I should have read the reviews before purchasing, rather than assuming that a big name in the extractor fan industry produced decent quality fans. The fan I am reviewing is a 150mm fan from the Xpelai... See more

Have been using Xpelair bathroom fans a…

Have been using Xpelair bathroom fans a lot on residential projects: ALL of them failed. Their 100T in Line fan kits all failed within a few days of use. Their ceiling mounted units with built-in LED lights have problems with the lights flickering. 90% of all their stuff used had to be replaced within a few days of use. Technical services don’t admit to problems and give no support even if major retailers admit to having to return most of their products. Xpelair are a name to avoid.

Xpelair VX100T bathroom extractor fan

Bought a bathroom extractor fan. VX100T. Timer did not work. Emailed the technical department of Expelair and 2 weeks later still no response. While the fan works fine, after sales service seems non-existent. Won't be buying Expelair fans in the future.

No customer service

No customer service. Will not answer the phone just put you on hold and do not reply to emails. No point having a warranty!

Best Service I have got in my life.

Best Service I have got in my life.

I don't know why so much lowest rating for this the best Organisation I ever got reasons are below.

1) I have called them for the fault in the product.
2) They just sent me a new product without asking me a bill or anything.
3) Just 10 mins call they asked me my address and Number and they sent me brand new product straight away.
4) It will be here next Monday very excited to get it.

Expel Air LV100T: Electric City Kenton Road, Harrow HA3 8BL

Expel Air LV100T - worst product ever. Packed up 3 days after purchase - blades catching on barrel. Retailer refused to replace.

Avoid Electric City 162-170 Kenton Rd, Harrow HA3 8BL. at all costs - you will pay over the odds and when you have a genuine problem, Electric City HA3 8BL will shaft you and not give a replacement. Then they will go into technical acrobatics to fob you off.

Rubbish fan, rubbish company.

Bought an Xpelair C6S extractor fan with 'Ghost Air Movement Technology' that enables quiet running, ha, it sounds like a tornado the next door neighbour complains about it. After 18 months the backdraft damper fitted to the fan (which bangs annoyingly in the wind) broke. I took the fan out and a small delicate steel spring that holds the two half round flaps closed had snapped, what a pathetic design, it had rusted (well it would wouldn't it, it's extracting steam from the bathroom!) it had obviously rusted solid and the flap movement had snapped the leg off the little spring. With it still being in warranty (2yrs) I rang them a few times and eventually they said they'd send a new damper. When I got it I thought the same thing is going to happen so I rang up again and they said there was nothing they could do about the spring rusting and to stop the banging they suggested I buy a cowl with a built in damper for the outside. I did this and now I had two of them banging when it was windy, it sounded like a drum roll so I did away with their rubbishy one and fitted sponge draft excluder to the new one whitch deadened the noise. To add insult to injury when I got my phone bill I paid £20 for the calls about their faulty product that was in warranty! AVOID!

UNBELIEVEABLY POOR SERVICE FROM TOB INTERNATIONAL LTD WITH XPELAIR

If you buy an Xpelair product and have a problem - don't expect any help from this manufacturer. When my fan failed to work properly after less than one year (guarantee was for 3 years) the supplier simply told me to contact Xpelair. I did so, but they clearly weren't interested in any way. After numerous let-downs, failures to return calls and promised service visits I went back to the supplier. This supplier proved useless in resolving the problem for although they apparently contacted Xpelair on my behalf, nothing changed not one iota! After more than a month the supplier's only offer to avoid me having no humidity control at home was to charge me another £100+ for a new unit then take the old one back and refund me. This would have left me liable to damaging, unprotected new woodwork due to high levels of humidity that I would have had no way to control. Eventually I demanded the old unit be taken back for a refund - having by then purchased another fan unit from somebody else. Even the refund took several weeks - overall 8 weeks to get resolved but Xpelair were supposed to provide direct warranty support. They did absolutely nothing to help me so BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN CONSIDERING A PURCHASE OF XPELAIR IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO HAVE THE HASSLE I'VE EXPERIENCED. AVOID.

Don't buy their stuff

I bought a € 200 ($266) low-voltage exhaust fan (ventilator) with low-voltage adapter / timer for my bathroom about 7 years ago. $266 for a bathroom ventilator is rather expensive, but I valued the quality of the one I had before.

Two years ago the thing started to make more and more noise and half a year ago the engine / fan part broke down. No bigggie; these things can't last forever. So I contacted Xpelair for a replacement part but they suggested I buy the entire package again, just to get a fan engine which should cost no more than €40 / $50. Which would leave me with a worthless $200 adapter. They do offert replacement housing / covers and fan blades for the ventilator though but not the only moving part which obviously breaks and provide no service.

I suggest finding another manufacturer if you value service and value for money.
