My experience with Yelp’s customer…
My experience with Yelp’s customer service has been extremely frustrating. The platform claims to value honest customer feedback, but legitimate reviews often get filtered or removed without clear explanation.
When trying to get clarification from customer service, the experience was equally disappointing. Representatives were rude, dismissive, and provided conflicting information each time I called. Instead of resolving the issue, it felt like I was going in circles and getting different answers depending on who I spoke with.
For a company built around reviews and transparency, the lack of consistent support and clear policies is concerning. I hope Yelp improves both its review moderation process and the professionalism of its customer service team.
Good food, poor service
My husband and I have eaten at Pha Khao in Racine, WI several times, and enjoyed it. During previous visits, the service was good. This time, it was the opposite. We arrived with another couple for an early dinner, but all the tables were full. The owner did not greet us, nor did he say how long we'd have to wait. Looking tense, he told a couple of teenage girls in black to vacate a table for four, and began cleaning it. The girls went behind the bar and began laughing and talking loudly. The owner gestured us to the table and we sat down, then he served water. Another teenaged girl appeared to take our drink orders. She looked grumpy, and was dressed in an overlarge t-shirt, baggy pajama bottoms, and what looked like bedroom scuffs. My husband tried to tease a smile from her, but she only lifted the corners of her mouth. The owner came out to verify my choice of Chateau Ste. Michelle cabernet, but he didn't understand which wine I asked for. He brought the bottle to the table to make certain, which was kind of him. The grumpy teen came back for our food orders: my husband chose Crisp Noodles with Chicken, and I asked for Shrimp and Basil Noodles. She entered our choices on a handheld machine, and left. The teens who were making noise behind the bar finally disappeared. Our food came in a reasonable time, except for my Shrimp and Basil Noodles, which somehow had turned into Shrimp Fried Rice. I refused that dish, and told the teen what I'd originally ordered. The owner came over, and I told him what had happened. He took the Shrimp Fried Rice back to the kitchen and put in my original order. It was served by the woman who was cooking, who had waited on us during a previous visit. The food was delicious. When we finished and packed the leftovers into to-go boxes, my husband went to the bar, called for the cook, and personally gave her the tip. It will be a while before we dine here again: by that time, perhaps the owner will find competent servers.
I went to Natalie Nails and Spa…
I went to Natalie Nails and Spa Leicester salon feeling excited as I hadn’t had my nails done for a few months, but unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. When I showed the design I wanted, the stylist commented that it was “for teens” and not suitable for my age, which felt very judgmental and unprofessional.
I asked for long almond-shaped nails, but she didn’t ask about the length and cut them short. When I mentioned I wanted them longer, she insisted the shorter length was better and said I wouldn’t be able to work with longer nails. I explained that I wasn’t happy with the result, but she became rude and still charged me the full price even though I asked her not to continue with the design.
Very disappointing attitude and customer service. I’ve been coming here for a long time, so it was upsetting to be treated this way. I expected more respect as a customer.
Yelp is a scam
Yelp is a scam! They prey on cash strapped small businesses with their free trials then $15 per hour ads! Don’t sign up! They will hit your credit card with $126 for two today if you decide to leave because it’s not working.
I had a worst experience with yelp
I had a worst experience with yelp. The business app reactive your account without notification.
In my case I had my account on long term hold but somehow it automatically got activated without notification and I was charged $450.00 for the month. The quality of leads are extremely low in most instances no contact information is provided.
Stay away from yelp!
Do not use this company “YELP”
Do not use this company, Yelp has skinny salesman that lure you in and promise you everything. Then when it doesn’t work and you cancel. They still charge you for another month. This company doesn’t do what they’re supposed to do. They’re just rips off.
Yelp stole 360.00 from my son
Yelp stole 360.00 from my son, when he was not fully informed of the terms for which he was trying to promote his little business. When we tried talking to them, they ignored us and would not give the money back. They are thieves in the highest regard. Additionally, once we shut off his card, they are now saying that he owes them more money. Like, are they for real? Horrible business, DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING.
