Vodaphone - AVOID

Signed up for Vodaphone Fibre Broadband, and should have checked this site first. All their helpful staff are on sales calls - very easy to speak to somebody to be signed up - but once you are, all human contact vanishes. The promised activation date came and went - and all issues have to be via web chat which takes hours as their staff either type 1 character a minute, or are dealing with 50 calls at the same time. When they do ask you to call one of their phone numbers for cancellation or support, expect to be on hold for hours and hours, with a pre-warning message of "With are experiencing problems, your call may take an extreme amount of time to be answered, OR MAY NOT BE ANSWERED AT ALL TODAY"... then they play the same 2 ghastly songs on loop over and over. Its like some type of mental torture.
AVOID!!!!

Sales agent lied when opening new account via webchat - BEWARE

Second issue with recorded next day delivery this week (another company). Because of it, I decided to create a Trustpilot account. I paid for next day delivery, despite the agent on chat confirming that I would receive it tomorrow (asked twice), my receipt shows that I will receive it a day late. Why lie???
You can now sign up for a contract via an agent for Gigacube. Seamless? No.

Suggest you call them or actually go elsewhere for sim only packages.

BITTERLY REGRET GETTING VODAFONE FIBRE BB

I have never had fibre broadband. I was tempted by an offer on the Martin Lewis website to get high speed fibre BB for £17 month from VODAPHONE. With any old BB (lots of different providers) I have never had a problem with up loading or down loading but was looking forward to higher speeds with my new contract
THE FIRST THING THEY DID WAS TO ADD VAT.
I was surprised but had already signed up. Now I discover that with a private (i.e. non business) number they are not allowed to do that.
BUT THE WORST THING IS MY BB IS HORRENDOUS. It drops to nearly zero at any time.
I have spent hours and hours on their helpline. Apologies and promises of refunds but no refunds and no improvement. I have even e-mailed the German chief exec but not even an acknowledgement. Thanks Martin Lewis for advertising a company which has NOT signed up to the OMBUDSMAN. Don't you think you should take an interest in how they operate?

I bought a pay monthly sim in case I needed it for a work phone, of which I have never used yet I am still being charged. I am have been on the phone with a customer rep for an hour now repeatedly asking to CANCEL. Why the jeff should I be charged for something I've never used and never plan on using.

RUBBISH company, RUBBISH customer service.

Vodaphone

Vodaphone, oh dear oh dear - what the hell has happened to this once mighty customer service driven company, I know what's happened and you won't like the answer.

So we moved from Vodaphone after being a loyal customer since the beginning, this is where the problems started. Having installed a new sim in my unlocked iphone all was well in the world. However installing a sim in my wife's samsung then all hell broke loose. I was presented with a message 'sim network blocked, enter sim network PUK'. So I dutifully applied for a PUK and no this din't work. So I used Vodaphone's rubbish DM facility, this is where the fun and games began, I'll be brief here as even typing this is sending my blood pressure through the roof...again

3 hours of DM, 12 agents, numerous repeating of my security information despite saying right at the start I has passed security, I was finally told they could not help me and the phone went dead, stone cold dead.

So I thought what any normal sane rational person, I thought knickers I can't be bothered so I took the phone to a well known high street chain for unlocking, they failed and said this is a 1 in a 1000 phone that they could not unlock and it needed a Master Unlock Code (MCK) so this I what I did, in-fact don't bother just read the DM paragraph above and you'll see where that got me with Vodaphone, they didn't even bother getting back to me.

So Vodaphone, I am £30 out of pocket for a failed unlock, I had to buy another phone £179.

I think I'll stop there, any more and I may just have heart failure - never ever ever again will I go near Vodaphone and there so called expert support. Oh and in-case you were wondering where this all went wrong, in-fact I won't go there, all I can say is my new supplier(s) are a UK based company that still want to provide frontline, fix it first time customer service.

A final footnote to this sorry saga - because I spent so much time writing to them and searching for hard to find phone numbers I am inundated with Vodaphone offers across my entire social media platform.

My wife has this week spent many hours…

My wife has this week spent many hours ( over a period of 3 days) on the phone to Vodaphone trying to correct a previously agreed contract deal.
The original contact, agreed several days ago by phone, included benifits which, on receipt of the order by email, were missing. (My wife had specifically clarified that these benifits were included in her original conversation with Laura).

On Thursday my wife phoned again and was transferred around several departments (over a period of 2 hours), but found that nobody could correct the problem. In fact Vodaphone insisted at one point that the benifits could not have been offered.

Finally in exasperation, she ran the "complaints" department and was eventually advised to go to the local Vodaphone shop in Lancaster (a trip of 25 miles and 2 hrs) in order to sort things out. Fortunately the shop staff were superb and the job was done - we hope! (if the new phone arrives on time)

The "complaints" department rang this evening, as agreed, to see if all was OK and to discuss compensation. The amount of compensation offered was derisory at £20 max. This was declined and the representative (who was working from home) said my wife could phone again to discuss - again more stress!

