Good service and goods described correctly. Very satisfied

Overpriced with pushy staff.

My first experience with them was when I was looking to get a camera serviced. They quoted me £80+parts over the phone, I then contacted a different servicer (ppp cameras in Surrey) who quoted half that. My second experience was buying film, their prices for which are inflated beyond anywhere else I’ve seen, £8.99 for 36exp HP5+ Compared to Beverly camera centre (£7) and Hilton’s photographic in hull (£7 again). While I was looking at film the staff kept asking if I was going to buy anything without giving me any real time to decide. All it takes is a look through their window to see that their pricing is somewhat unfair (a fairly late model Pentax K1000 with 50mm for £200+ For example) I strongly recommend you do your research before buying anything from this shop.

I love coming to this shop. All the staff are very helpful and love the service. My purse is feeling it but hey....could do with a bit of training on the new camera when collected. Thank you :)

Brilliant service from York Camera Mart Ltd. Would definitely recommend.

I had this camera on order with another supplier since early June. Due to last year's fire at the Japanese microprocessor plant and the international logistics problems, there was no stock to be found anywhere. This is a problem throughout the industry and it's hard to find stock of many popular models. Even the UK site of the manufacturers didn't show stock.
York Camera Mart showed the camera on their website so I emailed them to check they had it in stock. They replied immediately, I ordered it and it was with me within four days. It was securely packed against knocks and works well.

Fast efficient service with an online order, many thans, used item in exactly condition described, all good thanks.

Simply brilliant. Just bought a Lumix S1R, not only did they give me a brilliant price on the new camera, they gave me an excellent and fair price on my old Canon. Really friendly chaps, who were nothing short of welcoming and helpful. Well and truly deserve the business. Will be back!

Fantastic Shop, Lee and colleague where so helpful, informative and friendly. All our questions got answered (and we did have a few....) and we felt at ease. After discussing a camera we walked away to think on it and there was no hard sell. Subsequently that made us feel happy to go back and purchase the camera so well done and thanks. A big thumbs up and can highly recommend this shop if you want a no nonsense, straight honest experience...... Keep up the good work....

When arriving at the shop, the camera was inside the main window with a bespoke printed card in front of it. The shop owner had also pre-charged the camera so she could get out and test it out straight away down The Shambles, once we were given a quick run-through of all the Canon D2000 IS features.

The shop owner gave us a great deal in store on an SD card, Camera bag & through in a camera cover mini strap(amazing invention).

All in all, a great priced Canon camera, from a great independent shop. If you want top-quality advice & service, always go to an independent like York Camera Mart.

Have dealt with this shop on an occasional basis for years even though I'm a couple of hundred miles away. Yes, the post helps, but it is still good to visit every so often. Always prompt helpful service. Part exchange very fair. Happy to recommend.

Promptly dealt with a worry due to the website not working properly regarding my account and an order. Very helpful with reasonable prices. Would highly recommend them. Just put 4 due to the website problem. Otherwise I think they’re great and would definitely buy from them again.

Popped into York Camera Mart to see if they bought used cameras and was told no but they could sell it for me on commission. They suggested what I thought was a very fair price for my camera and a separate lens and lo and behold 4 weeks later I received a cheque in the post for nearly £300. Much more than if I had tried to sell it privately!!