Jaworski Concrete - Woodville Hwy Review
On January 2, 2026 Jaworski Concrete was pouring concrete on the in Fallschase for Premier Construction. Jaworski Concrete truck was parked in the middle of the road in the front of my driveway. No emergency vehicles could come down Landry Ln. We could not even pull our car/truck out of the driveway. We were prisoners in our own home for 4 to 5 hours. I spoke to Jim the leader of Jaworski Concrete, he said you moved in a subdivision where construction is going on, if you don't like construction, you should not have moved in this subdivision. He was so rude he SPIT on the grass in our front yard right in front of me. I asked Jim not to SPIT on my grass, he said, would you rather I SPIT on your concrete. I called the Tallahassee Police department and they dispatched TPD out to our house. Jaworski had moved all their concrete trucks out of the middle of the road an open lot where they should have their personal cars and trucks. They don't own the street & people who live there should have rights. All the construction workers think they can do what they with your property, the road in front of your house, block your driveway and even put their trash in my garbage can. Your workers have no respect for the homeowner's, no self-respect no regard for anything except for getting their job done no matter who's rights they infringe on. Jim needs to stop SPITTING IN MY YARD. He is one of the rudest, most obnoxious people that I have ever met. Jim just SPIT in my yard on purpose, not because he really had to SPIT. TPD said we have a right to pull out of our driveway at anytime. The Jaworski Concrete trucks are on they are parked in front of our driveway. We cannot pull in or back out of our driveway. I called Jaworski Concrete located on Woodville Hwy, left a message for the owner to call me & I never received a return call. Your workers personal cars and your construction trucks take over the road. Something needs to be done, so we have access to our driveway and NO SPITTING IN OUR YARD.
They rip honest business owners off…
They absolutely rip business owners off and take down positive real people reviews so that they can later charge you to restore them. The business is basic fraudulent scam. Do not give them your cc, they will not let you remove it.
Yelp caters to corporations/businesses…
Yelp caters to corporations/businesses and hides and/or threatens particular negative reviews in some instances. After telling of a detailed, horrific incident a the Denver 'Humane' Society euthanasia center, yelp deleted my review saying it was because I gave a personal account of the situation. I listed facts and wanted to warn others or to prepare or make other arrangements but yelp not only deleted the review but threatened me as well. Yelp is not operating with intergrity and is more like a nazi-type organization that believes in simply eliminating anything they don't like.
Yelp is a horrible company that is…
Yelp is a horrible company that is against hardworking business owners. They rely on negative consumer reviews, especially from those who threaten businesses for free items and other demands. Writing a bad review has become too practical for them. Yelp is the worst social platform; it’s terrible how they support consumers while disregarding the struggles of businesses. People often think those negative reviews reflect the truth.
EVERYHTUNG ABT THEM SUCKS
LONG PHONE WAIT TIMES, NO OPTION FOR CALLBACK, NO ESTIMATE TIME, GIVES FREE CREDIT BUT STILL CHARGES YOUR CARD, UTTER BS, THEY SUCK.

Yelp bully you into advertising with…
Yelp bully you into advertising with them, I did once and it cost a fortune but didn't earn me any new business. They then bombard you with aggressive sales calls to try and get you to buy more and when you don't they hide all your positive reviews. They basically run a scam. Yelp is trash and not reliable for honest business reviews. I only ask my customers for Google Reviews now. We don't even bother with Yelp as our customers are beyond their level.

Ashley Furniture, Edwardsville, IL
I purchased a mattress from Ashley in Nov 2025 and purchased additional mattress guarantee in addition to the 30 day comfort guarantee. About 2 weeks after getting the mattress delivered I found out it was not the right one for me in addition to the sides of the mattress giving out because I sit on the side of the bed allot. I called the store to see about an exchange, they said I had to wait until 30 days was up. I called back 2 weeks later after the 30 days was up and was told they would have to send an inspector out to inspect the mattress to see that it was not performing the way it should. I was told by the salesman that if I wasn't satisfied with the mattress I could buy another mattress and pay the difference for an upgrade if I wasn't satisfied with the mattress, not only if the mattress was failing which it was. That beside the fact the inspector was scheduled for 6 weeks later, which means I still have to deal with the problem. The day of the inspector comes and he doesn't show up. I call the store they reschedule for another 4 weeks, again they don't show up. All this time I tried to call the salesman, who gave me his business card with his number on it. Apparently the number if not answered in 4 rings goes to a different line and you never get to talk to the salesman. I even called the store directly and was never able to speak to the salesman. All I got from this store was the run a round and never an answer. I finally wrote to BBB and they arrange for an exchange of the same exact mattress, of course they did say that I could buy a more expensive mattress. I bought the mattress on sale and received a $1,000 discount. I asked if I would get that discount on the new upgraded mattress, the answer was no, the sale was over. If they would have honored their 30 days guarantee the sale was still going on. At this point I was not going to throw good money after bad at this store. I will never shop Ashley Furniture again. If you want a runaround and never get their guarantee honored shop this store. I still have to purchase another mattress, but it will never be from Ashley Furniture again.
