Awful business practice
I am not impressed wth Michaels attempt to garner sympathy by mentioning his family in an earlier reply.
I do not believe that the first knowledge of the likelihood of liquidation was on Monday afternoon, and In that case it would have been more ethical if the company had stopped taking money from customers weeks ago, and at the same time ensuring that they honoured works in their order book.
Personally I do not know for sure that I will get my money returned as I did not pay with a credit card. I am not in a position to get credit and so have been budgeting for this door for well over a year. I will not have a new door ready for the winter, I cannot employ another door maker until if and when I get my money back. Worst case scenario I start saving again and get a new door in 2018.
When can I expect date for fitting door
I have tried to contact Yale doors by phone and email but get no response. I have paid in full for a composite door to be supplied and fitted and want to know when it will be done. Michael you said you would contact me on the 2nd October but this never happened you even gave me your mobile phone number but never get back to me. Please answer my requests. I have given you until October 14th to get in touch with me . Mrs turner
Midlands and Oxfordshire Installers
We were a small double glazing company operating out of the back of a van, as many double glaziers do. Until Yale Door approached us to install their composite doors in the Midlands, we started off with a couple a week, and as they saw the quality of our work we slowly fitted more and more, until we were averaging 10 a week, this prompted us to invest in a unit to store the ever increasing volume of doors, things continued to rocket and at our peak we had 2 teams fitting 2 doors a day. We fitted the competition winners, the VIP customers and sorted out anything that was a bit tricky or any customers that needed a bit of TLC. Our area grew to the under side of Manchester down to Oxford, We were also asked to front the install side of the Warmcore bi-fold section of the company, covering the whole country apart from Scotland, which we thought was testament to our hard work and dedication to Yale Door. Payments were regular and everything ran like clockwork, up until a few months ago, payments started slowing down and things were not as they were, I could tell something was up and the office staff were not their usual cheerful selves, then there was a few changes in the camp, and this is when things really changed, I even had a meeting with the management, about my concerns, but it seemed to fall on deaf ears. At this point payments had almost stopped, but we were still doing surveys, installs, and remedial work.
I don't for one minute think that the company were out to con anyone, I just feel a lot of mistakes were made, and were let down by manufactures who should of been there to support not hinder things. Poor deliveries from certain manufactures didn't help matters either.
A part of me is very thankful to all the team at Yale Door, because in the period of 18 months we have gone from trading in a van, to having a unit with Office, Showroom and Trade counter, but a part of me wishes that Michael hadn't been so blinded by the advice of people that were just after a wage and listened to people that wanted to help him. I just hope as a business we get the £6000 we are owed and customers get their money back, or at least the doors they paid for.

Faulty door
I had a door fitted in Feb and entered into a finance agreement. The door was the wrong color when fitted (I was at work so didn't know) and had damage to it. I have since been trying to get the door repaired and have had a door fitter come and look at the door due to issues with its fitting. I have been advised that i need to get the door seen to ASAP due to issues with its fitting. So i have a damaged door, the wrong color from the one i ordered and its life span is being reduced due to poor fitting. How do i claim on my guarantee, can I contact the finance company to terminate the agreement due to the poor quality provided?

Very sorry to hear about this
I purchased a front door and back door and was very happy with them. Can I ask what is the situation with the 10-year guarantees? Are they able to still be honoured in some way?
Thanks,
Tim

window installers
Hi we are a small family window company who were asked to install doors for Yale doors , we like everyone else trusted the company but have been totally taken in and been left owed thousands of pounds by this company we have in good faith been fitting and repairing jobs right up until Wednesday of this week with out the knowledge we were not being paid for our work leaving myself having to pay our installers out of my own pocket , it is obvious there was problems within in the company as administration is the last resort and the owners would of known there is a risk to employees and subcontractors and most importantly their customers , surely the company could of been more transparent with everybody
Very disappointed

Ex employee - To clarify the on-goings of YaleDoor
Hello customers of Yale-Door,
First of all I want to apologise for the in competency of Yale-Door. I'd like to say, whoever I had contact with I honestly didn't know what was going off behind the scenes, I assumed that I was providing a product that should last for around 30-35 years with a guarantee which was rock solid. I know they had issues within the customer service department, this was due to the very high volumes of complaints and only one person dealing with them. Turns out on the morning of the 4th Oct 2016 Yale-Door went into administration meaning mine and the rest of the team was made redundant without pay. The stress of all this has made me feel quite depressed, however writing this is a way of releasing some the anger I have inside towards Yale-Door & Micheal Armstrong (Ex MD of Yale-door) which makes me feel better.
I hope each and everyone of you get your money back because they don't deserve a get a penny of it. You should check with your credit card issuer as they will refund you your money back in full due to the circumstances.
I am now looking for a company where I can offer the same exceptional service in sales within the window & Door market, I will make sure the next company with have an infrastructure set up to provide the quality and service you pay for.
If any window and door company in the Midlands area are looking to employ an extremely passionate and hardworking person, please contact me through Facebook.
Sincerely
Mark Le Mercier

