We had bathroom and kitchen quote done but put the kitchen on the back burner.
Once our bathroom was about to be fitted we needed to purchase tiles, which we went to do and noticed the designer had forgotten to put shower panelling around the 3 required sides of our shower tray. An expense we were not expecting since we had taken out finance to pay, but thankful we noticed it a week before installation. The designer had grossly underestimate the specialist works by not including plastering and tiling onto the quote and the installer had not mentioned this at the pre installation visit. Again extra costs that we were not expecting.
The finishing of the job was to a poor standard, we complained about the designer grossly underestimating the cost of the work over 25% in total. We were given the he said, she said response so all blame where possible was put on us, designer said we changed the plans (we did not) the designer said he had forgotten plastering and tiling, but then the installer said we would plaster ourselves, we did not do this. Customer service were extremely slow in their responses, and offered us compensation although quite insulting we agreed because the whole situation has been mentally and financially exhausting for us.
Whilst all this was happening our shower sealant has disintegrated within a month of two of the works being completed. Which I raised, the installer was busy working other jobs so it took another month or two before he came and fixed it. My husband complain about the finishing of the works to Wickes whilst this was also happening with photographic evidence. Though we did not receive much response.
The shower sealant failed again not long after it was installed, again many emails back and forth with customer service, requested a different installer as we had no contact from the installer for months again before he came and fixed it and the work was done so badly, as it was rushed. Residue left from the old sealant, thin in some places and not finished properly.
Complained again, with pictures as we always had and for months asking if they can send someone as the lack of shower sealant was now causing damage to the rest of the bathroom. The installer made no contact for about 6months and asked when he could visit to fix it.
We told him not to come, me made a decision to pay another tradesman to come and rectify the installers mistakes as it would end up costing us more money in the future.
We informed customer service of this, and rather than investigating their installers work ethic and quality of work, they blamed us saying the installer contacted us continually with no response. We have dated text messages to prove otherwise.
They have also now refused to pay any compensation, after stating they could not pay it until all situations were resolved. Stating it’s taken too long, when they as customer service team have delayed the whole process whilst they also restructured their customer service team.
They lack empathy for the customer, do not listen to the customer, use delaying tactics so that you do not receive compensation and also delaying tactics so you cannot complain to the ombudsman.
My advice to anyone looking at Wickes, don’t do it. If you do, take any issues to the Ombudsman as soon as you feel your complaint is unresolved.
Wickes, well you are clever you delay repairs and delay rectifying mistakes so long that people pay another professional, which then terminates warranty and also delays further complaints and compensation.
In terms of being a good company of customer satisfaction you could be better, listening to your customers, looking at the hard evidence provided and also changing the installer at the customer request. No one should feel uncomfortable with an installer in their home, which is the point we got to.
The whole experience has been a nightmare from start to finish. As the sealant is just one example of what is wrong with our bathroom, the list is long.
I really understood another unhappy customer who said something on the lines of it being emotional draining, it really is as well as financially. So much so that the stress is overwhelming
EDIT - comment from Wickes below, example of their lack of customer services, which are for show, they have not reached out at all via Trustpilot nor any other means of contact.

I was truly impressed with Dimu’s knowledge, suggestions and enthusiasm, at Wickes High Wycombe. She understood the brief immediately and was patient with my many questions. My order for family bathroom, en-suite and cloakroom requirements is looking great. Hoping delivery is as professional!

An outstanding quality of service provided by the very friendly, professional, and dedicated staff (Eryn and Muhsin) at Wickes High Wycombe branch. Thank you

I was greeted by Carla with a smile and asked how I could be helped. I was shopping for a specific power tool which shd identified immediately and found in the stock room adjacent to the tills. She offered to get me a trolley but in the event I did not need it. Throughout her customer service was exemplary, polite, efficient and swift.

I called last Sunday to enquire about oil-filled radiators and went along on Monday evening to pick some up. The person spoken to that Sunday was quite helpful and polite. On the Monday however the shopping experience was marred by dealing with the most rudest, young male on the till. First, he asked me to seal the radiator boxes as he pointed the roll of tape at me! I told him to do it himself, which he did not like. So, as a result, he took his time, sealing the boxes as weakly as possible, then putting the 4 boxes through the till and then shoved the folded receipt towards me saying "There you go!"
I spent about £150 in the store and he did not think to at least be polite and say 'Thank you for your custom'. No problem. I will go elsewhere next time, where good costumer services matters to the store.

