We have been using vonage for our communications for our business and recently we lost all communication. They said it was a new regulation and we have to wait to get "approval" however we were never given any warning or told we needed to register the number until we no longer had access and lost our option to send and receive text. This has caused major issues in our business and when we reach out we cannot get ahold of anyone or get help. It has been really frustrating.

Terrible support. I've been without the ability to text for a week. No support.

My business name is COMPRECOVERY and I have been with Vonage by default. 1) I can NEVER get any support. I cannot call, I cannot email and the chat service is not always available. If it is, it takes forever. Vonage support is rated at 00/100. I registered with SMS and Vonage charged me already but the service is not available. If my registration is pending a review, why am I being charged? 2) I'm being over charged every month despite rates going down and competition going up. I only have one line and I'm a sole operator. Why am I being charged $47.89.
Vonage wants to replace humans with machines, but it cannot eliminate the human factor when its existence is contingent upon humans. Its customer service and support are poor and things will get worst. I will not recommend this company and I will find a competitor to switch my services.

Do not top up your account before verification. They will rob your money and you will not get a cent back from them. TERRIBLE situation. I tried to implement their API on my website for 2FA and they blocked my account (no reason, no dodgy SMS sent, just 2FA codes). I am still waiting for a refund. Usually, they respond to messages, but if you ask for a refund, you will not hear back from them

Update: Moved this to 3 stars after talking to their partner support team, they were much more helpful than chat support. Still somewhat slow getting 10DLC complete but seeing some movement.
Slow support times and one of the longest 10DLC registration processes on the market. Use someone else if you plan on sending SMS

terrible service, Incompetent techs that only do chat. They could explain how to add an extension

I purchased a vonage subscription and they charged me $40 twice from the same card and later after few hrs they cancelled my account and flagged my account for fraud activity whereas I did not even use the account and haven't even refunded me my $80 for the subscription or services, not recommendable + bad service from certain departments..

I contacted their support with a simple question, what is the email address for the privacy department, or legal if there is not a specific address for privacy?
What ensued was a 25-minute back-and-forth about how they effectively could not give me that information, including a couple "I'm still working on this; allow me two more minutes, please." I thought about believing what they said - as strange as it seemed - because companies are weird about which ways you can contact them these days. Try *calling* YouTube, for instance.
So I start searching their site and any mention of the word privacy and an @ sign. If anyone happens to be wondering, it's on their privacy policy page, plainly available to the public. To be fair maybe I should have checked there first, but to be fair to me, maybe the CS rep could have told me to 24 minutes earlier too, so..
Turns out either the CS rep was just intentionally difficult or they have such a backward-thinking policy on providing the information that is asked for, that the CS rep was forced to be difficult.

I applied to open an account with these people and was told that we could set up an account in the following 4-5 days. Despite repeated calls and online submissions from me, I heard nothing from them.

Customer service sucks! We’ve been a customer for 15 yrs and just today the experience is apalling! They couldn’t understand simple instructions! And kept repeating! They even cough at you while on a call! Disgusting!

My attempt to purchase services from Vonage Business has been nothing short of frustrating. Two weeks ago, I initiated contact with them and spent 30 minutes on a call discussing my needs. They requested documents and assured a response within 24 to 48 hours. Despite promptly submitting the documents, I received no response after a week. Multiple calls and emails went unanswered. In desperation, I posted a negative review, to which they responded, requesting my details. However, it's been two weeks since, and there's still no reply. Vonage Business's lack of communication and poor customer support make them a regrettable choice. Avoid at all costs.
Not only is Vonage overpriced, but also has horrible customer service. After being unable to upload my new credit card for payments and opening a support ticket, Vonage cancelled my account and sold my toll free number. What a horrible business!

When I first came across Vonage, I was genuinely excited. Their offerings seemed promising, and the initial interaction left me optimistic about what was to come. Sadly, the shine quickly faded once the contract was signed, revealing a reality far removed from what was promised.
The first crack in the facade was their customer support, or rather, the lack thereof. Initially responsive and engaging, the support team became nearly non-existent once they had my signature. Questions went unanswered, concerns were brushed off, and it felt as if they had completely forgotten about the principles of customer care. This was frustrating, to say the least, but it was only the beginning.
When I decided that Vonage's services were no longer for me, I was met with a cancellation process that felt like it was designed to be as cumbersome as possible. Not only is there a hefty early cancellation fee that feels more like a penalty for escaping their clutches, but their policies regarding non-renewal are absurdly strict. You're required to notify them THREE MONTHS in advance if you choose not to renew your contract. Thankfully, I remembered just in time, but even then, the process was far from simple.
Following my initial email to terminate the autorenewal, I had to follow up with a phone call, during which I was informed that yet another document was needed to finalize the termination. This runaround felt unnecessary and deliberately obfuscated, a stark contrast to the ease with which they had welcomed me into the fold.
In reflection, my experience with Vonage has been a rollercoaster of disappointment. What began as a hopeful venture ended in frustration and relief that I could finally sever ties. For a company that initially presented itself as a beacon of service and support, the reality couldn't have been more different.
I share my story as a cautionary tale for others who may be considering their services. The allure of their initial presentation is strong, but the aftermath leaves much to be desired. Buyer beware, for the glittering facade hides a maze of policies and practices designed to bind and hinder, rather than to support and enhance your experience.

I decided to get the vonage app for my new company because I thought it would be more convenient than carrying two phones around. The concept is great but the app was terrible. Half the time when I would get calls they wouldn't come through if the app wasn't opened. I would be at my desk and get an email notification that I had a voicemail but my phone hadn't rang. I would open the app and then it would show the missed call. I started to keep the app open in the background but if I was using a different app when someone called, it would ring but wouldn't let me answer the call. I would then access the call log to try to call them back but the missed call history would take almost 30 minutes to update so I could see who called. I finally had enough and decided to get a second cell phone. Before activating my account with vonage I asked the sales person if I could port my number if it didn't work out. This was important because I would have thousands of dollars spent on marketing that would have this number on it. They assured me I could. What they failed to inform me about was that the number they were giving me was a landline and only a few cell providers can port landlines. After spending hours to find a provider that could port the number for me I found out that land lines typically take 7 to 10 days to port so now I won't be able to recieve any calls for up to 10days for my business. Although this may end up costing us thousands, it is money well spent to not have to deal with

Tried 3 times to book a call to setup a very simple cloud telephony service, no answer and last minute cancellations without any reason. Absolutely not professional, will definitely save my time next time to look for more reputable companies. All reviews here are likely to be fake.
Update as of 28.02, one week later. No one showed up, not a single email despite I gave them my email address. Shame, they lost a potential good customer. I'll look somewhere else.

As a business owner, I am taken back by the lack of professionalism and dissatisfaction by those on the phone. I keep getting transferred to fake sales reps who are oversees, they take all your information, waste your time and then never follow up. I had to follow-up TWICE, both times they asked for "Verification" that I own a business lol. Vonage is the only vendor I know that a business needs to go through 'verification' in order to speak to an actual sales rep. Unreal!
Nonetheless, I send over my 501c3 IRS Letter, and the rep had the nerve to question that because it's was a screenshot. I mean a simple IRS search would have shown the same. I got tired and just hung up.
I dont know what type of business you guys are running, but this goes to show if I am having this much trouble with reps before I even inquire about their product, I dont know how much of an issue it'll be using them.
*Lastly, I sure am noticing a lot of 5-star reviews here with very similar feedback. It makes me wonder whether they're actually real ..?
