We recently had a day out at Warwick Castle and booked tickets via their website. Although quite expensive, we really enjoyed the experience of seeing the castle for the first time. It was quite busy... See more

Nice but limited

The checking in system isn't very clear, thankfully someone was on the desk when we arrived.
When booking it wasn't clear if needed to book the Castle separately, thankfully I booked as we would not have been allowed access.
The buffet food on the evening was nice but limited to choice, especially for the price, it hasn't particularly busy when we arrived at 5pm but the service of drinks remained slow. The buffet breakfast was much better and the food options brilliant.

The room was themed and a good size for even a bigger family. My only concern is the bunk beds provided are for small children. My child who is 11 is 5ft 6 and he couldn't fit in the bed. There was a floor pullout bed which we had to roll a blanket up to allow him the sleep with straight legs comfortably. He didn't get a great sleep due to this and after a busy day it wasn't brilliant.
The entertainment inside the hotel grounds is ok, but again very much directed at all young children. Other then a long queue for 3 shots at Archery there wasn't much else age appropriate.

It is an ok option if travelling far for a visit to the castle but would suggest finding else where to eat on the evening and be mindful of any child more then 4ft!

We went to see the winter birds of prey…

We went to see the winter birds of prey display and were really disappointed. The birds themselves are incredible but the poor condor. She was described as being unfit and was thrown up onto the place she flew out of by one falconer and then because she didn't want to fly and was walking around the edge of the high platform she was forced off by another falconer and then barely made it over the water, landing suddenly near the crowd where she was described as being frightened and was picked up and carried off.
Why fly an 'unfit' bird in the first place? Why force it off the platform?
Having been around birds of prey for years we were not happy and won't return.
It's also a cheeky that after paying the entry fee parking is charged on top of this!

Expensive mistake..Don't accidentally drive into the car park

As we drove into Warwick I though I'd show my family a view of the castle. We had no intention to go in.
Once you follow the sign there is no alternative but to enter the car park, you cannot turn around. And there is no view...
It will cost you £7 to drive in and straight out again.
Customer Service tried to refund, but it never happened.
Typical of rip-off Britain.

A great visit and value for money

An excellent visit made all the better by the exterior tour presentation given by Andrew (he tells the Warwick story very well with humour) and Chloie, who gives a similarly well-presented story (also with humour) of the history and life inside the Castle.
Definitely worth a visit

Halloween

Paid 114 for 3 adult tickets for 1st November Haloween. Very disappointed. A couple of people on stilts and nothing else. Dungeon nothing more than daytime booking. 3 portions of nuggets and chips and 2 cans of fizzy pop just under 42.00!!!! Total cost over 150 for a couple of hours of non entertainment 🤗 would not go again after giving doubt last year

Ok...

Ok...
Our first visit to warwick castle and i had high hopes.
There just didnt feel like was much to do at all?
the kingmaker was closed almongst other castle attractions and we could only view the ground floor of the castle which was very limiting.
We watched the bird show which was absolutely incredible!

We went down to the mill which was very pretty and also did the maze...
Other than that was nothing to do and quite boring!!

Screaming school kids pushing each other down the tower staircase and teachers not able to control them was frustrating when someone could of got hurt.

Wont be returning save your money.

Warwick Castle

My husband and daughter visited Warwick Castle this week. They had a an excellent day. They arrived at 10am and left at 5 pm, there wasn't enough time to see everything. Staff were amazing, well worth a visit during the summer holidays.

Expensive but good value if you experience everything

Lots of complaints here about price, quality and information, and my son was skeptical that we might get ripped off but he ended up pleasantly surprised. We were a family of 6 who didn't take advantage of advanced booking but at the end of the day, thought it was good value. Times of shows were on the leaflet and followed on from each other - jousting, falconry, trebouchet and were all professional and entertainingly staged. The tableaux and history in the castle were great and the dungeons scary but staged by very professional actors who could handle audience participation. Very busy, but somehow there was room for everyone and there was not much queueing. Cafe not too busy and prices reasonable. Perhaps a little over the top to charge for the carpark on top but otherwise a great last day to our holiday.
, and who'd have thought they would actually fire the trebuchet ?

