Progress at last!
My refund is in my account at last! It took some work from the the manager in Australia to work with the managers in Germany so I’m very grateful to her! I’m hoping that this experience can only help others. Now I can comment on the fact that the product is good and my son uses it for his coursework. He had no problems setting it up after a quick phone call to the tech dept.
Eco Initiatives?! Not really!
I understand they have to make new products, so they don't update old tablets. But funny that they support sustainability (see the link on the website: eco-initiatives.
I have an old tablet that works fine and that I can throw away only because the drivers don't support this one anymore. Wacoms advise: use windows (I have an apple) or use an old Mac (haha buy and old computer only to make the drivers works) or buy a new product.
Great businessmodel for them, but not for me as a client and for the environment. Take an example at Patagonia Wacom. Thanks for forcing me to buy a new product.
Appalling customer service - avoid
Appalling/non-existent customer service.
The short version is that when my goods didn't arrive they told me to contact the courier directly. How do I do that? I have no contract with the courier - they do. My contract is with Wacom. Trying to get my money back through the credit card company I used to pay.
This device is very bad
This device is very bad. do not buy it. waste money.
One is that it responds very slowly, even connected to laptop by cable.
Second is that it does not work for drawing a curve.
Today I wanted to use my device which…
Today I wanted to use my device which is a couple years old, but I cant use it without giving Wacom access to everything i click on my keyboard EVEN IN OTHER PROGRAMS. I tried contacting them but that is basically impossible
Trying to contact Wacom is hard work.
I purchased a Wacom product on line but prior to that I tried to get information from them in order to help me decide which item to buy. They were very poor in giving me feed back and on Twitter they didn’t even reply.
I continued and ordered and they sent me an email which should allow me to track with UPS but it doesn’t work. Instead I get an “Opps” message. Apparently the info is out of date. So I’ve been trying to contact them using their web site. It is very complicated and took me around in circles. When I did eventually find the correct page it told me they were closed.
I hope the product is better than their customer support which in my experience is rubbish.
Change for better
Two years ago, when I had to buy a Wacom product, it was a disaster. I had many problems and spent around two months on calls that cost me around 100 Euro, and almost every aspect besides ordered Cintiq was terrible.
Now I had a different experience. Everything was almost perfect. I had a slight problem with the website, but it was solved in minutes by a fast phone call to support. The service, delivery time, and product are perfect. Maybe I was unlucky earlier or lucky now, but this time transaction was a great experience.
They still have to pay me back!
I bought a Wacom tablet, then changed my mind. I refused the UPS package at my doorsteps.
I've never received my refund.
I called multiple times, they opened 4 cases: they said they would contact me back I never got an answer....after 4 months I still have to receive my money back.
I am so disappointed at Wacom.
I will never buy one other product from them.
I'd like to give zero stars
I'm giving one star, as I can't give zero stars. My USB cable has failed and as they don't make the type I need anymore, (for a tablet that is only a few years old), their suggestion is that I purchase a new Wacom tablet.
Disgraceful customer service.
Wacom are devious liars!!
Today I sadly found out that Wacom aren't reliable, they are devious and have shown their true, money grabbing, colours. I no longer trust them and would definately never buy one of their products again. Why? Well, I have a 24HD Cintiq and stand. I decided the stand was too bulky and put the 24HD on an arm instead. I had somebody interested in buying the stand to use on 27QHD so I contacted Wacom to see if it was compatible. The respose I got was "No its incompatible with the 27QHD, you'll need this stand". I was sent a link to the official 27QHD Wacom Ergo stand priced as £499. Luckily I was sceptical and invited the potential buyer to fetch his tablet to try and see if it fit. Well, the 27QHD fit perfectly with all the mounting holes in the right places and worked a treat. The only issue was how the cables route through the stand but it was far from "Not compatible". Again Wacom show they don't care about the user and are happy to cream extortionate amounts of cash from their supporters by lying and blatantly telling you you need to spend £499 when you don't. Shame on you Wacom...shame!
