There are times when you come across a person that you are so impressed with, that you are compelled to write a review. I came across Charlotte from the a newcastle store. A bubbly, enthusiastic sales Manager in the Newcastle store. We were going away very disappointed by the attitude of another sales person in the same store when we asked for assistance from Charlotte. She was so thorough in her explanation of the shed that we inquired about and was a pleasant person to speak to. We bought the shed and would highly recommend Wickes to give Charlotte a deserving praise for a job well done.

My husband and I recently got a new bathroom and used Wickes Newcastle.
A big shoutout to Jackie who was excellent throughout the process and really took the time to listen to what we wanted and needed, and found an excellent contractor who could fit the bathroom in a reasonable timeframe due to me being pregnant.
We’re really pleased with all of the parts - everything is well made and looks great.
Another big shoutout to MDS NE Plumbers who fitted the bathroom for us. They were excellent, really professional, clean and friendly throughout.

From the start the Newcastle store design consultant, Chelsea Broady, listened carefully to what we wanted and made suggestions, then quickly drew the design. Chelsea was very knowledgeable about the products and was able to answer all our questions. Once we had agreed the design and paid the deposit, we had a personal customer coordinator, Ryan, who held our hand throughout. With regular checkups to ensure everything was going well, and helping if we phoned with a query, it was very reassuring to know we had good support. A fitter, Steve, was assigned and came out to survey the work required and give a start date. That all happened in January and the work completed on 20th April, so timescale was acceptable. The delivery firm sent a date for delivery with a helpful video on what to prepare for in terms of space to store the kit. There was one problem with the delivery in that one bench top was the wrong one and this caused a delay of almost a week to get the correct one delivered. On the scale of things this wasn't a disaster and Steve worked Good Friday and half Easter Saturday to complete the work. Throughout the fitting, Steve told us what to expect at each stage, he consulted us frequently to ensure we were happy and that he had understood the requirements, and the finished kitchen looks excellent. Overall, every service involved was very professional and easy to deal with. We are delighted with the new kitchen, it looks modern and fresh, we love using it and am so glad we chose Wickes as our supplier.

Thank you for Graeme for being a fantastic member of staff. I came into a very busy Newcastle store on bank holiday Monday with my baby daughter to buy builders, but unfortunately couldn’t carry it myself nor could I put it in the pushchair. Graeme spotted this, and got me a trolly and pushed the sand to the front of the store. Without his help, I wouldn’t have been able to buy this. Thank you once again for your help

Recently had our bathrooms done by Wickes, Andrew planned the rooms for us and it worked really well.
MDS Plumbing carried out the work which was done really well and everything finished off to perfection.

This is the second time we have used Wickes, we were really pleased with our kitchen installation that we decided to use them again for our bathroom.
Service in store from Andrew was great and ensured we got what we wanted for a good price. We were then assigned MDS Plumbing to our installation who were brilliant, Marc & Dean were very thorough and took the time to rectify issues with our bathroom from historic work, they made sure everything was finished to a high standard. We are very pleased with our new bathroom and would recommend Wickes and MDS Plumbing.

Initially good experience ruined by shoddy product and poor customer service. Was originally thrilled with my fully fitted (not flat pack!) kitchen, but after just 18 months the paint on the plinth along the bottom of 3 wall units began to flake off. I contacted Wickes who sent a replacement straight away, great, but when a fitter came to install the replacement it flaked and chipped and couldn't be used. Another plinth was sent. A different fitter came out. EXACTLY the same issue occurred. I contacted them again and another plinth sent. Although a fitter contacted me to arrange a date, Wickes have now informed me they won't be fitting the plinth as they have decided the problem is 'impact damage'. 3 separate units in different areas of the kitchen have 'impact damage'? Or have two different experienced fitters caused 'impact damage'? It is obvious that there is a manufacturing fault with the plinth, and replacements, but rather than sorting this out with manufacturers they have washed theirs hands of the issue, and I have a £10k kitchen which is ruined.
Update - despite being told someone would contact me about this case, nobody has. This week a fitter did come to fit the (third) replacement plinth, and had exactly the same issue with the edges chipping when he cut them. The damage was slightly less noticeable than other times, so I agreed he could do ahead and fit them (to make the kitchen slightly more presentable before Christmas) and that I would ask if there is any way to get paint from the manufacturer to touch up the edges (I cannot keep taking time away from work to have endless kitchen fitters here). However, now Customer Services have emailed to say they have spoken to the fitter and closed the case. I've advised I want the case escalated as a complaint, but who knows if anything will happen.

I have given the top rating as the whole kitchen project from initial contact through to installation was professional and timely.Andrew Walker,Design Consultant, gave us the plans to create the kitchen that exceeded our expectations. Simon Ord, Kitchen Installer, his workmanship and project management was of the highest order.Simon’s team of tradesmen were all first rate.I would also like to mention Siobhan of Customer Services who dealt with a concern I had swiftly. The end product has given us a kitchen that everyone involved should be as proud as we are.