Warwick hotel entertainment

This is a review for the entertainment at Warwick castle hotel , fantastic evening spent with some great knights and a princess , my son loved the experience , the energy these performer’s give is incredible they gave their all, we came last year and returned because of this commitment from these people .
A big shout out to atali (might have name wrong as son asked him ) he was doing the archery ,he happily recreated a photo he did with us last year , he was attentive and interested , so good with our children .
The food at the main restaurant was good, expensive but fresh and very tasty . Can’t recommend this experience at the hotel anymore , the bedtime story was fantastic to ,so much energy and not like a CBeebies 5 min story ,this was a 20 minute full story. Fantastic energy from this team .

I paid £62 for two tickets online

I paid £62 for two tickets online. Then saw an ad on my Instagram 2 minutes later for tickets for just £15 each. I feel completely robbed and it's ruined the experience before even visiting. Do not pay more than £15 per ticket.

Rip off pricing

30 minutes to get in from the car and through security (the bus takes as long as the walk).
Vastly inflated prices for food and drink (£4.25 for a takeaway cup of tea, £4.75 for a fizzy drink, £7.50 for a slab of disgusting pizza).
Not enough seating to sit and eat your vastly expensive food, or to just have a rest.
£7 to park, and that isn't anywhere obvious when booking and the Sat Nav Post code for the car park is well and truly buried.
The age limit on the Dungeon tour should be at least 13. None of the kids in the group we went in with survived five minutes.
No seating for the trebuchet display (the viewing from the birds of prey is obscured by a tree).
The app is hopeless. Links didn't work, information on the shows was very limited and it kept telling me I was offline even though I wasn't.

On Tuesday 8th Julythe most exciting day out Ever.

On Tuesday 8th July, my husband and I visited Warwick Castle, we had the most enjoyable time, there.
On our arrival it was suggested we take the minibus that drove us to the entrance of the Xastle. The team that welcomed us, were perfect, walking up the path, we were surrounded by music, laughter.

Directions could be seen pointing us in every direction from Resataurant & Toilets, the. We were led to a Demonstration of Joustin to a display of Falconry

The Jousting was a history of the wars of the Roses and how the Tudor Family came t be. Fantastic, but it was the the Falconry Legend, that was so amazing, we would go back just to see this sight again.

It was the story of Hoppy who wanted to be Head Falconer, but, he had to bring the big Raptors back to the castle.

So began the most amazing adventure, we travelled around the world, from the Andes, here we saw the Andean Condor. Then to North America and the Bald Headed Eagle flew overhead, then the Eagle Owl filled our eye vision. For over an hour the skies abo
Be us were filled with the sounds of wings, on the ground the surprised excited scream of children, enjoying the birds above and around us.

An experience not to miss, an Adventure you could not surpass.

In all our visit to Warwick Castle, was the most delightful - ever

No child and OAP ticket discount

I haven’t been yet. But when attempting to buy tickets have seen that adults are categorised as 3-99 years old, with no discount for kids or seniors. Since when was a 3 year old an adult??!
Sorry, but these places are a part of our own heritage and we ALL own it. By all means charge entry for the upkeep, but there should be a reasonable discount for young children and OAP’s. Parents should be able to take their kids for an educational day out without needing a loan.

Me and the wife went in March for a weekend so we thought we come back later in the year with the family so we booked for the family cost us £800
when we got there was no biscuits in the room there was no fried eggs at breakfast because the reason was they hadn't got capacity no stock
No biscuits in the room they said because was out of stock because we was staying in the hotel that we would get the entry to the castle for £7.50 but was misled because you only got it for £7.50 if you book for two days to go into Castle so it cost us £20 per person to enter the Castle I think its overpriced all the meals on site are expensive and drinks

Good attraction, terrible food, expensive parking.

We paid £26 per adult which seemed fair as there was a lot going on, but if you pay on the gate it's £39, and it's not worth that! We also felt having paid £52 between us that it's a bit cheeky of them to charge £7 for parking on top!
The jousting was excellent, castle interesting to look round, nice grounds etc. Lots to do for children.
The one thing we felt really let it down was the food options - it was very busy, yet more than half the takeaway outlets were shut. There were no tables left on the terrace, and no sandwiches left inside. It was an exteremly hot day, so we didn't really want fish & chips, so we eventually went to the Undercroft where they were only serving breakfast rolls and roast dinner wraps. We paid £21 for two mangy pre-packed baguettes, 2 packets of crisps & a bottle of water.
