Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 184 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the products, citing issues with game descriptions not matching the actual gameplay, consoles breaking down within a year, and a lack of new, innovative games, with some feeling that only graphics have improved. The pricing of games and subscriptions, particularly the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, was a major concern, with many finding the price increases unacceptable and feeling that the value no longer justifies the cost. Reviewers also frequently encountered significant problems with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, difficult to reach a real person, and designed to avoid responsibility. The subscription model itself was a source of frustration, with people feeling forced to purchase Game Pass for features that were previously free or to play with friends. The overall user experience was also criticized due to frequent system and game updates, issues with account access, and difficulties with online multiplayer.

The console isn’t the best it can olny run 120 fps sometimes and there’s also this annoying feature where if your controller is not connected it stops your gameplay so I don’t recommend keyboard and mouse because if your in a intense game and it disconnects then it stops your game and your cooked, my Xbox lasted a year then stopped working good.

The Frustration of Xbox Customer…

The Frustration of Xbox Customer Support

I’ve been with Xbox for years. Through every console generation, every update, and every subscription renewal, I’ve stuck with this company because I believed in what they stood for: gaming, connection, and community. But after years of loyalty, I’ve come to realize something deeply disappointing — Xbox customer support is absolutely terrible.

I waited three hours in the support queue today. Three. Whole. Hours. And for the last hour, I was sitting at “Position 1” — the top of the list — just staring at my screen while nothing happened. Nobody reached out. Nobody helped. It’s like their “support” team is made of ghosts who clock in and do nothing. How can a billion-dollar company fail this badly at basic communication with their customers?

All of this started because I bought an Xbox gift card — a simple, everyday purchase. It was activated, I have the receipt, everything checks out. But when I tried to redeem it, it didn’t work. I figured it would be a quick fix. Turns out, I was wrong. Xbox support didn’t lift a finger to help me. They’re supposed to solve problems like this, yet they left me hanging for hours, as if my time doesn’t matter.

It’s beyond frustrating — it’s disrespectful. For a company as large and influential as Xbox, there’s no excuse for customer service this bad. People spend their hard-earned money on Xbox products because they trust the brand, but when something goes wrong, that trust completely breaks down. They need to seriously check on their support system and the people running it, because from the looks of it, nobody there is doing their job.

I shouldn’t have to beg a company I’ve supported for years just to get basic help. Xbox needs to remember that their success comes from the players — the ones who buy their consoles, their games, their gift cards. Without us, there is no Xbox.

Until they fix their broken support system and start treating their customers like they actually matter, this company doesn’t deserve the loyalty it once had. Xbox, do better.

Xbox is a joke

What a joke you put the monthly price up for game pass because you have all these day one releases and the Microsoft store is down and I cant download outer worlds 2, sort it out its beyond a joke at the minute, I will be cancelling my subscription and I was going to stay too after the price increase but what's the point if I can't even download the games when they come out. Great job absolutely killing xbox 👏

Xbox nightmare

I received a permanent ban without warning.

I was on holiday outside of my home region, Singapore.
I always take my xbox S while traveling.

While hotspotting on my work mobile phone as hotel wifi was rubbish, I used my work VPN to connect to my company's network. The VPN was set to automatically activate upon use.
I then purchased a game from my correct, home-region store- Singapore.
The system likely flagged my account for fraudulent activity because the IP address from the VPN did not match my billing address and region.
I want to be clear that this was a genuine and unintentional error, not a malicious attempt to violate the terms of service. I was not trying to exploit regional pricing or make a purchase from an unauthorized market. I simply was unable to disable the VPN before making the purchase.
I am a long-time 20 year loyal Xbox user, and I have never had a prior enforcement action on my account. I appealed and was rejected, nobody at Xbox is wiling to lift a finger, I lost $1000s worth of games.

Microsoft hate their user-base!

So, in addition to constantly reducing the amount of reward points I can earn, this petty company has now put an extra requirement of a phone number before I can redeem my tiny £5 reward!

I scanned their QR Code and followed the steps, choosing an alternative email address instead of a phone number and guess what? I'm STILL UNABLE TO CLAIM MY PALTRY £5 REWARD!!!

Microsoft, YOU CLEARLY HATE PEOPLE USING YOUR "REWARDS" PROGRAM SO INSTEAD OF MAKING IT PROGRESSIVELY MORE UNPLEASANT TO USE, JUST GET RID OF IT LIKE YOU WANT TO YOU SLIMEBAGS!

We bought an Xbox series X

We bought an Xbox series X.

Unless you have an IT software engineer in the family, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Access to the console, to an account, to a subscription service, the security settings, the two factor authentication, the secret world of Microsoft passwords and account locking (30 days) means that we have no access to anything unless we a) buy a Nintendo or b) wait 30 days staring at what is essentially a £500 lump of plastic.

You will also need high speed internet connection, a minimum of £7 a month, buy another controller, have an EA games account and an Activision account.

If you do get in- and you think you’ve bought a game, or the free game you paid for is playable - think again. There are another 8-10 things you’ll need to buy or subscribe to in order to begin to thinking about fun, or entertainment.

Microsoft “help” are a dead end of bots and AI “support”.
We got a human by saying we want to cancel the subscription (surprise surprise) and we cancelled our £6.99 subscription and got a refund.

We will buy disc games with no online access until we can sell this and get a PS5 or a Nintendo.

This isn’t sour grapes. I know how to navigate devices and payment systems. This is just another level unnecessary ********.

Permanent Ban Issued Without Fair Review — Enforcement System Broken

I’m writing to formally challenge the handling of my Xbox enforcement case. My account received a permanent ban, and despite multiple attempts to escalate and explain my situation, I was met with dismissive and aggressive behavior from support agents. One agent outright refused to hear my explanation and shut down the conversation.

I requested a downgrade from permanent to temporary suspension based on context and proportionality, but the enforcement system offers no supervisor access, no transparency, and no accountability. The Case Review portal is limited, and support agents claim they “can’t help with enforcement,” leaving customers trapped in a broken loop.

I’ve documented my case history, including agent names (e.g., Muhammed Shameem), chat transcripts, and emotional impact. I’m asking for:

A formal supervisor review of my enforcement case

A downgrade from permanent to temporary ban, based on context

Accountability for how support agents handled my escalation

Microsoft must do better. Customers deserve a fair process, respectful communication, and a chance to resolve enforcement disputes without being silenced.

Best regards, PeLuChE360
