Ordered a kitchen, which with fitting cost over 20k. What a shambles. Should have taken 2 weeks to complete, but due to the incompetence of Wickes it took 3 months.
I rang my instalation advisor over 31 times over the 3 months and only managed to speak him a couple of times. I was passed from pillar to post.
The only person who helped was a lovely lady called Caroline.
The design of the kitchen is bad with one corner cupboard being unable to use as you can't even get a plate through the door. Units which were going to be taken into a alcove, so the whole alcove would be used, haven't so we have lost space. Some units were 2ft shorter than the ceiling when all other units fitted right up to the ceiling.
If they measure for flooring be very careful. We were told we needed 6 extra boxes of flooring and underlay. When fitter arrived he said straight away we had far to much. We then had ro do a 60 mile round for to return it for a refund.
All in all we have been offered £170 compensation, which is a absolute insult.
Please do not let Wickes near your home.
The fitters Wickes supplied were great and I can not thank them enough, they too had a bit of a rough time having to come back and forth

I found her very approachable to begin with when I needed help within the store, she was very helpful but most of all full of knowledge when I was unsure on what I was buying. We are so pleased with our new bathroom and en-suite. We were brave and had one done straight after the other. And were a bit anxious but we needn't have worried, Richard our designer and Steve our fitter really looked after us and did an amazing job. Both bathrooms are absolutely stunning, we couldn't be happier.

I supply and install kitchens and bathrooms to customers and can categorically say that this company is by far the worst retailer out there items were sent incorrectly on delivery and noted by the driver however after been on the telephone for over 1 hour to try and get that resolved they reluctantly arranged a courier to deliver the item that they sent incorrectly and to top it off the taps were not delivered and when I went to the Durham store to try and locate the taps they told me that they had no idea if I would get them as they could even be discontinued so I purchased a alternative tap however nearly one week later a delivery driver turned up with them again I contacted the store to be told that I COULD NOT RETURN THEM TO THE STORE even though I paid them the money and in fact I had to arrange through customer services to be collected and only from my clients address that they were nearly 1 week late delivering to I did state that I have completed the job and my clients both work everyday and nobody will be in and they suggested I left the taps outside and I said what if they go missing and I was advised that if they were stolen I would not get my refund so to cut a long story short this company is a absolute disgrace with ZERO percent caring for its customers I suggest anyone who reads this DO NOT BUY FFOM THIS COMPANY lije on every review they email you for more details and when you send it to them NO REPLY AT ALL

Have been dealing with Gary Vent since 2024 With designing kitchen & he is the most friendliest sales person I have met. I have changed my design a lot of times & nothing was a bother, I didn’t feel rushed, honestly he was amazing. I eventually bit the bullet & ordered this evening. After changing few more details lol
Again Gary was super helpful putting all my worries at ease. He’s a huge credit to the wicks store in Durham. Could not have done any this without his support & patience. This man is a saint.

Having looked to purchase a new kitchen we booked a surveyor to come out to the property with the intention of designing the kitchen and providing us with a quotation - as promised by the Wickes website.
The surveyor came out on Tuesday 5th August and spent the time with us complaining about the fact that we had the audacity to request the Fridge to be in the utility room and that we must be mad to want to do that. Having brought this up numerous times he was very fortunate he was not asked to leave the property.
I should also say that he promised to go away, design the kitchen and then send us a quote and a price the following week & we would then have to go to store to agree to sign up with him.
We only initially planned on having Wickes out given the perception of ease and reliability of the brand, but given this we arranged another company to come out and quote straight after he left. This company arranged a surveyor to visit the following evening, he spent 3 hours designing and pricing a kitchen - making sure he listened to our requirements and offered positive changes when appropriate. We signed up with that company the same evening, having had the structural and istallation surveys we are now having the kitchen fitted next week.
Back to your chap that claimed to be in the business for years and then moaned about Wickes only "paying him minimum wage" - before changing that story as well - I have no idea how he sells.
He was that dissapointing I simply cannot remember his name, but then again that would have been on the quote he STILL hasn't produced for us - the question is will the quote arrive before or after the kitchen is installed!!
If you wish to identify him the survey was at 6pm on the 5th August in the DH2 area.
***Update, i have managed to find the surveyor and it was Gary Vent

I was looking for a sink protector, I had visited other diy stores to no avail. Tyler at Durham Wickes was the most helpful and knowledgeable assistant by far. Whilst Wickes did not stock the item Tyler checked online and advised where I could purchase the item .

After approaching kitchen companies in the area l was getting the same designs, they weren't listening.
By chance l visited Wicks Durham..what a differece !
Richard listened, no pressure, gave me a few ideas, visited to see the kitchen area.
Designed my dream kitchen, stress free from the start to finish.
Paul the kitchen fitter completed the job to an excellent standard.
I now have my perfect kitchen.

We had a kitchen installed from wickes in Durham . I can honestly from day 1 this was one of the best experiences we’ve had on any purchase. Richard Williams was top drawer.Professional and innovative in every way,he came up with great fresh ideas which changed numerous times as we went along but we are so happy with the end result . The installation offered by Lee was also superb. I would not hesitate to recommend these guys ( and have already done so ) to anyone looking for a new kitchen .
