It is great to hear that your truffles have a white fluff on them- this is a great sign that they are fresh and safe to consume.
Although this white fluff looks like a mould, it is actually the root system of the truffle (mycelium). It is growing on your truffles as they are fresh- essentially they are trying to regrow themselves.
This is a great way to tell if truffles are fresh. Moreover, because we do not vacuum seal our truffles to keep them as potent and safe to consume as possible you will always notice after some time that our truffles go white and fluffy.
It is perfectly safe to consume the white fluff but if you would rather not, simply roll them in some kitchen paper, shake the jar and it will fall off, or lastly wash it under some water.

Thank you for updating your review David. Great to hear the products arrived on their expected delivery date. Keep in mind that we do not sell psilocybin mushrooms, although they share the same active ingredient they are different to the truffles that you ordered. We understand that this white fluff you may have noticed on the truffle is not appealing but it is actually an excellent sign the truffle is alive and healthy.
This happens because the truffle is a fresh (actually considered live) product and therefore will try essentially to regrow itself, to do this the truffles' root system will start to grow (this is called mycelium) which appears as a white fluff- additionally this happens because we do not vacuum seal the truffles. We make a conscious decision to not vacuum seal them as this ensures they maintain their potency (vacuum sealing degrades the active ingredients) and cause the least gastrointestinal problems possible. It is perfectly safe to consume the white fluff but if you would rather not (understandable!) simply roll them in some kitchen paper, or shake the jar and it will fall off, or lastly wash it under some water.

As your delivery took just a week to arrive this is no cause of concern that the mycelium has started to develop. Again, a great indication they are healthy and alive.
