Wickes - Bishops Stortford Reviews 

I was helped by a very friendly team to order some skirting boards in store. The team member went out of their way to assist me even when it was taking longer than expected. The customer service was excellent and absolutely will be using this wickes store as my main store from now on! Really good experience.

Came to bishops stortford wickes today. I dealt with a guy called Tyler who went above and beyond to help me. Great customer service skills. Wish there were more people like this.

My wife Amanda and I had been looking at kitchens and spoke to Gerald at Wickes Bishops Stortford. He came to our house measured up and went away to plan our kitchen. We went back in to see him and ordered the kitchen from him that he had planned for us. Gerald was great and I can say he definitely looked after us. We will be back again next year to plan our bathroom.

My husband was a builder but has now had cancer twice in a year so doesn’t feel as confident in places like Wickes with the workmen as now can’t use his arm and hand.
Tyler got us materials from out the back and from shop floor, loaded the trolley and then to the till where he put it all through then loaded everything into the car for us.
Tyler was a massive help and quite honestly we couldn’t have got what we needed without him. Along side the help he was polite, chatty and genuine young man.

Gerald from the bathroom design service was just brilliant. I wanted to order from Wickes but found the website very confusing. Gerald was brilliant at making sure that I ordered the right items in the right sizes and colours with all the additional accessories that were needed. I could not have done it without him.

Excellent experience in Bishop Stortford with Karen. She went out her way to help me and was an absolute hero. 5 stars. Will use this wicks again. Thank you Karen.

I needed a specific type of wood treatment. Sally was brilliant. She left me to continue to shop whilst she explored options and discussed with her manager. Very friendly and going the extra mile, Sally made my frustrating search easy. Thank you .

The Bishop's Stortford store was apparently full of trainees who clearly had not been trained at all. They had no clue about what products were available. The first one I spoke to needs to be trained first of all to be polite to customers.
I bought a tin of paint which fell over in my car and the lid came off, disgorging paint all over the back of my car. It took me 4 hours to clear up and I'll never be able to remove the paint from the carpet. I went back to the shop to complain that the lid was not properly fitted and the manageress told me that it 'happens all the time.' I replied that in that case there was clearly a fault with the product and they should label the tins with the warning 'insecure lids', but she dismissed my complaint, saying that company policy ruled that the tin was the responsibility of the customer once it left the premises.
This is not acceptable.

I was undecided about which pain to purchase for painting furniture. The assistant was helpful, knowledgeable and interested in my project.

Ordered online received call to say stock was wrong and I would receive a refund that was the 1st of the month then I started to receive messages saying that it was ready to collect good job I rang first as it was a computer error no problem can you issue a refund no! Because they can’t correct the stock problem with the computer but they said that they would get someone to fix it and refund me this was a problem that would keep happening until one day a message came through saying collected? I called again for a fifth time and demanded to speak to a manager after a long time on hold I was left trying to explain the situation and then tell him to fix the computer and refund me eventually he said that the refund was issued however I contacted customer services on the first of the month and had to wait nine days for a response only to hear were sorry but not get any help or answers as a builder of 30 years I have never come across such incompetence a lot of hassle and not worth my time or effort eventually on the sixteenth of the month customer service messages back still with no answers but yes I did receive a sorry
Avoid at all cost I will not return after this

There was a young red haired girl who helped me today when i came in with my husband. She helped us find what we needed and she even laughed at my husband’s bad jokes. She was very lovely, polite and she did not stop smiling she was a very pleasant to be around.

Upon returning for a second visit today to the Bishop's Stortford branch, I urgently needed more ballast working late into the evening. It was 1940pm and the ballast pallet bay empty, and young Harry the assistant was helping another customer get some items from the stock area. I thought the worst as it approached 1950pm and I needed to ask Harry the same request - please can you get me X10 bags of ballast from the back area. He checked and confirmed there was some. But he wasn't trained for the fork lift, and customers aren't allowed back there. I was preparing for the 'sorry, please come back tomorrow ' but no! Harry took my trolly and loaded me up the 10 in 5 minutes. Really admired his attitude and de deserves recognition for helping customers out so close to closing time. I'd have been stranded without his help at near on 8pm as I had left site with concrete going off and would have been a nightmare if it wasn't for Harry....thank you!

Excellent service from Matthew at Bishop's Stortford, Branch. I am a Artist who had quite afew paints needing made up and l found him to go the extra mile!
