If you want to manage multiple channels, STAY AWAY from Guesty for Hosts

Much like other recent reviewers, I have had multiple occasions where the platform allowed double bookings across Airbnb and VRBO channels. At this point, cancellation expenses have cost me more than 2x the cost of the GFH annual subscription let alone the time and energy required to work with the guests to unwind the transactions and the tarnished reputation/branding associated with this issue.

The underlying issue with the double bookings seems to be the integration with VRBO. I have had many instances where VRBO reservation requests would come into the system, yet I could not accept or see any of the reservation details. Sometimes, I could accept then they would become inaccessible and other times I could not accept at all resulting in lost opportunity costs.

The dev team "fixed" that over a 6-8 week period but it still does not work consistently hence the double bookings and endless frustrations. Bottom line- customers are paying not only the cost of the service but also lost revenue and cancellation expenses to beta test their software!

If you are only working with Airbnb, the platform is probably fine though there is arguably little value add above what you can do with Airbnb directly. But if you are trying to manage multiple channels, RUN AWAY!

And if GFH wants to respond to this review that they want to look into my experience further, just check your support emails. I have a rather lengthy support thread outlining the issues and your inaction that I am more than happy to post here for all to see how you "continuously improve".

We used Guesty For Hosts when we…

We used Guesty For Hosts when we started off as a small business - we quickly moved away to another provider that was way more expensive than Guesty For Host. The price point has always tempted me so we went back couple of weeks ago only to be quickly reminded why we left in the first instance.

Guesty for Host did not sync our booking from booking dot com with Air B and B so we got double booked! The move to save cost has actually cost us £175 in cancellation fee and an un-happy guest. Guesty For Host did not respond to my query in a timely manner (only to come back after many days to say sorry we where to busy). I have cancelled our subscription (due to end 19/May) and now moved to another provider. The calendars are syncing just fine with the new provider. You get what you pay for - I will not recommend this platform to serious hosts looking to scale a short-let business.

This was a great product.. not any more....

This was a great product... that is when it was yourporter, then guesty bought out the company and it just went downhill ever since. Every other week a new glitch would appear, and customer service where of not much help either... after 5 years of using this product, i had to move on, unfortunately i cannot recommend this product any more.

Just terrible....

Just terrible..... The app does NOT recognized BLOCKED dates that are not "rented" (but blocked manually). Then the Calendar is buggy as hell : when you click the arrow to get to "the next period" (which should be that NEXT weeks on the calendar) sometimes it jumps to 2025, sometimes to 2026, then you click back the arrow and it goes back only 1 month (still in 2026)... Absolutely no support appart from that bot that does nothing. I uninstalled after 45 minutes of wasted time.

Guesty for Hosts falls short on feature set

Amazing UI and experience on both Mac and iPhone/iOS. Decent price point in comparison to other PMPs. Great workflow for housekeeping and customer communications.
Good integration with smart pricing affiliates.

Missing a ton of features (included in Guesty for Pros) so much that I had to leave the platform after a brief period. Terrible website templates. No customer invoicing which is key for direct booking. Although nice, customer service takes a minimum of 24 hours to reply to any question. No way to pay more $$ and upgrade to Guesty for Pros.
Very little OTA channel connectivity options.

Avoid Guesty for Hosts Damage Protection

I started using guesty for hosts in November 2022. They have been okay. I like the automated messaging and the integration with smart locks and pricelabs distributing to VRBO/AirBNB/Booking.com. I wish they had an integration with more OTAs.

I'm writing this review for other hosts after I tried their new damage protection program for 2 months - I cancelled it after my first claim. After paying $500 in premiums, they denied my first tiny claim for a broken lamp. On appeal they did approve it, but then they need permanent direct access to your bank account to pay out. I did not agree to this (ever) - it was never disclosed until they approve the claim, so they say they will not pay me. I've never heard of the company they use behind the scenes that asked for direct access to my bank account - Tern Financials. What an expensive hassle - no please. Highly recommend against.

I started as a YourPorter customer and…

I started as a YourPorter customer and was very happy with the app. Price and service were great. Then Guesty for Host came into the picture. They were great at first...then they just completely stopped customer support. No phone number to call and I have not had ANY of my tickets answered for more than 3 months. I loved the product but the customer service really went down hill. I had to move on.

When Guesty acquired Your Porter a year…

When Guesty acquired Your Porter a year or so ago, Porter was a great small indie channel manager that did all for you at a low price, and always replied right away to questions. Now, apparently Guesty has left The new “GUesty for hosts” to die. Their app freezes every time and needs to be shut down. Also slow loading times. Seems like here are now more features being added. Time to move on to another channel manager. It will definitely not be Guesty.

A terrible experience

You may have seen from my reviews that I have been trying to secure a good channel manager for my rental business with limited success.

So i thought i would try this premium priced platform to see how it compares with the others i unsuccessfully tried.

Set up was a breeze. Guesty connected to booking.com & AirBnB no trouble at all. And matching properties across the platforms was also very easy and straightforward. I am very happy so far...

Now the bad side. I knew i would have to adjust my AirBnB pricing (due to the simplified pricing model) but without warning, i suddenly realised that Guesty uses Airbnb as the anchor pricing tool, and then uses the Airbnb pricing to re-price my booking.com calendar. The end result is that my AirBnB commission charges increased by 17% on a lower price and my booking.com prices became 25% cheaper than they were and that was pre-20% commission.

I couldn't see any base price + commission rate setting to balance out the platform pricing models and with this major flaw, decided that Guesty wasn't for me. So i ended the trial.

Now the disaster! My calendars for all properties across all channels were now priceless and disconnected from each other. I had to painstakingly re-configure everything!

A terrible experience.

This is to be the worst channel…Guest for host suck!

This is to be the worst channel management site, first off if you have an emergence U R Fked, there is no live agent to speak to, and apparently, they work for themself because you give a how-to and don't answer back. the platform is so hard to learn, and you have to learn it all on your own half the agent don't reply back to you.

I have been using Your Porter since 2018. Their customer service is excellent and they are continually improving the product. It is very functional for managing multi-channel short term rentals.

I like that the Porter App allows you…

I like that the Porter App allows you to integrate almost all websites to it's calendar as tracks all of your cost and expenses in one central location. This app saves me at least 30 to 60 minutes a day. Before using porter I was doing everything by myself and it was a nightmare.

Your Porter is Great

Really useful app...I am managing multiple channels to host my vacation rental unit, and appreciate the number of channel integrations (AirBNB, VRBO, Booking, Expedia). Also like the automated messages that are sent to guests. Save time, use this app.

Definitely recommend

We've only been using YourPorter for a few weeks to manage one listing, and so far it's been incredible. The messaging alone has saved me a ton of time and energy, as we get at least one booking per day. Integrates really well with AirBNB and VRBO, works great with PriceLabs, and I'm currently testing out the Cleaner automations. Overall very happy with the product and looking forward to continuing with it.
