Overall good experience, good bed and shower. Good location, nearby subway station Bullewijk. Unfortunately could not check in earlier.. the two men working at the reception were very kind and helpful. Would prefer bigger sleeping pillows and the air system was too loud for me, but that’s something personal.

Ok for the short holiday I had
It was okay for the holiday I had, room size good for the corner room, helpfull staff, however hotel’s policy to pay for an early check in sounds ridiculous when the room was actually available but not willing to provide this service (been to other hotels in AMS where they do allow you to enter already), eventually did pay to get in earlier with 1,5 hours to go but ending up paying for 2 hours, room feel a bit dated with the carpet and old/stained curtains

Excellent hotel for excellent value
Great hotel with excellent transport links into the heart of Amsterdam. Our room was spacious and comfortable with the added bonus of air conditioning. There are a couple of restaurants and a lidl supermarket within walking distance. There is a tram stop directly outside of the hotel, it takes around 15 minutes to get into Amsterdam central via Sloterdijk or if you go the other way it takes around 20 minutes to get directly outside if the Rijksmuseum. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We had a great family stay at XO Hotels Park West!
* Location & Transport: While the hotel isn't directly in the city center, getting around couldn't be easier. The tram stop is right outside the front entrance, making trips into central Amsterdam fast and hassle-free.
* Rooms: Traveling as a family of 4, room size can often be a challenge, but our room here was very spacious, comfortable, and well-designed.
* Cleanliness & Service: Overall, cleanliness was solid. On one occasion, our room was missed during routine cleaning, but as soon as we notified the front desk, the staff responded quickly and took care of it right away.
* Outstanding Staff: The staff really went above and beyond for us. When our late-night Bolt driver failed to show up for an early morning airport run, the receptionist immediately stepped in and arranged a reliable ride for us on the spot. That kind of responsiveness in the middle of the night made a huge difference!
Would definitely recommend XO Hotels Park West to families looking for spacious accommodations and reliable service with easy access to the city.

Hotel Van Gogh was WONDERFUL. The people were helpful and friendly, they helped with directions and acquiring taxis. Compared to a later experience I had at another hotel in Inverness Scotland, Hotel Van Gogh went above and beyond to provide service. Perfect for a weekend-getaway!
We booked the hotel for a weekend-getaway and it fulfilled all our wishes to the best!
Location:
The hotel is in the Sloterdijk district, which is not in downtown, but with good public transport which takes you to Centraal in around 20 minutes. Also you can visit any other district within a short amount of time with busses and trams.
Close by the hotel there are different restaurants and cafés where you can lounge a bit if you are not really feeling going to Centraal that day. Not even five minutes away is a shopping centre with some supermarkets where you can find anything you want; and if they are closed at night, you can get some refreshments and snacks from the vending machines in the Lobby!
Also close to the Hotel is a market everyday which helps you making you feel as you are in a "local" area in Amsterdam and not really the "touristy" area.
Room:
During the booking process we were a bit unsure whether to book the Blue Square or the other branches from XO Hotels. At the end we chose this one as we got more space in the room in a similar area.
The room itself was completely sufficient for two people; some could even say big enough for the amount of people there. The cleaning service was very polite and they take their job very seriously.
The bathroom was very clean and we were very happy with the rainshower.
Also the mini station with tea and coffee was very helpful throughout the day!
For the price range there is nothing to complain about, as we got a good hotel in an area where you can visit the whole city of Amsterdam in a short amount of time + it was rather quiet in the evenings/nights, which is something very pleasant in a busy city like Amsterdam.
Staff:
Right at the Check-In process the staff was very helpful with different questions we had about the hotel and the city itself. They gave us some good recommendations what to do and where to go when we weren't sure about it. Because of them, we found some nice cool niche areas in Amsterdam we wouldn't had found otherwise! Shoutout to Apostolos, who helped a fellow Greek find some good spots in Amsterdam!
Also the baggage room service was very helpful as our return was a bit later than the Check-Out times and with our bags off our backs we could enjoy the last day in Amsterdam way better!
All in all it was a very pleasant stay for the short amount of time (Fri-Mon) as we got a wonderful room within a quiet district in Amsterdam where the public transport helped us getting to different areas quickly and the staff was very friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay.