1★ — Yelp quietly buried our reputation.
We gave Yelp every reason to work with us. A complete, polished profile. High-quality photos. Detailed service descriptions. Regular posts. Full case studies documenting our real work for real clients. We responded to every message. We even spent $1,000 on Yelp ads, because we wanted to do things properly.
Then, without warning, Yelp moved two legitimate 5-star reviews into their "Not Recommended" section—effectively hiding them from the public entirely.
These weren't throwaway reviews. They were detailed, genuine testimonials from verified customers. One reviewer posted video footage of the completed job. We built complete case studies around both projects. By any reasonable standard, these were exactly the kind of reviews a consumer platform should want to surface.
But here's where it gets difficult to accept: Yelp's official position is that they didn't remove anything. The reviews are technically still there. They're just hidden from everyone who visits your profile. That distinction—between "hidden" and "deleted"—may protect Yelp legally. In practice, the effect on your business is identical. Your credibility disappears overnight, with no warning and no explanation.
When we reached out to support, we were told it was "the algorithm." No escalation path. No appeals team. No resolution. Just a shrug wrapped in policy language.
Think about what that actually means for small business owners. You can invest months of effort, deliver outstanding work, earn genuine praise from real customers—and a platform's opaque automated system can silently erase that social proof while you're none the wiser. And when you ask why? There's no one there to answer.
Yelp frames this as consumer protection. But hiding authentic feedback from real customers doesn't protect consumers. It misleads them—while simultaneously punishing the businesses that earned those reviews fairly.
To any small business owner reading this: build your reputation on ground that won't shift beneath you. Your own website, your own testimonials, your own channels—places where your work speaks for itself without a third party deciding whether it deserves to be seen. If a platform profits from your ad spend while quietly undermining your credibility, the most rational response is to stop funding it. Redirect that budget somewhere your effort is actually rewarded.
If you absolutely need a third party resource, I'd go with a Google Business Profile and any number of social media platforms before ever considering Yelp.
Frustrating Experience for a Small Business Owner
I currently have almost 100 total customer reviews on Yelp, yet only about 15 are publicly visible. At one point, around 40 reviews were recognized, and my profile was growing naturally. Then, many legitimate reviews were filtered without a clear explanation.
For a small business, having nearly 100 real reviews but showing only a small fraction creates a misleading impression to potential customers. It is extremely discouraging after years of hard work and honest service.
I also invested in Yelp advertising, but the return on investment was poor. Leads were often sent to multiple contractors at the same time, frustrating customers and reducing the value of the opportunity.
Based on my experience with both the review filtering practices and advertising model, I would not invest in Yelp services again.
Yelp is a dishonest website to both…
Yelp is a dishonest website to both business and customers looking for reviews. Yelp harasses businesses to advertise and if they do, honest customers receive an email about a negative review that breaks no guidelines but you are told that it was removed. I posted one about a eatery not following state laws requiring hair coverings while working over the food that I saw first hand. Removed and I see ads from that same business.
If a business decides not to advertise then yelp keeps the negative reviews and moves positive reviews to the bottom under the 'not currently recommend tab that has to be clicked to see them.
NEVER TRUST Yelp reviews, it is all about if the business paid for advertising or not what you see.
I am a member of Fairwinds Credit…
I am a member of Fairwinds Credit Union. I stopped by today to make a deposit. The cashier named Marysol was very kind, courteous, and professional. She was also warm and friendly. I just wanted to share my experience, because in today's hectic world, it is hard to find sincere people with warm hearts. I am a satisfied customer.
Super Frustrating
I am extremely frustrated with how Yelp handles reviews. We have had multiple legitimate 5 star reviews from real customers removed, while at the same time 1 star reviews from individuals we have never done business with remain visible. These were genuine clients who completed projects with us and took the time to share detailed feedback, yet their reviews were filtered without clear explanation.
Meanwhile, negative reviews from people with no verified relationship to our company continue to stay up. That imbalance creates a misleading picture for consumers.
At a minimum, there should be a fair and transparent process that treats positive and negative reviews equally. Right now, it does not feel balanced or objective.
