Super cute idea, love the hat; so excited I bought enough to make two. Yet, the cotton wool quality is disappointing--it unravels easily making it hard to make a clean stitch; individual threads catch or get hooked in the crochet needle so it's very fussy. The written instructions are hard/confusing to follow and though a video is indicated on the checker stitch, one doesn't exist. I checked with the company. It's also not clear how to weave in the yarn not in use--the description is awkward where a video would be really helpful-- nor is it evident how to keep the two balls of yarn separate enough while interweaving them in checker stitch so that they don't end up as a tangled knot. Thus, I am generating a messy, stringy, slightly wonky hat that requires regular untangling rather than the clean checkered number pictured. It's a bit more stress than pleasure, and for the price, it's borderline worth it.
