Yoti should just burn atp

Ok so basically Yoti is absolutely useless and the ai that they use to reply to reviews is dumb as rocks. I’ve been trying for about 5 months to verify my age on my Xbox so I can use social features but it NEVER works. So obviously I come on here to tell these people that their service is horrible and guess what I get an ai response telling me that the Xbox qr code doesn’t work and to “scan the Xbox qr code and follow the steps on the browser”…………….EXCUSE ME??? YOU JUST SAID IT DOESNT WORK????? I JUST WANT TO USE MY DAMN SOCIAL SERVICES GET YOUR SHI TOGETHER. AND GUESS WHAT, THE QR CODE SCANNER IN THE ACTUAL APP DOESNT EVEN WORK FOR THE XBOX QR CODE HAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH YOU PEOPLE ARE SO USELESS OH MY GOD

I absolutely hate this company and will…

I absolutely hate this company and will NEVER recommend. You can never speak to a person and the webchat in India is actually useless. They reply to you like oh have you tried going on the Yoti app? Obviously that's what I just said and it's not working. Lost my card they wouldn't even get me back in the app made me pay another 30.00 for a new card. Absolutely hate this company with a passion. Rubbish.

- Costs: Yoti is completely free for individuals. We do not issue bank or credit cards and we do not charge users £30.00 fees. That charge likely came from the specific organisation asking you to use our service.

- Support: While our initial webchat uses AI to help with common fixes, our email support is handled entirely by human agents who review cases one-by-one.

- Location: We do have two main HQs: The UK and India. Both work directly on resolving technical hurdles with the app and all of our other Yoti products.

You didn't help me I was told to do the…

You didn't help me I was told to do the same thing I was doing and then the issue was closed without me trying again.....issue still not resolved absolutely pointless

Shocking doesn't cover it.

Yeah same as others, diabolical.

Most of the stuff doesn't work properly and there's no way around it. Messages before you start say "we keep none of your data" and then you get through the process, it rejects you and goes "haha fooled you, we might keep your stuff for 30 days".

The whole safety act is nonsense and isn't helped when you have to give your data and ID to a random company who are quite obviously there just to farm data.

I see they reply to quite a few messages and tell people to head to support. Don't bother. They give you passive aggressive and vague answers and also ask you one question at a time so if they need 5 bits of information thats 5 replies, at usually a day per reply.

They'll then just advise you to "try another method" AKA send us more of your data, which will then just not work. Eventually after a week of back and forth they just told me to contact the company who are paying Yoti to provide the service to "get around" it.

Wow. Bad. Very bad.

- Data Privacy: We are not a data-farming company and never sell information. Data is only held temporarily (typically for 7–30 days) to allow for troubleshooting or manual appeals if a verification fails. After this period, it is permanently deleted.

- Support: We hear you on the "one question at a time" frustration. That back-and-forth is not the standard we aim for, and I’m sharing your feedback with our team to streamline how we request info. And we're currently working on adopting tools that will help with this in the near future.

- Referrals: When we suggest contacting the company you’re trying to access, it’s because they have the authority to offer manual alternatives when automated systems hit a wall.

Referred to this company to provide proof of Id for work. Checked the recommendations through their own link which states birth certificate, proof of address and national insurance number are fine. They just want passport details and pic. Refuse anything else except a shame code. Messaged online saying I didn’t have a passport and told not to worry if you’ve destroyed your documents the government will give you a sharecode. I have been a uk citizen since birth

Because digital identity checks must meet different government security standards to face-to-face verifications, certain documents like birth certificates often cannot be used online and require a physical, in-person check instead. Our team only suggests using GOV.UK to obtain a share code as a digital alternative for those without a biometric passport; we apologise if this advice felt dismissive of your status as a UK citizen.

Really bad experiance

Really bad experiance, the face scan doest verify my age, i only have debit cards and they dont support lithuanian numbers, so what i need to upload my passport? And when i do that it takes forewer to process the foto. Really bad experiance and horrible processing time.

Our facial tool requires a high degree of certainty to verify age automatically. When it can’t, the "fallback" options—like ID or Credit Card—are determined by the specific site or service you are trying to access.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service, I had to attempt to use this for work when I tried to create a account apparently I either had one or my ID had been used doesn't say which one and instead of letting me try to recover this account. You have to book a call with their team seems fair enough, but trying to book a call? impossible you get a generic email let me know availability for x date, you email them the next day they say oh now its full booked, give us a time for z date and it happens again and again and again

You guys and the British government are…

You guys and the British government are in danger of being sued shortly. I am 54 years old and cant have the open privacy rules on my xbox because your stupid face scanner wont work and errors "Something went wrong".....I now cannot use my xbox as it was designed to be used because you wont allow me to by age verification that wont work. You are helping to break our laws on buying an xbox and false advertising. Your in trouble.

The "Something went wrong" error usually happens because this process is not designed to be completed within the Yoti app. To fix this, please follow these steps:

1. Open your phone’s standard camera app to scan the Xbox QR code.
2. Tap the link that appears and open it in your mobile web browser.
3. Complete the verification steps directly within your browser.

This should allow the age verification to sync correctly with your account

Tried multiple times to verify via my phone, rang my phone company and my internet provider, they said no problem thier end.
If yoti cant verify phones then why bother giving us the option. Honestly you are terrible company.

I am very sorry to hear you’ve had such a difficult time getting your phone number verified.

While the service is active, these delays are often caused by a "handshake" issue between the network and our SMS provider. To help bypass this, please could you try the following:

- Restart your device: This can often refresh your connection to the SMS gateway.
- Check for "Spam" folders: Some modern smartphones automatically filter verification texts into a hidden spam or "blocked" folder.
- WiFi vs. Mobile Data: If you are on WiFi, try switching to mobile data (or vice versa) to see if a different connection helps the code come through.

If you are still not receiving the code after these steps, please do let us know so we can look into this further for you. As we also have limits/blocks put from our place to avoid too many messages to be sent to the same nunber in a short period of time.

All I want to do is play Minecraft

All I want to do is play Minecraft. I have tried to confirm my age multiple times. However 'Yoti' is determined to make my life harder. I have tried each and every form of verification; Passport, Drivers Licence, Face scan, my mobile number, etc. Each and every time it has rejected me (And it had been a significant number of time). I do agree with the new age verification law but if there was a single competent or intelligent person in charge they would have put a systen in place that actually works. Before you ask, no, it is not a user issue, it is not a problem with the internet and it is not a problem with 'my identity'. I have even tried to use my partners ID and number as a last ditch effort, I am sure you can guess what the outcome was. I hate leaving angry, rants as reviews but this is unfortunately one of those occasions where I am fed up.

The most common reason for this error with Xbox/Minecraft is the scanning method. If you use the scanner inside the Yoti app, it will fail.

To fix this, please:

1. Close the Yoti app.
2. Use your phone’s standard camera app to scan the QR code.
3. Open the link that appears in your mobile web browser.

This should allow the verification to sync correctly. We also recommend only using your own ID, as using a partner's details can trigger further security flags.

Lengthy support process

Sat on a video call to unblock my account and nobody from yoti support showed up for 30 minutes. Had to reschedule another video call which when the support team answered were useful. Would have been very helpful if there is a contact phone number for support instead of raising a ticket and waiting upwards to a day to hear back.

Awful face recognition, delays application processes, it's an automated face scan just buy the necessary software to make it work, deliveroo never have this problem so I suggest you go and buy the software they use
