I have recently completed the purchase of my property with Whitegates Sefton.

My overall experience of this estate agents has been that of excellent practice from start to finish.

Given the current climate in terms of mortgage interest rate uncertainty, I found myself valuing the knowledge and experience this branch has to offer.

James Lacken is the branch manager. What he doesn't know about buying and selling houses isn't worth knowing - his impressive understanding of the conveyancing process was worth its weight in gold, and I can't thank him enough.

I had many questions and needed clarity around several issues. He answered emails promptly, and even if he wasn't in the office (out at a viewing), he was quick to return my calls as soon as he could.

I am so impressed by his responsiveness and readiness with information, but most of all by his attention to detail. The process was not only smooth, but indeed quick - James really gets things done and done properly.

His colleague Tom is an asset to the team - not only is he reliable and diligent, he is also incredibly warm and friendly. I was very grateful for his involvement in the process.

People often say buying a house is the most stressful thing you can do, and yes, it is a huge undertaking. However, James and his team made the whole experience as easy as they could for me. Thank you.

James Lacken, the manager at Whitegates Estate Agents Bootle, impressed me with his proactive approach to managing the sale of my property. Having dealt with people throughout my career, I quickly recognized his genuine nature.

In contrast to my previous experiences with other quick fix agents, James stood out with his refreshing attitude and enthusiasm for ensuring a quick sale. His bright persona left a positive impression, and as the sale progressed, he and his team's genuine effort exceeded my expectations.

What stood out the most was his willingness to be of assistance whenever needed—a quality I found lacking in my previous interactions with estate agents.

We sold and bought through Whitegates. James did our initial appraisal then our case was managed by Tom with some input from James throughout the transaction. The house had multiple viewings booked within hours of it going up and was sold for full asking price which was more than we expected it to be worth within around 3 or 4 days.

Unfortunately on our previous house sale in 2019 we apponted our own conveyancers who were useless. This time we went with whitegates recommended conveyancer. They must be good if recommended by the estate agents right? Theyll also get a bit of commission for the referral so seemed a good idea all around. Unfortunately they were useless too. So maybe that's just the general standard of conveyancers!!

Added to this our buyers were not the best, we kept all interaction though Tom and James and when things started getting stressy (as house sales and purchases do) James was always on hand to reassure and calm me.

I would have no hesitation in using them again or recommending

James at the Bootle branch was the reason I decided to sell my house with Whitegates. He was professional, friendly and supportive and went above and beyond; including arranging viewings around my work and personal commitments and answering any queries I had, even outside of working hours! Whether buying or selling, James is the Man!

We had no intentions of moving homes, until a conversation with our builder convinced us to move instead of extending.

We found our dream home up for sale with Whitegates. We knew to stand any chance of buying our dream home, we would have to move quickly to sell our house, to enable us to make an offer on the new property.

I contacted James and explained we had found a house which he was selling, but needed to sell ours to be able to make an offer. James came out the next day and our house was on the market before the end of the day. It was sold with 12 days of putting it on the market...... I couldn't believe it.

We then made an offer on our dream home, which was thankfully accepted.

James dealt with everything, the selling of our home and the buying of the new one. Every question or query I had, James was there every step of the way, whether it was a phone call or if I popped in to the office. Even when solicitors where dragging their heels, James picked up the phone to them in my presence to chase things up.

James was very polite, well mannered, paid great attention to detail, and it was a pleasure to deal with him. He made one of the most stressful times of moving homes a lot easier.

Thanks James, but unfortunately for you, I won't be moving again!

Just sold 4 houses with James from Whitegates Bootle and found him to be very friendly, professional and knowledgeable and very pro-active. He basically had buyers within a week to 10 days of going on the market higher than the asking price. Excellent, Quick & Efficient service. Helped my Mother-in-law of 80 years of age sell her home within 2 weeks. James was so helpful and patient with her. We needed a quick sale as she had bought a house in Ireland and was relocating. They couldnt be any more helpful in the selling process. Would highly recommend.

I recently sold my house with Whitegates and they were professional and helpful throughout the whole process. I mostly dealt with James and Tom who were both lovely and very supportive. I never had an issue getting through when I needed to speak to them, and they always called back when I left messages. There was always someone to answer the phone, often in fact it was James himself, which I think is rare for a manager to be so hands on but I think it just shows how invested he is. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend them.

My mum has recently sold her house through Whitegates Estate Agents in Bootle. We dealt with James who we cannot praise enough for his knowledge and experience, he was warm and polite and kept us in the loop every step of the way. James also answered any questions that we had so we understood the process and were left reassured. I cannot recommend this company highly enough and should I decide to sell my property I will definitely be calling upon James at Whitegates.

I used Whitegates to sell my parents home, which was traumatic and complicated. Our conveyancers (separate company) were not the best and we had countless issues. The team at Whitegates were always available, helpful and did their best to make this sale happen as quickly as possible. James, the manager, often went out of his way to help, you couldn't ask for a nicer person. Thank You James and the team.

James at bootle whitegates came out to my property in July 2023 advised me on a few things and more importantly the asking price for my home, everything went smoothly and an offer went in the first week the house was up.