Thank you for your reply Michael, however I did not receive any texts or Emails from you or HR during this time, Is this yet another lie I see? The only paper work I want now is my P45 so I can move on...
Let me ask you one question publicly... In August when you received the winding up order, did you not think that stopping sales and to stop taking money from the public would be a better option than to let this happen? People who brought from Yale door, brought products from us because they trusted the brand! I sold doors because I trusted you was going to keep to your promise and deliver their doors!!! I do believe every dog has there day, Trust me Michael Armstrong, you WILL have yours!!!
furiously,
Mark Le Mercier

Probably lost the £90 deposit
After taking a deposit of £90 in August, Yale Door called to inform us that the 24 months at 0% (previously advertised on their site) deal was no longer available. They asked us to pay the money in full, (thankfully) we said we were not interested in those terms and could not proceed. They then called us back and told us that the 24 months at 0% deal was now open to us and put us in touch with Lendable – the company who would manage the finance agreement. Like James Hawkins (and no doubt many others) Lendable got in touch with us yesterday stating that they would no longer be working with Yale Door.
I do not hold out much hope of recovering the £90 deposit money.
Jerry Smith - Thank you for the advice.

Soon to be on watchdog most likely, looks like a criminal operation.
I placed an order with Yale door 6 weeks ago, however I have just found out they have gone into liquidation and that I won't be getting my money back. Funnily enough they have nothing to do with the official Yale company despite ripping off their name and, shockingly, logo down to a "T".
For anyone in the same predicament please contact your bank ASAP to try and get your money back, worth a call to trading standards too. Don't wait another day, no doors or refunds are coming! The man behind this scam seems to have had many other companies which seem to have folded in a similar fashion and this does not seem to be the first time a faux "Yale Door" brand scam company run by him has folded. Looking through the positive reviews on here, there is a suspicious pattern. I think multiple of the positive reviews have been put up by the company themselves. Some reviews have been removed at his request due to the sharing of private details so I wonder if I'm not the first to blow up his scam and point out what he has been up to.
I won't mention him by name here but its easily found on Companies House. To my surprise he still has a few active companies on there so CAVEAT EMPTOR people! Now seeking to report this guy in every way possible, he needs to be shut down.

Disappointed
Just received an email from Lendable saying that they are no longer working with this company so would appear yale door is no more. Makes sense as they have been very reluctant to answer why my door was taking so long and have been uncontactable for the last 2 weeks very lucky they didn't get a penny out of us but feel for those who were no so fortunate.

I want my money back
So far ordered 6 weeks ago, trying to get an idea of door completion, delivery date...any information possible. in fact however as yet no response from Customer Services, email or webchat
I just want my money back and will go to a reputable company
UPDATE
I have noticed there is no information for those of us who have paid by debit card and therefore not subject to the same consumer laws as those who have paid by credit card.

Gone into liquidation! NOTHING to do with the official Yale Locks. Total Rogues!
Absolutely gutted to have fallen for this company's clever ploy by using the trusted name Yale to fool customers into thinking they had an affiliation to Yale locks. They are nothing to do with them! Looking through the reviews some customers who have had bad experiences are still under the impression they are one and the same! They took an order from us a month before going into liquidation. We thought it strange when they requested we pay the full amount up front (contrary to what it says on their website) but very annoyingly we thought we were dealing with a Yale locks sister company and that we were in trusted hands. Hindsight is 20/20 vision of course and no reputable company should do this, they obviously knew they were going under and wanted to bleed every last drop out of their customers! Now, £3400 out of pocket, we have been unable to get any sort of response from the company and have initiated proceedings to try and get our money back. This is a lot of money for us, shame on these rogue traders! With luck we shall get our money back eventually and, considering all the terrible reviews, we will be dodging a bullet by not receiving these sub-par doors that seem to have all sorts of fitting and quality issues!
EDITED TO RESPOND:
Thanks for the copy/paste Michael. It is at least appreciated that you are trying to explain the situation but one can only imagine you are trying to save face for your own future pursuits.
I remain to be furious. No way do I buy that you were unaware of your company's failing status when you took everyone's money so close to the end. Irresponsible ignoramous at best, black hearted criminal at worst. I would also appreciate an explanation as to why we were bullied into paying a 100% deposit, clearly you had a little policy change there in an effort to bleed us dry at the last hurdle! You've succeeded, congratulations, this has really, really kicked the sand in our eyes. While I appreciate that it was our fault for agreeing to these shady, unprofessional terms, we are young and in our first home with a security issue that called for emergency stronger doors. You have taken complete advantage of us and left us high and dry. I very much hope we can get our money back considering we paid by debit card. A very unfortunate learning curve for us. Hopefully one for you too. I hope you realise how much damage your company has done and that it haunts you in your future career.