Designer great. But units for kitchen started peeling 3 months after installed. We asked Wickes store in High Wycombe to help us resolve, we did not want to complain at that stage. We went in store and via email but nothing was ever done. The CEO team replied last week after we went down that route and said it’s nothing to do with them. Up to us to maintain it by new units. Utter failure from Wickes and their CEO team.

We recently had the pleasure of working with Azee, our kitchen designer, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the very start, Azee used his vast industry knowledge to help us map out and design a kitchen that is not only practical but perfectly suits our lifestyle. His advice was invaluable in helping us control costs without compromising on quality.
His designs were clear, measurements spot-on, and he maintained regular communication throughout the entire process. Azee ensured everything was moving smoothly and was always on hand to answer any questions we had along the way. We highly recommend Azee for anyone looking to create their dream kitchen!

I approached Wickes High Wycombe on behalf of our school PTA to ask them if they would donate a prize to our school fair. They we very quick to respond to my request and donated product to the value of a hundred pounds to the cause. We were very grateful for their interest in supporting the community.

Really impressed with Wickes High Wycombe, particularly Xocoa McGee, for generously donating materials from the store for use in the Holmer Green Jubilee Sensory Garden. So nice to see Wickes supporting the local community in this way. Many thanks!

As a local school with a big project in mind, we reached out to Community Project rep, Xocoa McGee to see if Wickes could help. They generously provided us with a wide range of resources and also put us in touch with Crown Paint who helped us further. Xocoa made everything simple and easy and went the extra mile to give us the advice and resources we needed. THANK YOU XOCOA

We are a local charity and recently asked the community programme representative Xocoa McGee if she could assist us with some fundraising. We were absolutely delighted when she offered us a substantial raffle prize and 10% all purchases the charity makes - so that we can keep our building in good condition. She was so friendly and genuinely interested in all of the things we were doing for the local community. It was so refreshing to find a national company that actually cares about its immediate community. Many others have brushed off our requests with a pre-written email about the national charities they give to. Well done to all at Wickes High Wycombe for looking out for their neighbours - keep up the good work!

An exceptionally supportive store with special mention to Xocoa McGee Operations Manager and Community Programme Representative - High Wycombe.
Our community program could not have achieved what it has without the support of her and her colleagues, Wickes and their partners.

We choose Wickes to design and build our new kitchen as there was a special offer going at the time. The process went pretty smoothly from start to finish. We were very happy with the work produced by the designer and als the kitchen fitter who project managed the build. Communication was good, we were kept informed and any issues were sorted out promptly. The finished kitchen looks lovely. It is really important to have a good team for this kind of project and we were lucky to work with Dimu and Mark from the High Wycombe branch.

We had two bathrooms completely refurbished & could not be more pleased.
Azee our design consultant listened carefully to our ideas & produced some great plans for us to work with. There was no pressure during the time he visited to take measurements or during our appointments in store & we had plenty of time to think about & tweak our plans so we were completely happy with all of them.
Our fitter Leslaw was the best workman we have ever had & I can’t recommend him highly enough! He was a really hard worker, polite & efficient. He solved a couple of issues that came up during fitting very quickly - these were to do with our house not Wickes. Leslaw always arrived at the time he said he would & communicated clearly about what work he had done each day. Just brilliant.
We are delighted with our bathrooms & would not hesitate to use Wickes again in the future.

A great team with Azee designing and Jack as a fantastic fitter. Only a few minor issues that were resolved quickly. The only major issue for us was the induction hob not doing what we expected but that is really due to a lack of upfront information from AEG.

Our bathroom and cloakroom were 50 years old and we had wanted to refurbish them for some time although not sure of the detail design. Dimu, the designer, was excellent and after some discussion came through with a layout for both rooms. Yanik, the "pocket rocket" installer, was incredible. I have never seen such a fast & efficient worker. He interpreted the fine detail of our requirements as he went along and we now have an excellent solution for both rooms. Neither Dimu or Yarik could be faulted. Thankyou Wickes.
