So far I have built the first few rows of this pattern in size 1 several times- and the stitch count does not work out no matter how I interpret it. There appears to be an issue with the odd-number-sized pattern directions. Further, the included hook was too large to achieve the prescribed stitch density in the swatch. I stepped down to a smaller hook to match the density swatch and built a row, but the row was not nearly as long as the pattern size guide indicates. The sweater, if made to match the density swatch, would be much smaller than the sizing guide. Now I am not sure what size to make, if the density swatch is correct, or why the pattern does not work in size 1. In light of the struggle, I stopped working on the project. I was hoping that investing in a pattern and kit from a well-marketed brand would give me a fashionable and well tested design- but it appears that my experience with the pattern is common. There are reddit threads specifically pertaining to pattern struggles on this sweater, and the consensus online is that it might not work in odd-number-sized versions. I have yet to try to build it in a different size. Super bummed.

The yarn is nice but the pattern is very bad. The video tutorials it links to do not exist. I had to spend 30 minutes trying to find the video it is referencing. This video was also extremely unhelpful and inconsistent. The pattern was also very confusing and and a bit inconsistent. Buy the yarn separately and find another pattern to follow.

Pattern for odd sizes is wrong. The cotton is lovely, but in the end I didn’t even use the pattern since it seems to have multiple errors. Really disappointed since it was a huge waste of time trouble shooting it.

The pattern is wrong. For all sizes. I got through almost an entire sleeve, and then had to redo everything when I realized. Luckily I found a YouTube video where other customers confirmed the same thing. I’m still not finished, so TBD on if this sweater will even come together.

I tried following the pattern from the book. I really don't think it's written right. It was a lot of attempting and undoing until I gave up and watched a video online instead that wasn't even by this brand. This was my first crochet project but I still worked through it because I was excited. It was discouraging in the beginning because I was following the pattern stitch for stitch but it still didn't line up. I'd encourage wool and the gang to revisit the way this pattern is written.
