Raffia has been a little difficult to work with and as a result, I haven't been 'called' by this project very much. Probably will be easier once I get a few rows under my belt-- I have had to unravel my work a couple of times. I don't recall seeing a review which mentioned this difficulty, and it would be helpful if you could include any tips about working with raffia in the instruction book. especially given the "easy" rating. A complete kit is always going to be more expensive than buying one's own materials which I was unable to go out and do this winter.

What arrived in the package was exactly as promised and clearly of superb quality. It's not an absolute beginners product though so beware you may need to have had some experience crocheting beforehand.

Overall, its a beautiful summer tote bag. Rafia is a little difficult to crochet with. The bag came out "ok" ( a few mistakes in the joining sides putting it together), and I will make another one for my daughter because she loves the one I made. I used the color palm desert and she will have the grass green version. It would help if there were color pictures of the bag being made along with finished measurements of each piece. I followed the directions well but my bag came out to be larger than the pattern's version. I may go with a smaller crochet hook next round. Thanks Wool and the Gang for wonderful patterns and products.