In desperate need of a superior rival
I use a Wacom Cintiq 27qhd with an iMac 5k as a professional comic artist and illustrator. I mostly use photoshop and Sketchbook pro and when the Cintiq works, it works extremely well. Annoying little problems, however, are so regular and routine that it's getting tiresome and I'm desperately on the lookout for a decent alternative I can rely on (anyone know?). The usual issue is whenever there's a driver update or software update. Every single time I've updated photoshop or my Wacom, another problem is triggered. Usually this involves a function key not working. This causes delays and messes up my workflow. Every time you update a Wacom driver you have to manually delete every single Wacom related file on your machine if you want to reduce the chance of a problem occurring. This is irksome, tiresome and a unacceptable for such an expensive piece of equipment. With software updates you have to do the same and or spend hours trying to figure out how to fix a simple malfunction. Their customer support is patchy, sometimes good, sometimes appalling depending on who you get. I've often been told to install a much older driver that "works well with photoshop". Why do they issue driver updates that don't work as well with current software?? Why would anyone do that?? It's ridiculous. I'm so bored with this I hope there's something better out there when the time comes to buy another machine, because I doubt I'll be looking for another Wacom product unless they really get their act together. Currently I don't think Wacom has any real competition at the high end (cost wise) or professional level. It desperately needs some because the company just can't be bothered to deliver what should be a AAA service and reliable product to its customers.
Wacom stresses me out and I don't trust they care. I will be changing companies for future product purchases
I used to use a Wacom intuos small for several years on a PC unit, and a bamboo fun for several years before that, also on a different PC unit. I currently have used Cintiq 24 products for the past 3 years
My intuos small is about 7 years old now (2014-2021) and still works, but I had to replace the connection wire about 3-4 years in since the wacom-provided one died from frayed wires. This is the same way my Bamboo fun (which only lasted about 4 years) died as well. There were greater issues with these tablet drivers however, which I will address later.
I had also purchased the wireless accessory set for the Intuos small (2014ish), which only got about 2 days worth of use before I quickly learned it was extremely unreliable. Whenever I would try to connect wirelessly it would forfeit any pen pressure and render the entire product as an over glorified mouse pad. The only way I could get the pen pressure to turn back on was by re-installing the driver and resetting my computer...which leads me into my greatest qualm with Wacom:
Both tablets, the Intuos and the Bamboo, would regularly just stop working. Particularly when I would shut down the computer. The only solution to get them to work again was to re-download and re-install the drivers for the tablets.
After several years of dealing with this problem I finally contacted Wacom customer service, which was also a difficult number to find.
(I digress, but their website seems to work only half the time too. Recently, whenever I send links to products or help forums from their site to coworkers, the links half the time show up as "webpage unavailable" etc. But then you google it and refresh the google search just once and suddenly it works again.)
When I finally found a customer service number to call, I had a brief conversation with a customer rep and explained my problem to them. The abbreviated answer was literally just "Oh, that's because sometimes Wacom software is not compatible with Windows OS." I asked them if there was anything they were doing about that and got a rather lackluster response that basically summed up to "no."
Considering that Windows OS is one of the two most common operating systems, it is ridiculous for a company of this scale to not build compatible software. A significant portion of their customer base probably uses PCs or other systems. Not everyone uses mac products.
Since then I have had the opportunity to use some of their cintiq products. My current experience with the Cintiq 24 is mostly positive, however there are significant things that continue to lower my perception of Wacom products.
1. my pen tip (not the nib, but the actual pen) is crumbling. I have not used this pen any differently than any other wacom pen up to this point.
2. If I bump or shake my work surface/table too much the entire display fritzes out before dying. It is a quick fix by just pressing the power button again, but still--is it a loose wire? My setup is too difficult to just casually lift up the massive tablet and check the wires.
3. The fan is very loud and persistent.
4. I genuinely don't know if this is a program issue or an actual Wacom issue...Photoshop is the primary program I use on my cintiq. For the past several months the pen has been lagging significantly and jumping around, making it difficult and stressful to draw a simple line. I will start the line and the tablet will not register it until I am already a few centimeters into it. Or, I will start a line and it will just skip out in the middle of the stroke leaving a large gap between my line's beginning and end. It drives me crazy. I have searched for several different fixes from an adobe product standpoint, as well as updating the tablet driver itself, but the problem persists.
