As a first time landlord I’ve requested the property to be returned to me after only a couple of months.
Endless amounts of fees they aren’t open about
I arrange repairs to be done, they allow tenants to pressure contractors to do more work when there which wasn’t agreed pushing the bill up by hundreds
Told me to advertise it for one price but once I’d signed the contract told me I had to drop the price
Told me I had nothing to do on the property then with two days before tenant moved in they gave me a big list and said they would send their contractors on in I didn’t have it done
Asked for property back before a tenant was found and they said i’d still have excessive fees to pay
My advice would be avoids at all costs, I’m practically managing it yet paying them ridiculous fees

I’m leaving this review after seeing Apartment 4, Princes Parade, Alexandra Tower has been relisted, as I don’t want others to go through what I did.

I progressed a purchase to the final stages, only for it to collapse due to the landlord/freeholder being completely uncontactable. This creates serious risk. Buying a property in this situation could leave you exposed to major financial liabilities relating to the building, including repairs or compliance issues, which could be extremely costly. None of this was made clear upfront, and I am now thousands of pounds out of pocket.

Whitegates handled this extremely poorly. Communication was slow, inconsistent, and at times completely absent. I was repeatedly left chasing for updates, often with little to no clarity provided. Key information was not shared proactively, and issues only came to light late in the process when significant time and money had already been spent. At no point did I feel there was proper ownership of the situation or any urgency to resolve it.

Overall, a very stressful and costly experience. I would strongly advise anyone considering this property, or working with Whitegates, to proceed with extreme caution and carry out thorough due diligence before committing.

They very rarely answer the phone, and while you're waiting you get to listen to a voice recording about how they hope we'll join them in celebrating their impeccable customer service. When you do get through, there is nobody available to help with your enquires as they're either out of the office or busy.
I have received over a dozen emails (after they mis-sent I don't know how many to an incorrect email address, despite the fact I spelt it to them phonetically. I was unable to follow the instructions in the email, due to them not logging my initial holding deposit. Upon calling up to ask for help, I was told they can't help on the weekend, to which they sent me another, identical email, which was obviously of no use to me.
Out of all the estate agents I've had the pleasure of utilising, I have never came across one as incompetent and unapologetically lazy.

I am selling my late father's, part ownership home, who passed away in July 2022. After 2 very tough years of unseen complications and poor advice the part owners of the property are going to buy my father's share. Due to the sale not going through Whitegates I was sent a bill for £250 which is itemised in the small print of the contract I signed. This was not pointed out by the staff at the time of signing. I appreciate that this needs to now be paid as part of the terms and conditions of Whitegates service. However, I find it appalling that this bill can not wait until the completion of the sale on my father's home and to be threatened with a debt collection agency is shocking. Why is there such an urgency to pay now?
The staff I have been in contact with over the last two years at Whitegates have been lovely but I am extremely disappointed that I have had to go into debt to pay these fees.

Selling our home through Whitegates Huyton branch. Josh came out to value the house and was very professional from beginning to end. He arranged for a fabulous set of pictures to be taken and worded the advert perfectly.

We then dealt with Amanda, and she has been amazing throughout after a few hiccups along the way. Amanda kept us up to date and explained how things were progressing on a regular basis. She even replied to an email that I sent on an evening expecting a reply the next morning. Amanda replied within 10 minutes. Amanda always goes the extra mile.

Had a good offer within about 10 days. Worked with Amanda who was brilliant, she was knowledgeable and friendly. The photos taken of the property were first class. Used Solicitors who worked with Whitegates and this provided a streamlined service. Amanda was always available and provided excellent service.
