A fantastic experience!
A fantastic experience!
I have used Watkins Solicitors on two different occasions when purchasing/selling property and both times they have been excellent. Most recently working with Cari Evans who I couldn't fault. Efficient communication, thorough in making sure everything was covered and made the whole process seamless. Would highly recommend.

Our advisor Emma, was open and up front of the challenges our case faced. She spent time meeting us online to alleviate any concerns and talked us through the process.

Amazing service from Celine
Amazing service from Celine who took over my divorce case from Catherine who had left the firm. Celine responded really quickly to every single email, explained information from the courts that I didn't understand, and really helped with the whole process when I got stuck.
I am dealing with 2 other solicitors for other family matters, and there is no comparison. Trust me, if you are reading these reviews in order to choose a firm who gets things done, and is helpful and friendly, efficient and speedy, then this firm is ten times better than the other ones in the East Bristol area that I've had to deal with!

Morgan was a star.
Morgan did a great job dealing with the sell of my father's house in Bristol whereas I line in Cornwall. Her great communication made the distance ne problem at all. Almost everything was done online cutting down on travel for me. My queries were always replied to within a few minutes. I would happily recommend to others based on my experience.

Great service, highly recommend!
Morgan was very helpful and communicative, answered our questions quickly and helped us keep on track (e.g reminding us when we had documents to return). We spoke to her directly when needed and she made sure we understood everything. She did everything she could to get the house sale and purchase done quickly and was friendly and professional both by email and on the phone. The Watkins solicitors conveyancing app is user-friendly and helped us input all the information we needed to, so that aspect was made easier. Overall I would highly recommend Morgan and the Watkins solicitors conveyancing team.

Never for family law!
I’ve approached Watkins Solicitors with a family law enquiry, seeking representation. I’ve never dealt with another law firm that would have ignored me so badly. Even when I submitted a Subject Access Request, they refused to acknowledge that they had any duty.
I regret ever getting in touch with Watkins Solicitors, it’s an absolute waste of time!

For the love of god go somewhere else!
For the love of god go somewhere else!! Don’t know about all the staff that work there but the two from the Bristol office that “delt” with our case give incompetence a whole new meaning, especially if your dealing with a SEN case, no clue what so ever, everything left to the last minute then rushed through getting dates and simple facts just plain wrong, what they cost us emotionally never mind financially - I can’t even describe, official complaint in against them with the solicitors ombudsman, but no response from them personally of course - but nothing new there!Got used to numerous unanswered emails and phone calls. This resulted in continuously contacting (or trying to) and either (what felt like) “anonymously emailing” them continuously advising and reminding THEM on what needs doing next or by when OR as we had to - you end up doing it yourself the day before the deadline. No legal advice given at any stage as you would expect from a solicitor when fighting a LA, just plain incompetence or avoidance. Then she goes and hands my case over to an outside independent party literally a few days before my tribunal as she had another case unexpectedly continue which “unfortunately happened to be on the same day as mine” it was too late for me to do anything except go through everything in as much detail as humanly possible with the new representative in that short time, and as it turns out he wasn’t even a qualified solicitor! As a result we ended up (surprise surprise) losing our case and was ultimately forced into selling our house and moving to another LA, all this on what should have been (or so I was told) a straightforward easy win case. Ok the Special educational tribunal for wales judge I had was a biased LA loving nodding dog, accepting any flippant vague answer from the LA but demanding detailed specific answers from anyone on my side it was genuinely beyond ridiculous how far up the LA ass this “judge” was, we stood no chance even with the clear mountain of evidence we had. However at this point it was far too late to do anything except pray she’s pull the appeal outta the bag!! but no of course not, after days of trying to contact her regarding my concerns over the tribunal and what I wanted mentioned in the appeal as so many things in the judge’s decision were either factually wrong or just plain taken outta context, she eventually contacts me half hour before my hearing to “run through” a few details, it was shocking I was so angry I could barely speak to her. She then had trouble logging in and left everyone sitting there for 20 minutes, then stuttered her way through her recently gathered notes repeating herself and apologizing profusely- an absolute shambles.
I honestly feel we would have been better off going it alone at least it would have been far less stressful! Who knew there are solicitors as bad as this out there, I certainly didn’t, so instruct at your own peril - you’ve been warned !!!!
Terrible experience from start to…
Terrible experience from start to finish, wouldn't recommend their services.
Odious and ignorant from the top down.
I have just endured the most dreadful and unnecessarily protracted House Conveyancing after instructing this grossly inefficient, ineffective and unprofessional Office full of clowns. Everything started off extremely well, I received a very acceptable letter of introduction, a competitive quote and I even spoke by telephone with my allotted Solicitor. She left me reassured and confident that I would be well served. Unfortunately and tragically that lady at first contracted Covid and then had a family bereavement. My matters then fell off a cliff and I went from an apparent priority to total irrelevance in the blink of an eye and the whole Firm appeared to collapse. I had to resort to contacting the buyers solicitor directly, calling and paying the Fees to Leaseholders and doing all the chasing. It was a good job that I have experience of these matters as I did all the work on behalf of Watkins, their Office did nothing apart from very annoyingly keep mislaying my documents.
I called, wrote and visited Watkins Offices, spoke with their Office Manager and the Senior Partner to complain. I was met with blank stares, blunt ignorance and offensive comments but never a reply. The ignorance started at the top and the staff merely mirrored their employers crass attitude.
The most odious Firm I have ever had the misfortune to ever instruct, they made incompetence an art form and caused me massive financial losses.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
