We decided to go from an open fire to an electric stove, we visited the Colchester showroom and the help & advice given to us by Sean was so helpful & the time he spent with us sold it to my wife. We booked a free home survey and the guy Mathew came when he said and sent the estimate quickly which gave us reassurance. We were booked in and I knocked the old fireplace out before the day of our installation. The two guys who turned up to do the work Isaac & Ryan were very good at what they do. The standard of the work they carried out was superb, they were tidy and cleaned up well before leaving. The making good & plastering by Isaac was excellent. The installers are a asset to the company, I would not hesitate to recommend Zigis to anyone contemplating having any work carried out on their fireplace.

Our log burner was fitted 12/05/2025 by Terry and Carol and they did a very professional clean and tidy job.They were very friendly and helpful and when they had finished you couldn't see where they had been.We are very pleased with the log burner and service from Ziggis.

In selling us a £5+ Gazco 'hole in wall' type gas fire, no mention at sales, survey or point of purchase stage that because it would have to be installed on an internal chimney fireplace (ie no balanced flue possible), and because we went for the slightly wider Studio model in the end, the back of the gas fire would have an inaccessible 6" open vent from the chimney, and also a 4" square external wall vent elsewhere in the room both of which let in a lot of cold air. Result - we've gone from a tranquil, warm lounge to one with the noise of rain, wind, birds, traffic, the neighbour's BBQs. And the combo of both vents, which you can't close, is like having a window open all the time. Rather defeats the object of having a gas fire! But Ziggis Sawston have my money now and don't care. As the showroom salesperson said 'if we pointed out such downsides we wouldn't sell any fires'.
