Small chicken leg; requested bacon on caesar salad, got none; no celery in caesar cocktail, had no celery in restaurant; got charged $0.99 for an extra chalet sauce even though their website says no charge for this; received no credit for "scene" in restaurant points even though we gave the card to the waitress; no water was offered and we got only one glass for two of us when we asked; slow food service; their bathrooms were absolutely filthy. I recently placed a cake order on Zomato for delivery to my friend in Bahadurgarh, while I was located in Gurugram. I ensured that the delivery address was correctly entered in the app. While the order was still at the restaurant, I reached out to the support team to resolve a query. However, during the conversation, my order was cancelled without my consent, and I was denied a refund of approximately ₹450.
I find it unacceptable that an order can be cancelled without the customer's approval. Despite multiple requests for a callback, the support team continued to respond with repetitive, copy-pasted messages and did not address my concern properly.
I am requesting a full refund for the cancelled order. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will escalate the matter publicly via Twitter, LinkedIn, and even reach out to the CEO of Zomato.

I had a terrible experience with my recent order. The app showed it as delivered even though I never received it. After contacting support and waiting almost an hour, the food finally came.
When asked, the delivery person said he was waiting somewhere else and then went back. His excuse was “no network,” but he didn’t even try to send a text. This shows complete carelessness and lack of professionalism.
This was supposed to be a family treat, and the false “delivered” status plus the huge delay completely ruined the experience. I expect better from Zomato. Please fix this issue and hold delivery partners accountable — customers don’t deserve this level of service.

This used to be a good app and reliable, but when things go wrong and is fraudulent, then you will not get the money back or any proper customer service. This is very concerning that they don't care and have even escalated to their complaints team who don't care. I would advise traveller from outside of India to be careful and use a better company than this. Note I am still waiting for their 'so called customer services' to handle this correctly, which seems they will not.

I got bad experience of zomato. As i ordered food but I didn't get my order. After check with restaurant it's confirmed that it was picked up within 15 minutes even the navigation path shows it reached to my doorstep. But I didn't get my order. Even there is no proper support to help you it's only AI generated support even delivery partner didn't pick up my phone. Shall I wait till next day to get my order. After requesting for refund AI generated support answered that my total order amount will consider as cancellation fees. It means i didn't get food and refund of money. Such a irresponsible behaviour. I really get upset for such inappropriate behaviour . Unsatisfactory sevice.
Company with record profits cannot afford customer service
This company needs to be rated zero for its audacity alone. As a long time gold membership customer, top 1% consumers of platform (confirmed by their yearly metric they provide customers on their usage) and a shareholder of zomato who recently offloaded my stock because I no longer have confidence in this company’s long term future, I have to say zomato is taking way too many wrong steps lately.
You are charging people from premium service, but then you offload your entire customer service and there is absolutely no way to talk to a human. All you get is an AI bot that doesn’t understand 90% of queries and refuses to connect to an agent because there isn’t one.
Of all the companies pushing this AI nonsense, zomato has most obvious and most brutal gatekeeping because it provides customer NO option at all except to keep fighting with a bot that doesnt understand humans and parrots same pre-fed responses. I think not having any humans at all in customer care should become illegal. Companies shouldn’t be allowed to get so big without having a stringent process in place to provide customers recourse in case of grievances and service failure. We need better consumer protection.
Swiggy stands completely at stark with zomato on this. Not only their customer service for Swiggy BLCK is operated by humans, it’s extremely swift and to the point in resolving queries. In fact I don’t know of any e-commerce except zomato that deploys AI bots in a way that completely eliminates the option of consumer reaching out to an agent. That’s a big no in my book and sure shot way I will stop supporting the business.
Companies aren’t still catching on these AI bots are largely frustrating to customers and do not elevate our experience of the company. If your business depends on getting money from us, you need to understand we are your customers, not just your shareholders and CEOs for whom you are booking record profits by actively sabotaging user experience and customer service. If our experience of using your service is too frustrating, we will just take our money elsewhere, simple.
As it stands now, there is no point in getting Zomato over swiggy. Swiggy provides all of the same offers and rates as well as instacart which on average is more cost effective than blinkit, and it provides good customer service on top of it. Whereas zomato is a fully automated money making machine that puts zero emphasis on customer experience. Zomato has literally become the Facebook of food ordering apps, it doesn’t care how you feel about UI, it doesn’t care how you feel about service, it just keeps implementing things it likes while simultaneously ignoring all customer feedback.
Then the only way to vote is through wallet. I highly recommend boycotting zomato until they bring back a proper customer service and become more resolution focused. Until then, every order is a monetary risk, because when something goes wrong, you can’t talk to anyone and there is no recourse. So please do not support businesses like this that will prioritise profit not only above ethics but also above treating their customers well, their main revenue generators.
Wrong Order, No Accountability – Zomato Failed Me Completely
Ordered pure veg food from LunchBox on a fasting day — received non-veg chicken from a completely different restaurant (FreshMenu). Not only was this a serious violation of my religious beliefs, but Zomato also failed to acknowledge the issue properly.
Their customer service is a joke — just automated replies, no real human to talk to, and a response time so slow that by the time they asked for more photos, the food was already thrown away.
Despite sharing proof and clearly explaining the issue multiple times, all they offered was a ₹270 promo code. No apology, no real accountability, no refund.
Zomato didn’t just mess up an order — they ignored a serious complaint and disrespected the customer. Will never trust them again.