The time and stress caused to my wife by this company cannot be imagined. What should have been a simple contract renewal (we have been with them for years) has turned into a marathon liaison with a disjointed customer service department.

It is unbelievable, and a disgrace, that a large company like Vodaphone can tolerate this and subject people to such a poor customer service. Look at the recent Which Report to confirm this.

Vodaphone Cannot Provide A Working Unlock Code

I have a vodaphone contract I took out for a phone over 2 years ago.
Once the contract was finished I wanted to move, with my existing phone, to another provider.
In October 2021 I requested a PAC code to unlock the phone, as I had a new SIM, from another company - this did not work. I contacted Vodaphone to say this and this is where the trouble started.
Over (currently) 4 months they have obfuscated and explained that they are helping me (whilst doing nothing) Its always "Im sorry for the delay or Im sorry you feel that way) nothing gets done as they kick this down the road. I have been into store 3 times (to no avail - they also say they will do something - (but do nothing)
Its a complete joke - you always get yet another joker from customer services, on messenger....Ive had over a dozen now. All useless - they could not care less if you complain - they are happy to do nothing. Its obvious I need someone with technical ability - I just get an administrator from heaven alone knows where (Ahmed & Mohammed being the latest pair or do and know nothings) In fairness to Vodaphone they are the worst company I have ever come across and that must be a world record.
DO NOT BUY OR ENTER INTO ANY CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY. I'm currently stuck paying for something I cannot get out of and is, of course, overpriced - and the best suggestion they could make (in store) is that I go to a back street shop and get the phone jail broken.

Messers, Avoid this company.

unfortunately we have a business account with these bunch of absolute jokers, disconnected our business phone and broadband without telling us because they themselves for some reason did not set a direct debit up, been on the phone to them for around 4 hours and although they've been paid the problem has not been fixed, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere, Vodaphone are a shambles and a disgrace and shouldn't even be trading.

It’s the worst company I have ever…

It’s the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have decided to leave my contract as I’m sick and tired of them you literally cannot get through to a single “human” person to speak to. When attempting to cancel my contract it tells you to ring a number which I did which then tells you to do it online and disconnects you. You try and do it online and it tells you to ring the number that disconnects you, in the end I was forced to ring the complaints line and after being on hold for 53 minutes they try and out you through to retentions! When I finally got through to them that I want to cancel I get confirmation, however a month later I haven’t received my final bill and I’ve been billed as normal. I get disconnected on the 14th feb and they are charging me up until the 3rd March. Yet again spent time chatting to someone - online- to day the bills are auto generated and you pay in advance for the phone line but I’ll be refunded in 22 days time - I replied well I don’t pay via DD so can I just have my bill generated for up until the 14th feb - no apparently not - what betting I don’t get my refund and they try and bill me as normal next month. Are these regulated my anyone because I can’t believe a company is allowed to trade like this …..

Worst phone company and customer…

Worst phone company and customer service.

When you finally get past the chat bots to deal with an actual person you then have to spend ages waiting for them to sort your problem.

If the agent takes longer than 8 mins between messages you get cut off without warning!

Dreadful IT systems

I was promised £5 a day for delayed connection. I got repeated messages suggesting it never registered completion, and when I used the chat session to complain, I got the money, but discovered how awful that IT system was, it took 30 minutes, re-verifying my details over and over again, and sending timeout messages seconds after operator messages.

All this agrravation could have been avoided by picking a valid connection date and not chaning their mind 10 minutes later

Friendly staff in Inverness store

Expensive but I hike much in the Scottish Highlands and find vodaphone has better signal than other providers in awkward places, I know this as I have 2 phones both with duel Simms. Really this review is for a lady in the Inverness store, I was suffering a panic attack but she was kind friendly and sorted my phone for me with great empathy, so thank you to that lady, you stopped me panicing and made my day a whole lot better :)

A disabled relative who is ninety years…

A disabled relative who is ninety years old recently was admitted to Hospital. Because of the wards landline having a poor reception I decided to get one of my mobile phones topped by Vodaphone with ten pound credit so that we could communicate. The phone was working perfectly. On trying to contact her we found that the phone was either switched off or dead which was strange. When she was discharged I checked the phone and it was working. On checking the credit there was no phone credit and the Big value bundle would be renewed in a month. I informed Vodaphone that I was not interested in a monthly bundle.I checked what calls were made, it had 27 calls to my landline and 29 calls to my daughters mobile, when no calls were received. I explained the situation to Vodaphone who were not concerned and didn't show any interest, so that is the last time I will have any dealings with Vodaphone.