Yale Doors Liquidation
Just had a Yale door fitted just over a week ago and had nothing but problems with fitting. Door has dropped and won't open.
Just found out Yale Doors went into liquidation yesterday ( 5th Oct). Didn't pay by credit card, 10 year guarantee worthless.
Suppose I'm now going to have to pay someone else to come in and fix.
Customer service is Horrific!
First off I want to say the product itself is fine but is made from an entirely different company, if I had of known this before hand I probably would of ordered direct.
We ordered 3 doors for self fit back in April. This caused problems straight away as they could only put 2 doors on one order so had to create 2 order numbers. I called after about 3 weeks for an update and was told the doors were ready but I would need to wait to speak to Mandy to find out when they would be delivered and told she would call back to discuss.
Another couple of weeks went past with no phone call returned. I called again and was told that I would be called back by Mandy. No call received. At this point it was holding up our renovations and costing us money as it was holding up our other tradesmen.
A week or so later after a few more empty promises of a call back I got through to customer services and was told that two of the doors were ready and the third would be ready soon. A couple more weeks passed still no doors or a phone call to update us. After I called again numerous times I was eventually told that the order for the third door never made it to the manufacturers so wouldn't be ready for a few more weeks. I told theme that they would have to send the 2 doors they had so we could move on with other works, and they agreed. I was assured that this would be ready quickly and all 3 doors would be sent at the same time. It then took a week or so and we had the doors.
Several weeks pass and no third door in sight and no courtesy call with any update to let us know where it is. I call get another promise of a return call which never happens, I call again a week later and the door is ready to be delivered the next week.
I stupidly did not check this door when it arrived as the delivery man was 3 hours late and we had somewhere to be.
A few days later I removed the old door and went to fit the new door. It was damaged. I had to fit the door because the old one was in pieces but took photos of the door before fitting and sent them to Yale to explain the situation and that the frame was ok I would just need a new door. It took a week but they agreed to send out a new slab and said it would take 2-3 weeks to make. A month later we hadn't heard anything so I e-mailed for an update and a few days late door was ready and would be sent in a couple of days which was the 12th of September. 20 weeks after placing the order!!
It's also worth mentioning that two of the doors arrived with the wrong locks. We ordered Yale 3* locks. These arrived 3 weeks after the replacement door.
We've never had a proper apology for this ordeal. The only phone calls or emails we have had, without first instigating them, is when things are eventually ready or chasing us to sign for he doors so they can receive payment.
23 weeks to complete an order when on there website it's states 2 weeks for self fit is a abismal by anyone's standard. I would be out of a job if I was that overdue with something.
Sorry for the review being so long but it has been nowhere near as long as this ordeal.
I wonder if this review will make the yaledoor website?
Worst Customer service EVER
Hello all I ordered two doors from Yale Doors and had an engineer come to measure up on Friday 30th November. And I spoke with a sales assistant on the same day who said she would call me on Monday and let me know whether or not the doors could be processed quicker than the usual 4 - 6 weeks.
On Monday 3rd October I received no call and I have literally been trying to call Customer service since 10:30am on Monday, it is now Tuesday 4th October 12:30pm!!!!!!
The phone has not been answered and the "webchat" service has not been working on the site since Monday; what a complete joke! Imagine I had let them fit the doors and then had a problem that needed resolving?? Terrible service, I now am only calling in order to get a refund.

