Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 184 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the products, citing issues with game descriptions not matching the actual gameplay, consoles breaking down within a year, and a lack of new, innovative games, with some feeling that only graphics have improved. The pricing of games and subscriptions, particularly the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, was a major concern, with many finding the price increases unacceptable and feeling that the value no longer justifies the cost. Reviewers also frequently encountered significant problems with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, difficult to reach a real person, and designed to avoid responsibility. The subscription model itself was a source of frustration, with people feeling forced to purchase Game Pass for features that were previously free or to play with friends. The overall user experience was also criticized due to frequent system and game updates, issues with account access, and difficulties with online multiplayer.

Reliability

I had my Xbox for 11 years now and it has never had a issue. These machines are incredibly reliable and are very cost effective.

Goodbye Xbox

Goodbye Xbox. Microsoft is just another greedy company that treats it's cutomers poorly. The old "who cares, someone else will still buy it" routine. Good riddance. Going back to Playstation. Xbox is trash

Ffs everytime I switch this poxy console on it needs a system update then you get into the game and it needs another update then another update in the game!! Literally qtf am i paying for gamepass with this bs. Microsoft has gotten lazy with xbox literally just releasing remasters of the same halo games and, not making anything new. Seriously debating switching to PlayStation and avoiding Microsoft affiliated games just out of anger!!

Firat of all I love Xbox but… warzone free??

Firat of all I love Xbox. I played a lot of Xbox 360 in my days, those controllers were perfect. But now to my issue with Microsoft. My Xbox friend and I tried to play warzone together but we couldn’t join each other in a party because they needed to buy the game pass, it shouldn’t be like that. It’s supposed to be a free game please make it clear somehow or somewhere that it is a game pass needed experience because otherwise you have invested time to download it and try to fix it and then just realising that you need to pay for it to play with your friends and that’s just that’s just disgusting of you guys. Don’t Xbox understand that they will loose players to the PS4/5, because over at ps the warzone is free totally, no plus needed

The Xbox Series X console is fantastic

The Xbox Series X console is fantastic. I have both the Series S and X. I'm simply here to beg Microsoft to please stop creating WOKE games. Or at least slow way down with this initiative. I'm not going to sit here and list all the games that are disappointing the majority of your gamer base. The formula for success is far more simpler than pushing this silly narrative. Please stop ruining a great thing with these next generation consoles.

they have stolen my Xbox account and will not help me recover the account because i don't still have the devices i used 15 years ago. Microsoft and Xbox have become one of the biggest companies in the world off the customers money and still steal from their customers. i have nothing but complete ill feelings for anyone associated with his company. I wish i could take them to court and make them pay big time!!!

I bought an xbox s series new in the…

I bought an xbox s series new in the box about over a year ago, worked perfectly at first then 6 month in, it started closing and crashing games out of no where to the point it was unplayable, I cleaned dust off it and moved it somewhere else to get more space for air to get though, this didn't work so I cleared out basically all my games to see if storage was the issue, didn't work, so I opened it up and cleaned out all dust to see if this would help, nope, I ended up doing everything possible to fix thus issue including completely factory resetting it multiple time and cleaning it constantly but nothing worked, a year later I turned it on hoping it may have improved, first day it was working fine again like it was new, next day it was fine till later in the day it started crashing every 20 mins again so once again I cleaned and moved it, no improvement when back to being completely unusable, thinking of changing to ps5 or getting a steam cube if possible because its gotten so bad I don't see the point in even trying to get it fixed as no matter what I do it always starts acting up again, never buying from xbox again p.s this is my first xbox, played other consoles my whole life, never had even half the issues I've had with xbox

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is starting to…

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is starting to become a joke. The price keeps going up almost every year, but the content definitely doesn’t match it. Paying such a high monthly fee would make sense if the service actually offered real new releases — but it doesn’t. Where is NHL 26? Where is EAFC 26? Where are major titles like Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2? The subscription costs more and more, yet players aren’t getting any added value in return.

Game Pass used to stand for day-one access to AAA titles. Now it feels more like a lottery whether anything worthwhile shows up at all. A price increase would be understandable if the quality was going up too. But here, only the price is going up. Microsoft should really think about whether they want to attract players or push them away. For this kind of money, I expect more than a catalog of older games.

price hike ruins the value

ve been a Game Pass subscriber for years, but this new price jump from £14.99 to £22.99 a month is ridiculous — that’s over a 53% increase.

At £22.99, it now costs about £275.88 a year, and honestly, it’s just not worth it. I’m more of a passive player, so paying that much when I realistically only play 2 or 3 games a year doesn’t make sense anymore. For that price, I could just buy the games I actually enjoy and own them outright instead of renting access.

It’s a shame because the model used to be great value for money, but it’s clear they’re now milking loyal players. I’ve cancelled my subscription hopefully Microsoft rethinks this before more of us do the same.
