disaster. For us this was the last contact we made with vodafond in general and I cannot stress it enough, if you have any other option, literally ANY other way, then do yourself (and your family) a favor and stay away from this company.. cheers!

Bought a 3 month 300gb SIM from Vodafone in Florence. So far I have only had a few sporaic minutes of internet access, the rest of the time the internet is so slow, nothing loads on my phone.

Avoid the shop at the terrazze la spezia despite having already collected payment from a presto red card insisted for a pin number just in case I needed to change the card and refused to give me the free offer for a new client.
I was literally scammed.
I was literally scammed.
Ordered and payed for a SIM and never received it. Phone support could not help me. Store could not help me either. Worst experience ever.

Just bought a sim card today,DON'T RECOMAND!!!!!!!,NO COVERAGE AT ALL,1 LINE AT 4G AND THEY TELL YOU IT'S A 5G
They suck.
I just rate them with a star because I need to do it. Worst service ever, the seller assured us we could use it in every country we listed him and in the end it didn’t work in most of the countries. The customer service is as 💩 as their phone service. Bunch of scammers.
total unprofessional
the support centre for Italian customers is located in Albania. The people there barely know how to speak Italian and are rude and unprofessional. One of them actually hung on me abruptly telling me not to call the centre anymore ( i was trying to calmly explaining how the disruption affected me a lot due of my "smart" working). The problem wasn't solved and decided to change provider after 11 years wit vodafone
Vodafone.IT is absolutely rubbish
Vodafone.IT is absolutely rubbish. Data is non existent. Had to rely on Wi-Fi in various establishments. If it’s crap here, what is it like elsewhere? Can’t wait for my contract to end
Thieves
Thieves! they deactivated my 2 numbers for a one week delay in payment and they disabled both the calls I made and the calls I received to my numbers which were related to 3 commercial activities! huge economic damage! without warning in any way! thieves and that's it!
"GIGA FAMILY" OFFERS ARE A SCAM
My partner and I signed a two years plan with Vodafone in Milano where we were supposed to pay 42 Euros a month for two Sims with unlimited 5G (among other advantages) and WIFI Internet at home (Fibra).
A couple of month later, Vodafone sent us a message that they are "updating" the contract, and now we pay around 53 Euros a month and we got downgraded to 4G.
We are stuck with these thieves for 2 years and they can technically "update" their contract anytime they want, which seems incredibly illegal.
Do NOT sign anything with them.