Nice product, shame about the service....
Even though I purchased my new door on a self-fit basis, I had it professionally installed by a local tradesman. The product seemed great though some aspects raised eyebrows of concern. The trouble is that after one year the frame appears to be constantly shifting. I have tried to get Yaledoor to "assist" for nearly two months, they regularly rely on third party fitters to contact me but never follow-up to ensure the problem is being resolved. I have even offered to pay entirely for any remedial work and even for the fitter/surveyor to consdier the problem but still no response. I am now at wits end. Whilst typing this, I have been on hold and had to redial three times becasue Yaledoor's "service" appears inundated with callers (circa 25 minutes). I am minded to call Trading Standards but I am also reasonably sure that the "self-fit" contract allows Yaledoor an escape route. Just thought they might have the decency to help....
False Information & Bad Customer Service
I ordered my door online, having read that the DIY deliveries take approximately 12-14 days to be delivered and that a delivery date would be given within 2 working days.
This is misleading and false information. I bought the door hoping it would arrive within 2 weeks so my builders could install it. But when I called Yale Doors, an extremely rude lady told me that she couldn't give me a delivery date and that it would take approximately 5-6 weeks!! Yale Doors took the money from my account 10 days ago, and as their website clearly states should have given me a delivery date over a week ago. Instead, with no apology and the money out of my account, their customer service lady tells me that I only ordered my door 10 days ago, that it's in production, and that she can't tell me when I'll get my door, in a very arrogant and patronizingly rude tone.
If I knew this was the case, I wouldn't have bought my door from Yale, since my builders will probably be gone in 5 weeks.
Jon
Purchase your doors anywhere but here!! Appalling Service
I made the mistake of purchasing a Yale Door with keyless entry using YaleDoor.co.uk
First Issue : Getting the Door booked
I was told that they have a 0% EMI option, and I thought it would work out better for us paying monthly instillments rather than the full payment. However, they stated that they are currently revising their EMI Scheme and said I should call back after a week.
I called back in 1 week, no progress, 2 weeks - no progress 3rd week - again no progress.. so we decided to pay the full amount and purchase our door.
Issue 2 : Getting a Fitting Date
The only thing they did right was arrange someone to take measurements for my door. After which nothing was right.
The fitting date was given to us 1 month after we made the payment. Which was odd, because the customer services agent said it would take a maximum of 2 weeks to get a fitter come to our property.
We weren't worried or upset for this delay, as we do appreciate delays could always happen to anyone.
Issue 3 : The actual fitting day
The fitters come to my property 1 hour late. They started to break down the existing old door. Everything seemed fine, and after about breaking nearly 80% of the door, the fitters opened the new door and were fiddling with the keyless entry lock for 30-40 minutes, and made like 10 calls to ask how to fit it. (I am not sure who they were talking to).. and then they fit the new door in place.. I was under the impression the issues they had were solved. But little did I know, after finishing all the work.. the fitter says, we are done.. HOWEVER, your backup Key hole does not work.. but don't worry, you have keyless.. and the battery hopefully should not die.
I asked how long it would take to send me a replacement.. and he said 1 week and said don't worry and left.
I called customer services and asked them for an updated when i'll get this fixed. No use, called around 10 -15 times to get an answer from them. After 10 -12 days I got the fitter to come and fix this. (I had to take a day off AGAIN to get this sorted out).
And to top it all off, the fitters had damaged my newly painted wall and tried to wipe the damage with soap.. The paint came off totally.
And I got told off by the fitter to have made a complaint to YaleDoors.
Overall it was a very very bad experience, and I have ensured to tell all my mates that this company is not worth it.
After having many long conversations with them over the phone for their poor service, they gave me a 75 quid refund.
Beyond appalling
Do not use this company. It is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life.
I was informed that the door would take 15wd to arrive instead if the 10 quoted on website. On 15th day the door did not arrive. I had no contact to let me know. I spent a further week trying to get hold of someone leaving messages and sending emails. You can never get through on the phone. Finally someone called me to let me know they didn't know when the door would be there but wanted to let me know she had my message and would find out!! Over the course of 3 weeks I phoned and called numerous times, each time I was told they could not get through to 'manufacturing' and promised Someone would call me back. Not on any occasion did someone call me back. Despite me letting them know that my builders were due to finish that I had a hole in the front of my house and that I would have to pay money to get them back. Finally I spoke to the MD. he seemed like he was going to resolve the issue. This was Friday, and promised to call me back on Monday at 9.30. That call did not come. I had to call 3 more times and in the end he asked his call handler to pass on the message. 3 weeks later, significantly out of pocket and still not given a date for my door to arrive I finally cancelled the order. I am waiting for confirmation that this has been done..I won't hold my breath, somehow this won't be the end of it. They are not actually the real YALE, yaledoors is the another company and they have been featured on watch dog
