Very disappointing experience with Wickes
Two years ago, we had our kitchen, downstairs bathroom and toilet refurbished by Wickes. From the beginning, the project was plagued by delays and poor communication between the designer and the installer appointed by Wickes.
Although the work was eventually completed, we found several issues within just three months. We contacted Wickes and asked for the installer to return and rectify them, but this never happened.
Two years later, we have discovered a rat infestation in our kitchen. Following a professional pest-control inspection, we found serious concerns underneath the kitchen units, including an unsealed redundant sewage connection and gaps around the floor and walls that may have provided access for pests.
We have also experienced repeated tripping of the kitchen socket circuit and are having the electrical installation investigated. In addition, the LVT flooring installed by Wickes is already cracking and coming apart after only two years.
We are extremely disappointed with the quality of the installation and, particularly, the lack of aftercare when problems were reported. We expected much better from a company like Wickes.

Paul Hill at Wicks Andover did my kitchen design and helped me pick my units and all accessories.

He came out to measure and gave advice.
I did not feel rushed at anytime
He supplied emails and hard copies of plans.
I could pop into branch and ask all my questions some of which I thought may be silly but he did have answers.
The head office staff good too as had to change delivery the day before and this was done.

Great customer service for starters, was able to get everything I needed from under one roof.

Andover branch were brilliant last week, have been a regular customer for 40 years and have always been satisfied

I’ve been using the Andover Wickes for many years. I find all the staff extremely helpful and friendly. Danni the manager is always super efficient and helps with any problems I have, and is very professional. The kitchen design team (Paul Hill) are also there if any problems arise and is dealt with efficiently in a more than satisfying manner. I’ve even baked them a cake to show them my appreciation for all the help they have given me over the years. Look forward to carrying on using Wickes Andover for most of my material from screws to kitchens. Thank you to all the team there. 🙂

Edit: 1 month later and still no refund :(

Delivered twisted and warped construction timber, (2 days late) and still trying to get it collected and refunded more than 2 weeks later, after nearly an hour on the phone and several emails.
Lots of false promises that they'll look into it and get back to me, but they never do.

Thank you so much to Luke- design consultant. He put us at ease and made choosing and designing our kitchen easy. He is very knowledgeable in what he does and takes time and offers his advice to make sure it is all perfect. Nice and friendly! Very happy with the service we have recieved from him. Re Kitchen Installation.

Kitchen was finished over 5 weeks ago, over these 5 weeks I have been asking for help from both the Andover store and Wickes customer service to resolve some outstanding issues, no one is helping.

My problems and complaints are just being passed from person to person. Wickes Andover are telling me to speak to customer service, washing their hands with me now they have my money.

Customer service is so far totally useless and not helping me at all.

The experience started off great, but now I have problems, and they have my money, they don’t want to know.

They are using every delay tactic, I guess in the hopes I give up and move on??

For example I purchased a range cooker through Wickes which is faulty. I have sent pictures and videos to multiple emails, I have spoken to multiple people on the phone and in the store itself. No one is taking responsibility and helping me replace/repair this. This is the most straightforward of all my complaints, and yet Wickes are not dealing with this at all. Ignoring me.

Be warned and be aware that once they have your money, it is incredibly difficult to get further help should you have any problems.

I booked a last minute design appointment and was thoroughly impressed with the experience. Luke was competent and knowledgeable but managed to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand, even for a layman. Interactions with other staff was pleasant, price was very competitive but was never pressured into a sale.

Paul was unbelievably patient and helpful. From his house visit to the showroom he was full of practical and aesthetic advice and despite our significant procrastination was never pushy even when our decision spanned several weeks. I really can’t fault the service.

While the whole process hasn’t been completely plain sailing, with the wrong shower door being sent and as a result not being able to have the bathroom finished in the allotted time, the customer service to sort all this out was well handled. Separately, Simon and the Red Dragon Home Improvements team who installed whole bathroom from start to finish have been really great. Communication was excellent, and the fitting of the bathroom superb quality. We had walls tiled and replastered to a very high standard and were always told when the installers were turning up. They were extremely clean and organised and we have not been left with any issues (as far as we can tell to date). Highly recommend Red Dragon Home Improvements as the Wickes contracted installer. 5 stars for installation, but knocked to 4 because Wickes failed to order the correct shower door and did take a few weeks to sort it out.

Paul sorted out a cracking design for our kitchen and offered a tonne of options and advice - was a pleasure to deal with and I highly recommend.

Dan from Andover Wickes was such a joy to meet when I was unsure about my order. He was extremely professional & extremely knowledgeable about my order making sure that I was looked after and making me feel special that meant so very much to me. I’m a widow & my late husband used to purchase everything we needed for DIY & I felt overwhelmed with everything but Dan reassured me & the customer service blew me away! I'm delighted with design consultant Paul Hill's design for my new kitchen and can't wait to see it fitted. My questions and concerns were answered patiently and knowledgeably. The kitchen I have purchased is in budget and ticks all the boxes for both practicality and style. Thank you, Wickes. 🙂

I spoke with Luke and he took me through different styles and colours. He set up dates with me for an almost immediate home measure, so I didn't have to wait long for a Design.

I then came in to pay for it and Paul helped me choose the final details in creating a refreshing and charming kitchen design.

The layout at Wickes was easy to find styles and inspiration; I loved all their kitchen layouts and styles.

It was also easy to visualise my kitchen due to their merchandising in store, from computers to physical examples you could mix and match to find the right colours and design. I chose flooring, cupboard doors, handles and a worktop, all at once and still have the option to change everything albiet paying due to Wickes' customer friendly policies.

Had a query regarding a recent order, Sharon Duty Manager resolved it promptly. Sharon is a credit to Wickes, with a smile too!

I initially went into Wickes to purchase an ‘off the shelf’ kitchen. Whilst asking a few questions I caught Pauls attention and he immediately persuaded me to book a home visit for a quick measure up. Unfortunately at time the property was a mere shell yet Paul worked his magic and completed a beautiful design with a top of the range kitchen. A few weeks later he was back to complete the bathroom design too. Beautiful products and an incredibly competitive price. The aftercare from Wickes Andover and Paul has been nothing short of incredible.

I recently purchased a kitchen for my home from wickes Andover.
Initially I met with Luke one of the kitchen designers.
He was super helpful , designing a kitchen to make the best use of the space that I had.
The whole process was very smooth and I felt well taken care of.
I had made a couple of mistakes and changed direction a little and when I informed Luke he was on it straight away and helped to rectify the situation.
The kitchen arrived in a timely fashion .
I am very happy with the service I received and have no problem recommending both Luke and Wickes!

I have now used Wickes Andover, twice now - once for a new designed bathroom, which included a new walk in shower and units, which were fitted by the designated installers who did an outstanding job and overall finish. I have also recently had a new designed kitchen and flooring throughout the entire ground floor, along with a downstairs toilet and units. Both of these jobs were designed by Paul, who did a great job in the actual design, and the oversight of the work. I would also like to commend the services of Dan Hunt and his team, who conducted the work on the kitchen and ground floor. The work was outstanding in quality and fit - I am now in receipt of a new immaculate kitchen and ground floor which looks amazing. Dan is in high demand for this work and I did have to wait to secure his services, but it was well worth the wait. I would therefore highly recommend Dan to undertake any work that you may require in the future. A big thank you to Paul and Dan, for making a potentially stressful event very easy - much appreciated.
