James @ Wilson peacock Lettings Bedford

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to James and Ellie@ Bedford for their outstanding support in letting out my property. From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and easily approachable. Although James recommended tradesman didn’t respond but we got there in the end. James was quick to find tenants at the crucial time.
I’m truly grateful for their dedication and would highly recommend James and Ellie to anyone looking for reliable and professional property services.

Beyond Disgusted

Wilson and Peacock demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism and transparency regarding a recent rental in Milton Keynes. Significant maintenance issues were not disclosed upfront and only came to light after I had committed time and money. These concerns were downplayed rather than addressed, and communication was evasive throughout.

Despite the property clearly not being in a habitable or agreed condition, they are now refusing to return my holding deposit. This has caused unnecessary stress and financial loss and was entirely avoidable. I would strongly advise others to not proceed with this agency at all.

James Richens manages my property at Wilson Peacock in Bedford, and he is absolutely brilliant. He handles both the tenants and myself with professionalism and care, always smoothing out situations through his hard work and reassuring approach. Nothing is ever too much trouble for him, and his communication is excellent. A real asset to the company — highly recommended.

Landlords review - Let only service

I am a Landlord of a couple of properties in bedford, got in touch with wilson and peacock about a let only service.

Both James and Monica were extremely pleasant and professional to work with and the property was let quickly.

What more can you ask for?

Wilson Peacock Letting Agency Bedford.

Avoid this company. This company is also Countrywide Letting Agency. Please avoid for your sanity sake. AVOID.

Company took letting agency "Full Management Services" for my property. They offloaded property management to Northampton or wherever they choose. They do not respond to escalation, they do not visit the property as documented in their contract. In one full year, NO VISIT.
Tenant is living with bird droplets and told me the agency is not responded and claim they can't contact Landlord.
Agency staff are not communicating internally with staff asking for update after I have resolved bathroom issue for them for over 4 weeks !
Their staffs are always not available and no handover to new replacement staff. It's almost like a new conversation every time you call. The worst case, this agency collects rent , do not provide the Full Management services as evidenced, and yet, the do not remit rental income to Landlord. The agency is profiting from services not rendered to Tenant and also not remitting to Landlord. I wonder how the directors sleep peacefully at night. After escalating to their internal complaint team, still the same old long pre-formatted response.

Slow response

I have been trying to request for two things since early September. The permission for upgrading the Wi-Fi (by the end of 2025 copper internet cable will be determined in the UK) at home to fibre optic, the other requests is to request another fob. It is just a "yes" or "no" answer from the landlord and currently is taking them more than two weeks to respond. There is currently no internet in the property for almost two weeks, such a disaster

Great communication

Fraser within their Lettings Dept in Bedford was excellent. He had local knowledge, great communication and enjoyable company whilst he showed us some studios to let.

What a rubbish estate agent !!! Promises of "I'll ring you back " No reply to emails even though the requests were quite straightforward and zero confidence in these people !! They know who they are.

So back in November I bought a flat through them and though I explained the seller was known to me and was rather awkward but I still went ahead with the purchase. I did everything from providing my solicitor details to proving I had the funds to purchase the property.

The seller was asked numerous times to provide details of their solicitor, how long the lease was and other questions which went unanswered. I requested the information from the seller and was totally fobbed off and then on the 13/03/25 I was told by the seller that they didn't want to sell the property to me after all. Long standing problems as I already own a flat in the building. I have't been told by the estate agent the sale is off. I notified them by email !!!

The estate agent in my mind failed to ensure the seller had an appropriate solicitor, failed to respond to my numerous requests for leasehold/freehold information and timescale. No updates and just a wishy washy response to constructive questions. The truth is the seller didn't have a solicitor in place at the point of sale.

I even told the person that was supposed to be dealing with the sale it was rude to ignore emails. Overall a rubbish service and combined with the nonsense from the seller this has been a waste of nearly four months.

Shame to leave a negative review but I do not like being messed around.

We had a really back experience with…

We had a really back experience with this company, Both Reece C and travis T do require further meetings. We occupied `19 proteus house. Two days before the end of tenancy we was told to not worry about cleaning the property down, which i found extremely strange, i vocally stated over the phone, are you sure and we wont be affected with our deposit, Travis said 'i can assure you it wont impact your deposit' its been 6 months and we have just been informed the landlord has been awarded some of the cleaning costs which is totally unfair. We now will open a claim with the court again Wilson peacock and the landlord. I wouldn't recommend this company because when an issue occurs they scatters like sheep. No one here wants to communicate and help.

Sadly no option to leave zero stars

Sadly no option to leave zero stars. Absolute disgraceful letting agents whether you’r a Tenant looking for a home of a landlord considering this company managing your property I’d avoid! Strung me along for 2 weeks extremely quick to take a holding fee and then zero communication or updates 20 plus calls to the office and nobody answers however if you call the number on right move they answer instantly! Mark who claims to be a “manager” is a bare face liar and told myself and my husband that we don’t pass the checks due to affordability despite having the Email from the reference agency saying “all passed” he then continued to lie about advising saying the he couldn’t contact the ref agency on a Saturday however I was able to talk to them and they confirm that Wilson Peacock are renowned for poor communication. Due to not wanting to lose the property I offered £5100 to cover 3 mths rent. Mark the manager then claims he’s not able to contact the landlord directly until the checks have all gone through? Now I’m even more confused as apparently he has been advised they have gone through but we can’t afford the property? “Caught out lying” I then call the office and this time he answers but claims to also be on the phone to the landlord dispute being on the phone to me. 13 mins later he calls me and says he’s had an extensive conversation and the landlord has turned us down! Why? No reason. What landlord turns down 3 mths rent in advance None as he’d not actually contacted the landlord. Lesson 1 mark if your going to try renting a property in a small village beware that everyone knows each other. Also you may want to check as the property was also purchased on a “help to buy scheme” meaning you are unable to LET the property out. Also appreciate you holding on to my holding deposit for a further 7 days. Solicitor will be advised.

Stay away cowboy outfit

Stay away cowboy outfit, Milton Keynes office. Try to con you out off larger deposits for rental properties and never answer the phone. Constant lies from the manager Mark, so time wasting and unprofessional, be careful.