Over the years, I’ve relied on food delivery platforms to save time and enjoy convenience. However, my recent experience with Zomato was not just disappointing — it was deeply concerning and revealed systemic issues that every consumer should be aware of.
✅ The Incident:
I placed an order via Zomato (Order ID: 7088877010) from Taste of Tandoor. The delivery executive never arrived at my location. I was the one calling him repeatedly. He assured me he was on his way — until he simply stopped answering.
To my surprise and shock, the order was later marked "Delivered", though no delivery was made, no refund issued, and no accountability shown.
❌ Zomato's Response:
Their response was a generic, dismissive email claiming that I didn’t respond to calls and that the food was returned to the restaurant. I personally verified with the restaurant — no food was returned. This was a fabricated excuse.
🔍 The Bigger Picture:
I took the time to investigate and was disturbed to find thousands of similar complaints online from customers across India — from fake deliveries to refusal of refunds and copy-paste responses. This is not an isolated event. It reflects a disturbing pattern.
🚫 My Decision:
I have since deleted the Zomato app permanently and have moved to Swiggy, where customer support and transparency still seem to matter.
🛑 If you value your hard-earned money and time, be cautious before trusting Zomato. Businesses cannot be built on broken promises and blatant denial of responsibility.
Let’s hold companies accountable. Consumers deserve better.

Whenever we order food in it, the condition for your cancellation is that you will not be given a refund, then why have you given the cancellation button, why are you doing this nonsense.Whenever you keep this condition, why do you keep that thing in the backend, why don't you keep it somewhere in the infant when cancelling, how much do you give to people to eat, have you ever given anything in life. You guys are the most stupid that create this condition, Once a customer cancels his order, he will never come to you again in life, you are so stupid and idiot man.
Extremely disappointed
Zomato cancelled our order without any valid reason, but still deducted the full amount. Initially, we were told the refund would be processed within 2 hours. After we followed up through chat, suddenly the story changed – now it would take 5 to 7 business days.
This is nothing short of a scam. Zomato is clearly using these tactics to hold on to customer money and earn interest while we are left chasing them. Worst part – there’s no way to speak to a real person or call customer support. You’re just stuck in a loop with their useless chat system.
It is absolutely unacceptable and dishonest. Will not be using Zomato again and strongly advise others to be cautious.