Location location location
I recently stayed at XO Hotel City Center and unfortunately found that the overall experience didn’t meet expectations, despite a couple of positives.
The best part of the hotel is its excellent location — just a few blocks from the central train station and within easy walking distance to everything in central Amsterdam. The bed was also comfortable, which made the nights restful.
However, nearly every other aspect of the stay was disappointing:
Check-in was poorly coordinated. I arrived early and was told the staff would notify me once my room was ready, but no one ever followed up. Throughout my stay, customer service felt inattentive and unhelpful.
The room was not properly cleaned upon arrival. There was mold in the shower, the shower hose was rusty, and contact lenses were stuck to the bathroom wall. Bedding was stained — sheets, duvet, and pillowcases — and housekeeping repeatedly rehung dirty towels instead of replacing them. I had to ask multiple times for fresh bedding, and even then only the sheets were changed. Basic supplies like toilet paper and soap also had to be requested multiple times at the front desk.
The room itself was extremely small. The hallway floors creaked loudly, and the carpets throughout the hotel were stained and had an unpleasant smell. The bathroom mirror light didn’t work, and staff couldn’t locate anyone to replace the bulb before I checked out several days later.
The hotel WiFi was very weak, frequently dropped, and often showed error messages about channel conflicts. This made it unreliable for even simple use. Breakfast was also very basic, with powdered eggs, breakfast meats, cold cuts, and fruit — not particularly appealing for the price.
The hotel’s website lists American Express as an accepted payment method, but their payment system would not accept my Amex card, which was frustrating and misleading.
Overall, while the location and bed were definite positives, the combination of cleanliness issues, poor maintenance, weak WiFi, subpar breakfast, and lackluster customer service made this stay far below expectations. I hope the hotel addresses these issues for future guests.

Everything positive!
We stayed there and everything was fine.
The location is a high point: very close to museumplein (nice green area) and also walkable untill the city center, and at the same time quiet, beautiful residential neighborhood, not inside the noisy crowded center.
There are some restaurants nearby, so u have it all there.
Room and bathroom very clean, helpful staff and the price was decent.
I do recommend!!

Old mold rooms
The staff was great. While the room appeared clean, it had an extremely weird smell. The shower was moldy, and dirty. I ended up checking out a couple of days early and booked a room somewhere else.

The hotel is for me basic. Some remarks: parking is appr. 60% more expensive compared with other hotels in the neighborhood, only have the staff made me feel to have a conversation with, the breakfast is a nice variety but the scrambled eggs and the coffee are simply bad-tasting, the door of my shower was not closing with a wet bathroom as consequence (I assume the one next door as well as the carpet under the desk was completely wet 😱. But the bed was comfortable and I had a clean room close to where I needed to be.

Nice hotel close to train station
Really nice hotel close to the train station. The room was everything we needed and the shower was great but we stayed 3 nights and never had our dirty towels taken away I had to go down to reception to ask for clean towels, also little things like the coffee pods not being replaced it appears housekeeping just come into the room to make the bed.

Overall weak
Not perfect.
The level of cleanliness is "enough" but not flawless. Room ammenities (furniture, apllicances, overall state etc) were weak and outdated.
Hotel staff is kind'a unfriendly/careless. Room cleaning service did not happen for 2 days in a row although we have requested for it.
Poor experience for a 4 star hotel.

The room was very dirty, bad breakfast
The room was very dirty, especially, the inside window still; there were chocolate wrappers under the beds. The shower floor became very slippery when wet. The TV remote control didn’t work; the problem was only solved on the second day-and after a second complain. It was necessary to replace two bateries. There was a cigarette burn on the bedsheet. Breakfast was poor, with significant restocking (juice and fruit). An asian member was unfriendly and unhelful. On a very positive note, the reception staff were friendly and helpful
