Just back from a great 2 night trip to the Peak District in Freya. The booking experience was very easy and the team at York Campervans could not have been more helpful before, when we picked Freya up or at drop off. The van herself is very well equipped, very comfortable and so easy to drive. I hope we will be back soon. Highly recommended.

After spending well over a year researching the best way to get a Campervan, we decided to use York Campervans for a variety of reasons which I will outline below, but overall we highly recommend them.
We popped in one day to discuss our options with Dave and Chloe who own the company. We quickly realised their conversions were much better quality than many other places we’d checked out, plus they were a lot closer to us so after checking things out fully, we booked a slot to get a van converted.
The whole process took around 6 months from October to April and they helped us source the ideal van as well. It was lovely choosing exactly what we wanted and I’d say that although it’s not cheap, you’re paying for quality and they are definitely not the most expensive out there, but based on our extensive research the cheaper ones were poorer quality so long term, not as good. Overall we found their prices to be very reasonable for the quality you get, plus the service was spot on. Dave and Chloe were really accommodating, going out of their way to squeeze us in to suit our availability and always happy to chat through our options and make suggestions. Our finish date was also kept to, which was important to us, especially as it’s a very exciting moment waiting for the end result.
We met most of the team along the journey converting our van into ‘Penelope’ and they were all very friendly and helpful.
We’ve had ‘Penelope’ almost 3 months now and we’ve had to return to tweak a few minor things and have been impressed with the way any niggles have been resolved. Nothing major though, so don’t worry, but this shows the aftercare is spot on as you get a 2 year warranty, if required.
I’ll try and attach a few photos (if allowed) to show the end result and it’s fair to say we are very happy with it. She’s an absolute stunner and everything we’ve ever wanted in a van.

We had solar panels fitted to our VW camper by York Campervans, they were super friendly and helpful. They looked at the van and gave us advice on what was needed and quoted quickly. The work was done quickly and to a really nice standard, we are really pleased.

We hired ‘Loki’ the newly converted VW campervan for the Bank Holiday weekend and honestly had the best time. We took it up to Scotland with our dog to do the SWC300 route and absolutely loved every minute of it. The camper was beautifully presented, really well equipped and had everything we needed for a comfortable trip. It was easy to drive, super cosy in the evenings and made the whole adventure feel really special.
The whole hire process was smooth from start to finish and the team were great to deal with.
Couldn’t have asked for a better trip and we’re already talking about booking again. Highly recommend!

This was our first time using a campervan and we thoroughly enjoyed our time away in Loki!
The van was so well equipped and beautifully presented. We had everything we needed from the fridge to the gas stove to the electric from the solar panels. The storage at the back of the van and inside was excellent and the beds were very comfortable. We felt very privileged to be able to drive this away for the weekend! Communication with York Campervans was excellent from start to finish and we had a very comprehensive run through at pick up. We would not hesitate in hiring again and we are already working out dates! We didn’t want to give Loki back it was a very special trip. Thank you.

We were honoured to be the first to take out the newly converted Loki. We had a fantasic time travelling the east coast and the experiance was better than we expected. The friendly and professional service from the full team made it a very easy experience.

Excellent service , fitted autoterm diesel heater in sprinter .heater boxed under van , pipe into fuel tank so no fuel in van , intake drivers side footwear and hot air pipe under seat back of van and that's all you can see .
Should of been first thing I had fitted . Deffo recommende.

We had a diesel heater fitted in our VW Transporter and the whole experience was excellent from start to finish. The team were professional, friendly, and clearly very knowledgeable, which gave us real confidence in the work being carried out. The installation was completed to a high standard. We’ll definitely be returning with more jobs in the near future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to other van owners.

I honestly couldn’t recommend York Campervans highly enough. From the first enquiry right through to handover, the whole experience was smooth, professional, and genuinely enjoyable.

The quality of the workmanship in the vans is exceptional, every detail has clearly been thought through, and the finish is spot on. You can tell these guys really care about what they do and take pride in building campervans properly, not cutting corners.
