“Consumer Grievance: Misleading Delivery Timelines & Supply of Expired Products”

This review is submitted as a consumer grievance against Zepto for misrepresentation of service, deficiency in delivery, and unfair trade practice.
On the date of order, the Zepto app displayed a delivery timeline of 17 minutes. The order was shown as “prepared” but was not delivered for over 1.5 hours. This constitutes false and misleading representation, designed to induce payment.
Additionally, Zepto has supplied expired / near-expiry products, raising serious concerns regarding food safety and quality control, which is unacceptable under consumer protection norms.
Despite repeated follow-ups with customer care until 3:00 AM, resolution was delayed. A refund was initiated only after prolonged escalation and is stated to take 5–6 working days, whereas payment collection is instant. This reflects deficiency in service and lack of reasonable redressal mechanisms.
Such practices violate basic principles of consumer rights—right to information, right to safety, and right to timely redressal.
I urge prospective customers to exercise caution and request Zepto to conduct an internal audit of its delivery claims, inventory management, and customer grievance handling.

I got very bad experience with Zepto.

I have order from Zepto for 903.00 INR (prepaid)
My order # MOLIIKIKH86336
There were 12 items. When I received the order, there were only 1 item (195/- INR). So I asked the delivery person where is the rest items. He said those will be coming through another person and only Zepto caffe items he will deliver. So I believed that. After he left I checked the application and all items showing as delivered. So I called the delivery person again and asked him about it. Again he said the same thing. That was not logical, there we no tracking details.
I contacted the customer service and they’re not trying to solve the issue and not ready to reschedule the partial order delivery . Instead of tha they said, they will do the refund. I received a message from the Zepto by telling that I will receive the amount after deducting the delivery fee because the delivery item cost only 195. Which was not my mistake. And after 5-7 working days only I will receive the amount in my account. They said the amount will come to my Zepto valet within an hour. But it didn’t come after 1 hour. So I was not able to utilise it.
Here the time , money , energy, effort all of mine goes invalid. I lost all for this order. Very disappointed with the customer care service, the delivery. over all performance of Zepto is very poor.
I thought Zepto is working on FOFO model. But now understand that Zepto doesn’t have any hold or power on franchises

Bad service after buying a wrong product

I was ordering groceries online with Zepto and brought a universal travel adapter for use of dutch adapters in India. When the rider delivered it I examined the product and discovered it was not suitable for my needs so I wanted to give it back but he said I can't give it back to him but have to make a return ticket online.
When I contacted the service desk about this they told me they won't take it back because I could check the product when it was delivered and now its too late. all online webshops will give a return possibility within 14-30 days . Why not with Zepto?

Got humiliated by zepto delivery person and escalation agent

had horrible experience with order#SKPRHBCNS91442. for two hours I was taken for granted and humiliated first by delivery partner jacob and later by escalation agent anushka who at end of call started defending delivery person's insulting behaviour towards me. zepto wants to take its customers for granted and humiliate them. this was my last order. uninstalling app now. would never to give any business to a company who humiliates and fools their customers. If you have some self respect left in you then never use this app

I worked as a part-time employee at Zepto with rider code BLR132-R1554 from 10th August to 17th August. Initially, they asked for ₹1500 for items like a raincoat and T-shirt, or the option to pay ₹300 weekly. I chose the weekly payment option and paid ₹300 at the start.

In one week, I earned around ₹4100, but later they deducted ₹981 from my payment. When I called customer care support, there was no proper response.

They did not provide me with a T-shirt, raincoat, or bag, so I don’t understand why they deducted this money. I worked hard for that one week. I came to Bangalore without a job, and that’s why I joined Zepto part-time. But till now, customer care has not contacted me, even though I tried many times.

So, this is my experience. I wasted my time, and they also deducted my money. Please be careful before joining Zepto for part-time work.

Yesterday at 11 am i have placed an order of 4 sweetcorn in which instead of sweetcorn they delivered me baby sweetcorn and another one i have placed order on 8:37 of 2kgs mosambi in which I have received totally damage and rotten mosambi when I report issue they are saying ur account is in under suspicious activity we can't proceed ur request what's the logic i mean u have delivered damage and rotten items and ur saying that ur account is in under suspicious activity iam going to file and complaint soon all ready I have file my complaint to my state food safety department and it's commissioner soon I will file and offline complaint and i will in consumer court also in fssai also it's almost 35 hours completed didn't receive any refund and i have gmail them for more than 47 times this is how zepto is treating to their account

Absolutely terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience – avoid at all costs!

I’ve ordered multiple times and almost every time I received damaged, poor-quality, or completely unusable products. It feels like they have zero quality checks in place. What’s worse is the refund process – it's slow, frustrating, and often leads to nothing. You keep contacting them, and they either ignore you or give generic replies without actually solving the issue.

This isn’t just a one-time problem. It’s a pattern, and I truly regret trusting them again and again. No customer deserves to go through this kind of experience.

I'm writing this review to warn others – please don’t waste your money or time. Look elsewhere for reliable service and better customer support.

You deserve better than this.

I ordered milk from Zepto around 2 AM, and right after receiving it, I started making tea. To my shock, the milk curdled immediately — it was completely spoiled! This is not the first time either.

Honestly, there’s barely a day when I don’t have to complain about expired or stale products — whether it’s spoiled milk, rotten vegetables, or expired groceries. How is this even acceptable?

Zepto seriously needs to improve its quality control. Fast delivery means nothing if you're delivering things that belong in the trash. I’m extremely disappointed and would not recommend this service to anyone until they fix this.
