DON’T BOTHER USING THIS APP

It’s disgusting that they turned back on the reason why they created Wattpad. It was supposed to be for free and now we have to pay to be able to read offline? PLAIN STUPID! If I were you, I wouldn’t install Wattpad! It would just be a waste of space, because you wouldn’t be able to read any book when you don’t have any data or wifi! Their updates are completely DISAPPOINTING!

It was amazing before

It was amazing before, Now I don’t know if I want to use this app again, how can you go to a free app to, “whatever you want to do you have to pay” it’s just outrageous, I’ve been in wattpad since 2013? And I stopped reading like 2 years ago, and I wanted to go read again and I can’t even read
Without millions of ads, it’s just horrible, you have damaged something for millions of people. A place to be ourselves, and to scape from reality, and you brought reality to this space.

This is personal for me

This is personal for me. I won't go into too much detail my ex has written a couple of stories on the app. They are very explicit and are very detailed about out sex life. It's traumatizing, humiliating and disgusting. Wattpad won't do anything about it because she doesn't use my name.

Updates aren't that good for users

It's been four years since I created an account on Wattpad. And like a lot of people here, Wattpad has been my secret place. I used to read all the time but now with the update, some stories need you to pay to read them. And you can't read whatever story you got in your library because it's not on your offline list.
The best advantage Wattpad had was that you had access to all of the stories eventhough you weren't connected to the wifi.
So, it makes me really sad but if there are no changes I'm going to erase the app on my phone and look out for another app to read books.

Hurt.

I love wattpad. Since I started junior high, it has become my escape world. It plays an important role in my being because the writers are very creative to the point that they influenced the way I think and how to view the world from different spectrum. However, the latest update destroys everything. Yes it does benefit the company but in doing so, they will loose a lot of active users.
I love wattpad, I will always love it but not today.

I used to love Wattpad

I used to love Wattpad. The whole reason I would go on is because of the ability to have free books anywhere no need for the internet after the book is downloaded. Now with the new update which disallows the reading of book offline unless you are a member is completely stupid. I am okay with adds but the fact that you now have to pay to read the book offline is angering. I will no longer be using the site unless they change this update. I will go onto other sites that allow for free downloading of the books.

Wattpad used to be my ‘save heaven’ but now it just involves around money...

Wattpad is a place where I can completely be myself by diving into books and having to meet a new character every one to two months. My library is full of books, a place where I could just choose anytime I want which one to read next even if I don’t have wifi. But now this is just becoming like all the other apps, money is too much involved. At first we had to pay for stories (which didn’t bother me that much because it were just a few stories) and now we have to pay to read books offline. Not cool, wattpad is changing to much. It’s not what it used to be smh. I’m talking about the application, love the writers on there though❤️ please I am asking you, remove the ‘not being able to read offline’ thing.
I love wattpad, I will always love it and it actually hurts me so much to see it changing like this. Like what is ‘wattpad premium’ (I know what it is, I am just being ironic), this is not youtube or spotify. Please change it back to the way it was, to how it was supposed to be.

Best place to write stories

I really enjoy writing the Dream Girl series on WattPad. Whenever I once had a problem with stories disappearing, they actually fixed the problem completely. I'm honestly very happy for what they did to make my experience such an awesome one. I also wonder if there's a way I can gain more fans by not just adding new stories to my account.

I Joined Wattpad (Premium Member)…

I Joined Wattpad (Premium Member) uploaded and edited stories. Was ranked in several categories on the site.
All my stories then disappeared. Reached out to Wattpad in a device ticket and received no response other then the standard reply once you submit a ticket.
Wattpad had one job to not lose the content writers upload. I have looked on the web and this is a fairly common occurrence on this app.

I personally view it as a pyramid…

I personally view it as a pyramid scheme. A select chosen are given access, assistance, editing, hype, pay, that are chosen through nepotism or through an algorithm that uses faulty numbers. While thousands of other are hidden by a purposely damaged search/ranking system. Those who are at the bottom of this pyramid are enticed to keep popping out free content for this site that does bot protect or respect them. There is no plagiarism program to check if things uploaded are stolen, something a company of this size could afford to do. Colleges have it and so does Grammarly. Some of their peeps had their stories stolen and did nothing to notify the other story owners of the group of 36 stolen stories. An employee's mom won a Watty in 2017 and no one was notified as any fair competition would make sure to do to avoid looking corrupt. Pedophilic and other questionable against their rules content abounds on the app, easily found in seconds. Stuff I've reported only to be asked why it was reported, in which I had to point out the clear violations on the cover image, blurb, and tags..... Avoid wasting your time, finish your manuscripts and apply for radish, for an agent, or self-publish. Get a ko-fi or Patreon. I could go on and on about their bullying issues and plagiarism, etc.

I used to love wattpad

I used to love wattpad. It was the best app that just let you read without worrying if you had to pay. I hate the new pay as you read stories, if you're young and don't have a job like me and a lot of it's other users ,it limits you to only the books that are free! When there are so many apps like radish, that could pay you if you were wanting money as an author, it annoys me that wattpad has become one of them. I was in the middle of a few great books when the system came in and i can't afford to finish reading them. I am so disappointed in wattpad for once an ask you to please reconsider.

Beware!!! The Worse excesses of social media.

This website at first feels welcoming - but through their ambassador's programme they're using users to save on labour costs.

Accounts of anyone who criticises them are closed for no reason but yet the site is awash with child porn, illegal images and stolen stories - that their free labour ambassadors are meant to find and deal with those.

They've various programmes allegedly to spot new talent - but apart from a favoured few, nobody benefits. If a regular users story is becoming too popular, it will be hidden among a pile of spam or porn.

I've contacted the Canadian ambassador from my country about many worrying things that I've discovered their during my three years as an ambassador but would also be willing to liaise any interested media.

They're taking advantage of young kids dreams for their own financial gain. And other's they're getting to work for nothing.

When I got thrown out of their ambassador's programme for trying to offer some constructive criticism around the issue of catfishing on the site, they didn't thank me for my three years of unpaid work.

Instead, they sent a very scary spam virus to my computer. I'd to threaten them with the police to get them to remove it.

Wattpad is the antisocial side of social media.

I used to love wattpad

I used to love wattpad, it was a nice free way to view aspiring writers work. Sure most of the books were pretty bad, but it was to be expected of a free for all, anyone can use app. Nowadays, the new wattpad updates upset me. They set up a pay for stories system, where good stories have to be paid for. I don’t understand the point, by making the good books unreadable for most people on the site your isolating those who actually use it. You may aswell be Radish or any other pay to read site. In addition, many people will stop reading on the site because the only content they can view are badly made, cliche stories. Obviously there are hidden gems, but those that are undiscovered and not pay to read are few and far between.

Wattpad please reconsider your updates.

Best Stories! Bad Ad Experience...

Wattpad is a best place to find and read stories online! I don't think that there is any other good alternatives for this.

But the only thing that is going bad on Wattpad is that they are now to obsess with money cause they are forcing to make users watch Video Ads today, The past experience was great there was no Video Ads that disturbed users on reading a book. And now it's very bad.

Awesome site for authors who wants to …start writing own stories

Awesome site for authors who wants to build their audience and try their handwriting and see how people react.

I like that site makes a lot of contests, and their service really became better.

I will be glad if they create contests that the authors or editors of the bestseller authors will judge their skills and give any of talented authors the chance to be noticed by publishing companies.

Good luck to the site, and wish them to make the Adult Stories are more visible for Adult Audience.