In conclusion...I have been using Wacom for the last 10+ years mainly because they have been the only reliable players in the industry. But other companies like Huion and XPpen are reportedly producing comparable product at a much more affordable price. (I feel like at this point, you're paying more for Wacom's brand name than anything else with their largely inflated prices).
When the time comes for me to invest in a new work station, I will likely be diverting my attention to those other companies. Wacom stresses me out too often and I don't trust that they care.
I really like Wacom tablets but...
I really like Wacom tablets, but the set up of my latest one has just taken 3 hours, 6x restarts, 3 phone calls to Wacom and a lot of patience. I had to delete system files, go into system preferences 20 times, you name it. It shouldn't be this hard.. If this one star review will draw their attention to the problem to try to fix it, then my time wasn't wasted because I don't want other people to have to go through the same torture I've just endured
Absolutely dreadful
Absolutely dreadful
Not plug and play
16 steps then you have to register software and pay separately
Bluetooth didn't work
Dont buy unless you are University age or older with graphic art experience and control all features
Crashed myt computere
I installed the Intros on my iMac and it killed it. I had to reinstall OS and all files. yesterday 4 calls to Wacom and they were suppose to call me back -- no one did. Chat and email disabled on website, phone busy... only opened M-F, 9-4. I sent mine back
Wacom decides how long you can use your hardware
I own two Wacom tables, one of them a Wacom Intous Pro 4 medium that works just fine.
However…
After installing Big Sur, and updating my drivers - it does not.
I wrote Wacom about the problem, and they simply tells me that they have decided to no longer support this unit on Mac OS (but still on Windows apparently).
As a "compensation" for forcing my to buy a new tablet, they offered me a "discount". But it was so little, that the tablet is cheaper anywhere else, so calling it a compensation is a bit of a laugh 🙄
I cannot believe that a company - in 2021 - can think and act like this. This unit worked flawlessly until the latest driver was installed. Therefore, this is a decision from Wacom - not a hardware issue. How environmental friendly is that?
Wacom - I really think you should re-think your business strategy.
This company will go so far as to scam a jobless artist. Avoid.
Fell on the same trap as the other user Paul. Only worse. I had to return my tablet and it got stopped in customs for 3 weeks. I contacted customer support and they assured me I had nothing to worry about.
One morning I open the door to my flat and find a familiar parcel. The returned tablet. UPS must've dropped the parcel outside my front door without even contacting me or ringing the bell. Anyone could've picked up/stolen the tablet.
I contacted customer support again via chat and the person mocked me and used sarcasm, saying things like "blame the game not the player" He then said they're not allowed to send emails with the transcription of the chat, challenging me to copy and paste every single message just to have a record of the conversation -which I did-
I called them the next day and they said they'll escalate the issue with a manager. It's been 2 and a half weeks and got no response whatsoever.
I had to return the tablet because I lost my job. I needed the money and this heartless, hypocrite multimillion company has now completely ghosted me, while they're busy posting on Instagram and Twitter about how much they support the artist community. Unbelievable.
Great support
I got great support when I needed help with my tablet!
Top of the Illustration Industry
Top of the Illustration Industry! Wacom have changed the way we run our studio. As a British customer they have excelled and well worth the £4K we spent on the Cintiq Pro 32". Easy to connect with the computers and easy to use.
Wacom One is not worth your money
Just bought a Wacom One, and the installation a process was bad- had to look up different tutorials to find out the ‘real’ way to install it.
Once installed, this terrible product didn’t operate up to functional standard- it only showed my desktop background, and nothing else (despite me having Adobe photoshop open); no clear way to switch between mouse and pen tool; shortcuts were not short at all.
Also their customer service support is awful!! It practically doesn’t even exist!! This company is all hype.
All in all a major headache of a product and a nonexistent customer service. Save money, just get procreate (£9.00)for any illustration needs. Send files to photoshop to touch up! Stay away from Wacom.
