Succinct, engaging and entertaining!

As a 40 something ex furniture designer wanting a career change, I was both curious and sceptical in equal measure when I had the good fortune to meet and have a session with Michael from youandi. I have to say that I'm glad I did, although I didn't expect to take so many notes. However it was well worth it!

Within minutes of meeting Michael you can tell instantly that he knows what he's talking about. There's no BS here and he is extremely focused in his approach and his information delivery method is right on the mark. Michael distils and imparts 25+ years of real-world industry knowledge and personal experiences in a succinct, engaging and entertaining way.

Once finished you walk away with a smile on your face having been shown how the experts use the tools of the trade and the know-how to succeed in UI/UX design. I guess the only decision to make is when to book yourself on the course.

A must for any digital Product Manager !

I'm Product through and through and no matter what happens I'll never be a hotshot UI/UX designer. What I do know however is that the two hours I spent with Michael have given me an invaluable insight in to UI & UX that will help me to shape and refine my products & experiences, influence and inform my concepts beyond thumbnail sketches and briefs to agencies resulting in products that work. Products that engage, that have rhythm and intuition built in because I understand the practical fundamentals of what makes for good UI and UX.

Should you do this workshop if you're a Product Manager/Head of Product, hell yes!

Really inspiring

Had the lucky opportunity to meet Michael for a session, which was really inspiring and motivating. He started from the basics and really explained each step of the UI/UX journey clearly, making sure that you understood before moving on to the next step. You can tell how passionate he is, and how he wants everyone to be able to have the opportunity of learning about UI and UX.

Above and beyond anyone in this sector

I was left amazed by his patience, clarity and just how concise he is.

I found Michael’s approach of outlining the journey to succeed in UX/UI design, shares similarity with the way in which I imagine UX/UI principles can be applied in digital design:
1. Michael matches between the (learning) system and the real world
2. Visibility of (learning) system status - if you get stuck Michael advises you to keep him updated asap and not to give up! (Reference Jakob Nielsen's heuristics)

Michael delivers the key skills critical of a UX/UI designer in manner that is succinct, captivating, motivating and inspiring all in one session. In contrast to other learning methods and programs that simply fail to get to the point at all, sadly.

If you are lucky enough to get the opportunity to meet him too, remember, what you do with that luck, is what truly counts! I would advise, don’t waste any more time!

It's a life hack

If this course had existed earlier I would probably have a different career. Simple and effective, they take away the smoke and mirrors surrounding the world of UX & UI. And they do with with a smile on their face.

Would recommend this course to anyone who hankers after real design knowledge without the hard graft.

Insightful and inspiring

I went along for a bit of fun - I've worked professionally in design for 14 years but for the last 4 years haven't worked directly on UX/UI - I figured a glimpse of some current methods couldn't hurt. Truly a great experience. Michael is full of energy, inspiring mindsets and tons of tips. I'd highly recommend his talks for anyone with an interest in design and especially for anyone new - this could save a lot of money and a huge amount of time. I'll definitely keep in touch and support him where I can.

Valuable learning made truly accessible

Michael is one of those rare inspiring gems in London that I feel lucky to know. His pursuit of teaching curious minds the path to becoming a Digital Designer is met with mind-blowing simplicity, and after my first session with him, all I wanted was to hit a repeat button and enjoy the incredible experience all over again.

With complete selflessness, he is willing to share so much of his real-world knowledge that so many people need in order to become a successful digital designer in these exciting times of our industry.

There are many people who have been lucky work with him previously, and hopefully I’ll be one of the lucky ones to work with this inspiring chap in the future.

He sure is a gem!
